Chapter 231

**Chapter 230: Feeling Dizzy and Dizzier**

Home sweet home, time to rest after playing hard!

It was just a short ten-minute walk, but our lovable little Xia Yu must have overdone it because she conked out, snuggled comfortably against Jiang Kekai’s shoulder.

What else could Jiang Kekai do but pamper her? Besides, being relied upon by Xia Yu felt pretty nice!

When they finally reached their destination, Jiang Kekai decided against carrying the sleepy head upstairs for her safety, opting instead to wake the adorable little cutie.

Imagine how cute Xia Yu looked, bleary-eyed and adorably confused, even shedding little tears of sleep! Jiang Kekai couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt for interrupting such a precious moment.

But sleeping there wasn’t so comfy, so Jiang Kekai playfully pinched Xia Yu’s chubby cheeks: “Hey, Little Shadow, are you awake? We’re home!” Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling, who were rather used to this teasing, merely exchanged glances and decided to spare themselves the “dog food” display, hopping off the car together. This left Jiang Kekai even more emboldened! If it weren’t for the persistently clueless driver, Zhao Wei, she might have stolen a quick kiss from the adorable Xia Yu right there!

Eventually, with Jiang Kekai leading the way, they safely reached home, had a delightful bath, and snuggled up for some much-needed rest.

As Xia Yu quickly drifted back to dreamland by Jiang Kekai’s side, the latter understood that the little one must have been utterly exhausted, so she decided to skip any sneaky whispers tonight, instead curling up with Xia Yu for a cozy sleep.

After Sunday comes the dreaded Monday!

Meaning, when everyone returns from the weekend, it’s time for the flag-raising ceremony—a standard practice at every school, no exceptions!

As the anthem started playing, Xia Yu was lost in thought, torn between joining the boys or the girls. Can she even decide so confidently anymore?

“Hey sis, why are you spacing out? It’s time for the flag!”

Xia Ling’s familiar voice jolted her back to reality. Oh, right! Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang were here to fetch her. What a relief to know she wasn’t forgotten!

Following Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang, the trio quickly made their way to the playground.

However…. it was a chaotic scene! Without the class signs, finding her team would have been a challenge.

Luckily, the signs were visible, guiding Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang straight to Class 15’s line as they brought Xia Yu along. With so many classes, standing in four lines each just wouldn’t cut it, so the rule was two lines: boys in one, girls in the other.

Of course, Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang naturally joined the girls’ line and attempted to usher Xia Yu in too.

However, they underestimated their little sister’s stubbornness.

Since no one was holding her hand, Xia Yu felt a little freer. As Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang slipped seamlessly into the girls’ lineup, Xia Yu hesitated about joining them, awkwardly lingering off to the side.

Right next to the boys’ line, mind you!

Thanks to Xia Yu’s little maneuver, the boys of Class 15 were hesitant to line up behind her, worried they’d be in the wrong queue!

Once Xia Ling settled in after looking around, she realized Xia Yu was missing. Glancing left and right to no avail, she turned to Jiang Hanhang, saying, “Hanhang, I can’t move easily right now. Could you please fetch my sister?”

Jiang Hanhang noticed Xia Ling’s arm in a cast and didn’t refuse, but couldn’t resist complaining as she left, “Your sister sure knows how to cause trouble.” Just like that, while Xia Yu was distracted and glancing around, Jiang Hanhang grabbed her arm and pulled her toward the girls’ lineup. Along the way, Xia Yu caught classmates giggling at her, but what could she do? She just couldn’t shake off the nervous feeling.

Soon enough, Jiang Hanhang had Xia Yu back in front of Xia Ling. As for punishing this trailing little cutie, Jiang Hanhang decided to leave that to Xia Ling while she grabbed some popcorn to watch the show.

Seeing Xia Ling sh**t her a disappointed glance, Xia Yu panicked a bit, “W-Why are you looking at me like that, Little Ling?”

“What do you think?”

Xia Ling shot back, not believing for a second that Xia Yu was unaware of her mischief. Sure enough, Xia Yu’s response was, “I… I don’t know.”

With a guilty look, Xia Yu scanned the area, clearly trying to divert the attention. No luck! She was in for some consequences!

