Chapter 229

### Chapter 228: Really Dumb

After much deliberation and with Jiang Kekai’s enthusiastic recommendations, Xia Yu and Xia Ling each picked out a pair of roller skates and a skateboard. None of them were too pricey; the best models were barely over k.

Of course, Jiang Hanhang had no objections to that. What were a few grand after all? If she couldn’t afford this, she wouldn’t be the little plushie tycoon owning ten villas. As for other toys like remote-controlled cars and airplanes, no one dared suggest getting those, so they weren’t purchased.

As they strolled around, they ended up in the doll section where numerous large and small dolls were on display, all of which could be taken down to hold and feel.

However, except for Xia Yu, the three girls already had plenty of dolls. Especially Jiang Hanhang—she had even arranged five of her villas to house her tired dolls, each pair sharing a room. It was very well organized.

Otherwise, what would be the point of having all those villas if not to use them?

Jiang Kekai noticed this too, so she suggested to Xia Yu, “Pick as many dolls as you want, Xia Yu. Every girl needs a bunch of dolls, right?”

Xia Yu: “…”

To be honest, maybe it was because of her lingering male psyche, but Xia Yu really didn’t want to admit she had become a girl. She was too afraid to argue with Jiang Kekai.

So, she bravely declined Jiang Kekai’s offer: “Little Ning Sister, will there be room for all these dolls in my bed? Besides, you’ve already given me that enormous doll. I really don’t need more.”

“So, you really love that giant doll I gave you?”

Suddenly, Jiang Kekai smirked at Xia Yu, as if Xia Yu had done something wrong.

At this point, Xia Yu was rather confused. Loving a doll was wrong? She wasn’t doing anything strange with it, was she?

Seeing Xia Yu shivering, Jiang Kekai’s playfulness was satisfied. She patted Xia Yu’s super soft hair: “Alright, Xia Yu. I’m not teasing you anymore. I’m happy you like the doll I gave you, just make sure to take care of it, okay? It’s been with me since I was little and is my favorite.”

“Um, you gave me such a precious thing even though you like it so much. Aren’t you worried I’ll lose it? Maybe…”

But before Xia Yu could continue, Jiang Kekai quickly silenced her with two fingers, “Tell me, Xia Yu, why would I give you something so valuable? Don’t tell me you don’t know.”

Seeing her sisters being overly affectionate, Jiang Hanhang quietly pulled Xia Ling away, thinking, ‘Ain’t that what older sisters do? They really squeeze Xiao Yu like a grape.’

However, her mind filled with images of Xia Ling squeezing her instead, because that’s how it used to be. The thought of what Xia Ling might do once she recovered made Jiang Hanhang break out in a cold sweat. She needed a plan, but what could she do?

“Hey, why did you bring me here?”

Jiang Hanhang, startled by Xia Ling’s exasperated voice, looked up to find herself inexplicably leading Xia Ling to the men’s underwear section, filled with nothing but boxers.

“Uh, zoning out…”

Embarrassedly explaining, Jiang Hanhang then grabbed Xia Ling’s hand and pulled her away from the awkward zone. Xia Ling was confused. She thought they were going somewhere, but ending up at a men’s underwear shop? This girl’s dim-wittedness never ceased to amaze her.

When both dim-witted ladies returned to Xia Yu and Jiang Kekai, their coupley moment was over, but Xia Yu still had a faint blush on her face, making her look adorable. Xia Ling could only glare at Jiang Kekai, knowing the young miss must have been bullying Xia Yu again.

Jiang Kekai, however, paid Xia Ling’s glare no heed. With Xia Yu in her arms, she pushed the shopping cart with confidence, walking ahead with flair.

Feeling a bit bored, Jiang Kekai added two boxes of calcium-fortified milk to the cart just before checkout. One didn’t need a crystal ball to see who was the recipient.

The four cute little darlings left at eight in the morning and returned home at six in the evening, demonstrating how much fun they could have. Clearly, money wasn’t an issue and they came back with plenty of loot.

When Xia Le saw all those items while watching TV in the living room, he felt a twinge of envy. ‘This Jiang family’s young miss treats her siblings so well! Why doesn’t this happen to me?’

