### Chapter 244: Persuasive Words
As they listened to their mother’s explanation, Xia Yu and Xia Ling couldn’t help but glance at each other. It was simply too bizarre to them—could two girls really give birth? Alas, they didn’t have a clue how it worked.
Placing the stroller on the ground and setting the baby inside, surely that was necessary for their mom to eat, right? After all, who could eat with a screaming baby in their arms?
But as soon as the baby was in the stroller, he suddenly let out a wail that could wake the dead. All eyes immediately focused on this little tyke.
Though it was loud, they understood the situation, so there was no real reason to stress.

The joyful baby started reaching around, trying to grab Xia Yu’s hair and nose. Xia Yu switched from holding the baby horizontally to vertically, deciding it might be best if the kid had something to grab onto.
Sure enough, the baby clutched Xia Yu’s face and even nipped playfully, just like her own mom did—a sweet reminder of maternal love.
Seeing Xia Yu and the baby acting so cute, Xia Ling couldn’t resist teasing Xia Yu, “Look, the baby really loves you.”
Right then, the elder sister chimed in with a request, “Indeed. Why don’t you keep playing with the baby while I grab a bite?”
“Mmm.”
Xia Yu, always shy, couldn’t say no.
After gently rubbing both their heads, the elder sister smiled before turning away, signaling to another sister who still seemed pleased with the arrangement.
Seeing Xia Yu struggle to eat while holding the baby, Xia Yu felt a bit silly, thinking that this beautiful infant must be the fruit of the elder sisters’ affection—what a magical thing!
As Xia Yu thought about her own sister, Sister Xiao Ning, she wondered if they would have such a lovely baby someday, just like the sisters here.
Focusing back on the baby tugging at her hair, Xia Yu found herself charmed despite her guests’ status. She couldn’t be seen favoring the baby too much or her reputation might take a hit.
After a while of feeding her own, the aunt joined to take the baby, saying, “You’ve done well, now you can eat.”
However, the baby wasn’t happy about being handed off and began crying again.
That awkward moment made Xia Yu’s aunt feel embarrassed—she never expected her baby to be so attached to Xia Yu.
At that moment, the other married sister came over.
Then… magic happened.
For some reason, when the elder sister tried to take the baby, she was very compliant, happily going to her other mom.
“Still watching? Not hungry?”

Two girls getting married was fine but traditionalists had their doubts.

Seeing Xia Yu spacing out, Xia Ling nudged her with her elbow, suggesting they go upstairs to play with the babies.
“I’m good… everyone enjoy…” Xia Yu stood up, stuttering as she fled, blushing furiously as Xia Ling laughed behind her.
“Come on, we’ll go first!” Xia Ling teased.
Turning the corner, Xia Ling couldn’t help but mock Xia Yu, “Honesty, you’re so timid!”
Ignoring Xia Ling, Xia Yu asked, “Do you know where the aunt’s room is?”
Xia Ling rolled her eyes at Xia Yu, saying, “I’ve been with you all day; how would I know more than you do?” Realizing she had become overly reliant on her sister, Xia Yu admitted she might indeed be losing her edge. They decided to find it themselves as the house only had four floors.
Meanwhile, a male relative less connected to the family asked Xia Hong, “Didn’t you have two kids? One boy and one girl?”
Other relatives, not forgetting old faces, were curious too, waiting to hear Xia Hong’s response.
Xia Hong took a sip of beer, explaining, “Yes, it’s complicated…”
With nothing else to do, Xia Hong shared details about Xia Yu, her quiet nature, and Xia Ling calling her ‘sister’ because Xia Yu adored her.