It seemed like Xia Ling, used to bickering with Jiang Hanhang, had developed a fondness for pinching as she playfully pinched Xia Yu’s cheek to discipline her rebellious sister.

Xia Yu: “…”

Though taken to stand in line against her will, Xia Yu couldn’t help but feel anxious—after all, her enrollment data stated she was a boy!

When the class teacher, He Gongxing, came to check attendance, Xia Yu’s nerves escalated. What if he dragged her off to the boys’ line? That would be massively embarrassing!

To her surprise, He Gongxing merely glanced over her and Xia Ling before continuing on his way. Phew! That was terrifying! Xia Yu’s heart nearly jumped into her throat, but thankfully, nothing happened.

With the teacher silently allowing her to stay, Xia Yu finally felt herself relaxing; no embarrassment today!

The flag-raising wrapped up, and then it was time for the school’s endless speeches. Every student loathed them, and Xia Yu was no exception! She longed for them to finish already so she could slouch comfortably at her desk!

After enduring what felt like a lifetime of the duty captain’s speech, he nonchalantly mentioned the principal had a few points to go over, and someone new took the stage. After the principal finished, the head of the academic affairs office stepped up to drone on about the severity of phone use and disciplinary actions as if it were the most riveting topic in the world.

As it dragged on, Xia Yu’s legs began to feel wobbly, and she could hardly resist the urge to crouch down for a breather.

But no sooner had she crouched than a wave of dizziness swept over her, and… she fainted!

“Little Sister!”

“Xia Yu!” “Summer Yu!”

With shouts echoing around her, Xia Yu didn’t have the strength to respond. Ironically, the very embarrassing moment she worked so hard to avoid had arrived—she fainted in front of everyone! He Gongxing was quick to react, directing another girl to help Jiang Hanhang lift Xia Yu to the infirmary.

Xia Ling desperately wanted to follow, and He Gongxing couldn’t possibly stop her; her arm was in a cast! If she passed out too, that would be a disaster!

The incident of a fainting girl wasn’t unprecedented, so the speeches continued; now with added emphasis on staying healthy!

Fortunately, Xia Yu, Xia Ling, and Jiang Hanhang were safely out of there.

Meanwhile, Jiang Hanhang noticed her big sister rushing over, snatching the role of another girl holding Xia Yu, her breath quickened as she clearly had dashed over upon seeing Xia Yu faint.

“How’s Xia Yu?”

Once Jiang Kekai took over supporting Xia Yu, she anxiously inquired about her little sister.

At that moment, Jiang Hanhang had been beside Xia Yu, so she figured she might know what was happening.

However, Jiang Hanhang chuckled uneasily, “How am I supposed to know? She was just standing and then… poof, down she went! No clue!” Jiang Kekai felt a bit more reassured; everyone was just human, after all—she was overreacting.

Not wanting to waste time, Jiang Kekai rushed to squat in front of Xia Yu and let her lay on her back. Carrying her would be quicker! Seeing her sister’s concern for Xia Yu, Jiang Hanhang felt a mix of bitterness and compliance as she positioned Xia Yu onto Jiang Kekai’s back.

And sure enough, Jiang Kekai was much faster running with Xia Yu on her back; in just three minutes, she successfully brought her to the school’s nurse’s office.

“What happened?”

Inside, there was a male nurse at a computer and a female nurse organizing medicine. Upon noticing Jiang Kekai hurrying in, the female nurse asked her habitually.

“She just fainted out of nowhere.”

Jiang Hanhang jumped in to respond for her panting sister.

“Hmm, just lay her on that bed over there. Has she had any of those fainting issues before? Like anemia or low bl**d sugar?” The nurse was calm as a cucumber; after all, she had seen this case a million times before.

“Yes, my sister has anemia.”

“Did she get her period already?” “It came on Friday.”

Thinking back to the awkward situation at the swimming pool, Xia Ling had no idea how to address Xia Yu’s bizarre circumstances.

The nurse immediately diagnosed, “Anemia plus her period, and standing for so long? It’s perfectly normal for her to feel dizzy. No need to worry, she just needs some rest.”

Hearing this, Jiang Kekai, Jiang Hanhang, and Xia Ling all let out a collective sigh of relief.

Only one classmate who followed along found it odd—wasn’t Xia Yu a boy? How could she have a period? Her mom had said that was only for girls!
