Chapter 24: Find Brother
Xia Ling never expected Xia Yu to ask her such a question, but she soon snapped out of it, “Alright, just wait a moment~”
With that, Xia Ling got up and walked back to her room. In no time, she returned with two unopened packs of pink sanitary napkins in hand.
Since there was no one else at home except for them on the second floor, Xia Ling didn’t have to worry about anything. Approaching Xia Yu, she tossed the sanitary napkins to her, “There you go, thirty bucks~”
Originally, Xia Yu only wanted to buy one pack, but seeing her sister like this, she felt too embarrassed to refuse. So, she gave her sister the thirty bucks’ worth of New Year’s money.
Naturally, Xia Yu had to take both packs of sanitary napkins back to her room to change. She couldn’t stand using regular tissues anymore—it’s uncomfortable!
After changing, Xia Yu hid away the sanitary napkins. If their parents found out that a boy was using them, it would be really weird…
So, after doing all this, Xia Yu left the room with the bloody tissues in hand.
On the sofa, Xia Ling felt conflicted. She wanted to help Xia Yu but felt too embarrassed. It was because…she still couldn’t get over the fact that Xia Yu might be a “person of special gender.”
After washing her hands, Xia Yu sat back on the sofa watching TV. Otherwise, she wouldn’t know what to do during this break.
It was lunchtime. The adults had prepared the dishes, but Xia Le, who loves to play, hadn’t come back. Therefore, they asked Xia Yu to find him: “Little Yu, we’re ready to eat. Go see where your brother is playing and bring him back for lunch.”
“Okay~”
Feeling quite helpless, Xia Yu stepped out of the house to search.
Based on her memory, Xia Yu guessed that her big brother should be playing paintball with his friends near some abandoned houses.
So, Xia Yu started searching based on her past memory. After all, in the village, there were only a few spots for paintball games.
Soon enough, Xia Yu arrived at the cluster of abandoned houses. Sure enough, she saw a bunch of boys her age playing paintball. Unfortunately, they weren’t too fond of Xia Yu.
From the outside, Xia Yu couldn’t spot her big brother. Thus, she had to keep looking inside, hoping to find him.
However, after circling around, Xia Yu still didn’t find her big brother. Very unwillingly, she approached a group of boys still playing paintball and asked, “Do any of you know where my big brother went?”
One of the boys playing paintball looked at Xia Yu strangely and replied, “Xiao Le just went back home. Are you Xia Yu? You’re actually back?”
“Yeah~”
Since her big brother was already home, she didn’t need to look anymore. Before heading back, she answered the boy’s question.
But little did Xia Yu know, after she left, the boys secretly planned something, then armed themselves and split up to encircle her from different directions.
Indeed, knowing that this cute person was Xia Yu, the boys’ minds filled with thoughts of bullying Xia Yu. In their view, since Xia Yu was a boy but didn’t fit in, it must be Xia Yu’s fault…