Though he felt a bit off balance, Xia Le didn’t dare ask, “What about me?” He understood that some things were ultimately beyond his reach. Still, Xiao Le was pretty jealous.

Xia Le admitted he had money. While helping Lin Jie take photos, he saved up quite a bit. But he dared not spend it recklessly. He feared his parents might question where it came from.

So, Xia Le felt stuck, unable to indulge himself despite having money.

His reaction was comically varied, but Jiang Kekai ignored him entirely. Her main concern was Xia Yu, who got spoiled. Xia Ling was someone else’s job, and Xia Le didn’t need her approval.

In fact, Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang even detested him a bit. He’d accused them of sending people to beat him up, falsely implicating them.

They hadn’t heard a single “sorry” yet. How could they possibly tolerate Xia Le?

Back in the room, Xia Yu instinctively planned to get her clothes for a bath—a long-standing habit. Otherwise, with so many people around, late baths required waiting in line.

Yet, just as Xia Yu was about to get her clothes, Jiang Kekai stopped her. “Don’t rush, Xia Yu. We’ll go out again tonight and wash up later.”

“Eh, we’re going out again?”

Xia Yu looked displeased. She was tired and wanted to rest, preferring instead to shower and relax on her bed.

“Right. Didn’t you buy roller skates and a skateboard today? I’ll teach you at the square.”

Jiang Kekai was excited about being Xia Yu’s teacher that night.

She called the family manager and asked the maid to deliver all her roller gear…

Of course, Jiang Kekai didn’t skip notifying anyone. At dinner, she proposed, “I plan to take Xia Yu to the nearby Hundred Flowers Square. Anyone else coming along?”

“Yes.” “Yes.”

Predictably, the responses came from the dim-witted duo—Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang. Though she couldn’t play due to her arm injury, she could watch Xia Yu. Plus, she heard that learning roller skates required falling a few times.

“I’ll pass,” said Xia Le.

Like Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang, he hated her, and she knew better than to trust him. After all, with Jiang Family as Lin Jie’s rivals, aligning with Jiang Kekai was not an option.

Xia Le had reached a middle school mindset, convinced standing on either side bestowed infinite power to topple your enemies. Yet, even he could see the futility.

“Sure you won’t join? Sitting in your room gaming all day accomplishes nothing. Plus, you haven’t visited the square yet. Tonight’s a great chance.”

Listening to his father, Xia Le couldn’t protest. He knew better. So, dinner later would be followed by an outing to the square, a family affair.

After dinner, Jiang Kekai went to Xia Yu’s room, fetching skates and the skateboard, getting ready.

Xia Hong certainly knew these came from Jiang Family’s sisters, which prompted a wary acceptance. Once everything was loaded, they set off. Jiang Kekai hoped to teach Xia Yu skating tonight.

Meanwhile, Lin Hai received a call on his phone.

Seeing the familiar number, Lin Hai grinned and answered, “So, Dr. T, have you decided? Tell me your answer.”

Silence greeted him for a moment. Then T’s voice came through, “Your terms are accepted. However, I need bl**d samples from Xia Yu to analyze and confirm who you say she is. Otherwise, how can I trust you’re not just pulling my leg?”

Hearing this, Lin Hai’s smile faded, “But what if you don’t give me the details then? Isn’t that bl**d wasted?”

“I never said you should be involved. Just give me the details on Xia Yu, and I’ll send my people. No one from your family gets tangled up.”

Lin Hai clenched his teeth, “How long?”

“Can’t say. You haven’t given me your data, so how can I guarantee?”

Then, Lin Hai’s frustration seemed to give way to amusement on his face, “The data you require I can provide. But remember, she’s close to the Jiang Family’s young miss, Jiang Kekai. Good luck.”

With that, he hung up, sending T all the details on Xia Yu. Let that old man deal with it. Hopefully, things would culminate in a conflict between the Jiang and Lin families, allowing him to sit on the sidelines—enjoying the show.

Indeed, Lin Hai suddenly saw the opportunity and quickly changed his approach. His son’s information suggested Jiang Kekai confessed to Xia Yu. Really clueless.
