# Chapter 20: Uncle, It’s Me!
The meeting wrapped up.
Mo Qianmeng and Ice Lixie stepped out of the conference room.
“Lixie sis, do you know where to find the person the Sunset Research Institute is looking for?”
If a thirty-something like Hei Yang can call Ice Lixie “Lixie sis,” then Qianmeng calling her that is totally fair game.
In response to Qianmeng’s question, Ice Lixie nodded. “Yep.”
“Really?”
“Yup, always have known; it’s just a secret.”
“What’s your relationship with her, Lixie sis?”
“Just friends. We hit it off because we have a lot in common.”
“Oh, I see.”
Qianmeng decided not to poke around any further.
Things felt complicated, and the more she thought about it, the more confused she became.
If someone smarter were here, they could probably analyze a million things based on what they know.
As it turns out, even among strategic Night Watchers, there’s a noticeable gap in intellect.
Ice Lixie then parted ways with Qianmeng.
She left the Night Watcher Base alone, earbuds in, happily jamming to the latest hit by the Starry Sky Songstress—a voice she absolutely adored.
Once she stepped out of the Night Watcher Base, Ice Lixie headed straight for the Calligraphy and Painting Entertainment District and walked into the largest library there.
Inside, she spotted the person she was hoping to see—the Purple-haired Administrator.
Sensing someone approaching, the Purple-haired Administrator lifted her gaze.
“Looking to read?”
“I’m not a fan of reading; I prefer scenic vistas,” Ice Lixie replied sweetly.
The Purple-haired Administrator returned her gaze to the book.
“Such a pity.”
“Not at all! Everyone has their preferences. You like reading, whereas I enjoy the scenery. If I invited you to go sight-seeing with me, would you come?”
“Nope.”
“Right?”
Ice Lixie plopped down in the nearest seat to the front desk and started chatting with the Administrator.
“It might get a bit dangerous soon; should you find a safer place to hide? Seems like your location is a bit exposed.”
“I like it here.”
“Aren’t you going to miss the books? I could have someone bring them to you—enough to tide you over until this whole mess blows over.”
“That’s not the issue; I’m the Administrator, so I can’t leave this place.”
“What? You’re still acting the same as before.” Ice Lixie’s expression was a mix of exasperation and amusement.
“Of all things, you’re getting older and still throwing such strange tantrums. Truly impressive.”
“Don’t say that! If anyone’s impressive, it’s you. Despite being such a wreck, here you are, still holding on. I admire people like you.”
“Wanna learn from me?” Ice Lixie flashed a gentle smile.
“No way! I lack that kind of will. I just want to escape quickly.”
“Oh, really? I won’t bother you with persuasion then.”
“Thanks for understanding.”
“But I’ll try my best to keep you out of those bad guys’ clutches.”
“Thanks for that, you’re a huge help. If I go back there, I probably won’t be able to read all those fascinating books anymore.”
“No need to thank me. What else would I do as your friend?”
A while later, Ice Lixie left the library.
Just a few minutes after she departed, a silver-haired loli sauntered in.
“Hmm~ Let’s see if there are any specialized performing arts books here. The online info is too jumbled; there’s hardly anything to reference.”
Night Star mumbled, then made her way to the front desk.
“Administrator sis, do you have any books on stage performances?”
“Yeah, check the fourth shelf on the left of the light novel section; you can find it yourself.”
“Yay! Thank you so much!”
With that, Night Star bounced over to the relevant section.
She put in so much effort for the theater’s performance—it’s like she was more of a group leader than the leader herself!
And what’s scarier is that if she wanted to, she could probably take over the entire theater group; that’s just terrifying!
She absolutely doesn’t want to be the head honcho of any theater.
“Geez, it looks like turning the Rising Sun Theater into a well-known group is going to be quite the uphill battle~”
…..
A night passed.
Saturday rolled around as usual.
And today marked the day of the Rising Sun Theater’s performance outing.
All members were ready to go!
Night Star changed into her audience performer outfit and stood beside the group leader.
With a commanding voice, the group leader declared, “Let’s go on the hunt for a stage and start today’s grand performance!”
As soon as the words left her mouth, the group leader, the singer, the puppet master, the gentleman, and the fraudster—all five Star Holders—stepped out of the theater, accompanied by one civilian audience performer.
“Coo coo coo~”
Oh wait, there’s one more.
A pigeon flew onto the audience performer’s shoulder, joining in for the very first show.
Performance prop—Guqiu, reporting for duty!
Let’s roll out!
Meanwhile, the Sunset Research Institute was rapidly gathering personnel, preparing to turn the Calligraphy and Painting Entertainment District upside down.
Even if the Night Watchers showed up, they wouldn’t stand a chance.
For this, they were fully prepared to face the Night Watchers at their maximum strength.
In the lab.
A bunch of researchers stared at the chamber containing the experimental subjects, getting ready to open it.
“Experimental Subjects 3, 4, and 5 are about to be released. They’re the product of the Star Eclipse effective utilization research. They’ve been confirmed stable and are ready for combat. According to the experimental data, their combat power is close to that of the Sunlight Night Watchers, making them our trump card for this operation.”
With a rush of steam, three fully exposed individuals emerged from the chamber, radiating an eerie aura.
Any Star Holder could sense the heavy Star Eclipse energy wafting off them—very dangerous!
This was an early project of the Sunset Research Institute, which had only recently produced results.
With a large number of Star Holders in their ranks, they can easily acquire fresh Star Eclipse subjects. Whether through capture, induction, or extermination, they can pull it off.
Now, with significant funds and efforts invested, their project is ready to battle, and many researchers were pumped with excitement.
The senior staff watched the newly emerged trio with satisfied expressions, brimming with confidence.
“Let’s move out! If the Night Watchers dare to interfere, then let’s see how our new toys perform!”
Switching perspectives.
Night Watcher Base.
In the command center, news came through.
“Alert! The Know Star signal has reacted—three different Star Eclipse fluctuations in the Calligraphy and Painting Entertainment District. Quite bizarre; we must investigate immediately.”
Hei Yang paused for a moment at the news.
Star Eclipses?
Is this the Rising Sun Theater that Ice Lixie mentioned?
No, it can’t be. If it were the Rising Sun Theater’s Star Eclipses, the Know Star would have sounded a much louder alarm. So… it’s other Star Eclipses?
But three appearing at once? Definitely not a coincidence.
Hei Yang fell into thought, suddenly considering a possibility.
“Is it the Sunset Research Institute’s Star Eclipse research results?”
Hearing this, Mo Qianmeng looked a bit confused.
“What’s that?”
Hei Yang broke into a sunshiny yet fiery grin.
“This is a provocation against the Night Watchers! Uncle is really getting mad!”
