### Chapter 245: Judge by Appearance
#### Second Floor
On the second floor, Xia Yu and Xia Ling meandered around but found out that these weren’t the rooms of the two older sisters.
Since some rooms had open doors and others with closed doors showed no signs of life, they surmised that the two big sisters must be on the third floor.
And indeed, as Xia Yu and Xia Ling made their way up to the third floor, they heard voices coming from one of the rooms—the very same room where the two older sisters were chatting.
Knock knock knock
Xia Ling took the initiative to knock: “Auntie, Xia Ling and I are here.”
Click
The door wasn’t opened by their aunt, but by the pretty big sister who married their aunt.
She looked at Xia Yu and Xia Ling and then noticed that there was no one else around. With a satisfied nod, she stepped back slightly, smiling and inviting them inside: “You’re here! Come in quickly.”
Xia Yu and Xia Ling were initially puzzled why the big sister acted so cautiously, until they entered the room. Suddenly, everything clicked into place—they realized their aunt was using her breast milk to feed the baby, which explained the sister’s careful demeanor. Xia Yu, the little cutie, felt embarrassed and turned away promptly, repeating to herself, “Don’t stare, don’t stare, don’t stare…”
Xia Ling, being equally new to the scene, also averted her gaze. She had never seen anyone feed a baby before. Xia Yu and Xia Ling’s aunt chuckled: “It’s okay, they are all girls.”
Though she reassured them, neither Xia Yu nor Xia Ling could bring themselves to look again.
They found a spot and sat down, facing away from their aunt, waiting for the little one to finish feeding. Both thought wistfully, “If only we knew their aunt was feeding the baby, we wouldn’t have come over so early. This is quite awkward.”
Xia Yu and Xia Ling felt awkward, but their aunt’s sister-in-law was perfectly at ease.
So she sat next to Xia Yu and Xia Ling, curious about the cute twins, smiling and asking, “Are you twins? You’re so adorable, what’re your names?”
“I’m Xia Ling, and this is my sister, Xia Yu.”
As Xia Ling spoke, she hugged Xia Yu’s arm, signaling their strong bond. Xia Yu, curious herself, asked, “So what are your names, Auntie and…?”
“I’m Wei Yin, you can call me Little Yin. Don’t tell me you don’t know your aunt’s name?” Wei Yin asked with a smile. Xia Yu and Xia Ling shook their heads in unison, embarrassed by their ignorance.
“Well, she’s called Tang Mengying. You two don’t even know your aunt’s name, how embarrassing!”
Xia Ling quickly chimed in, “Little Yin, Auntie’s been absent during our visits to Grandma’s home. Even before, all we’ve ever known her as was ‘Auntie.’ This isn’t our fault.”
“Alright, you two sly foxes, what grade are you in?”
Time flew by as Xia Yu, Xia Ling, and Wei Yin chatted. When the baby finally finished eating, Tang Mengying adjusted her clothes and brought the child to the group, saying, “Finally, this little one had enough.”
“Are you tired? Give the baby to Xia Yu or Xia Ling; I’ll massage your back,” Wei Yin said affectionately to Tang Mengying.
“Sounds good!”
Tang Mengying handed the baby back to Xia Yu without a second thought, seemingly confident in Xia Yu’s handling.
The baby instantly reached for Xia Yu, grabbing her long hair with joy. Xia Ling, curious, gently prodded the baby’s soft skin—it was as smooth as expected. Xia Ling joked, “Want to hold the baby too?”
Xia Yu looked at her hopefully.
“Go ahead.”
Tang Mengying watched happily, already enjoying Wei Yin’s shoulder massage.
Seeing Xia Ling hold the baby, Xia Yu felt a twinge of disappointment and returned the baby, muttering, “Can’t be that different from me, right? We even wear the same clothes. What gives?”
Tang Mengying laughed, “Don’t mind it, she just recognizes people she’s close to. Only me and Little Yin can hold her, even her grandmother isn’t allowed.”
“Interesting,” Xia Ling murmured, poking the baby’s face playfully. Suddenly, she got an idea, “Sister, why don’t you have a kid so I can play with it?”
“Given the big bad guy has already professed his love to you, shouldn’t he?”
Coughing a bit, shock evident on both ladies’ faces, Xia Ling quickly clarified, “Wait! Little Yin meant that the older sister, Jiang Kekai, really likes Xia Yu. Last time, she confessed to Xia Yu at home.”
“We Jiang family’s prodigy,” Wei Yin remarked. “That Jiang Kekai, always trying to monopolize Xia Yu, even sleeping together every night, so forceful.”
Thinking about the past, Xia Ling couldn’t hide her annoyance at Jiang Kekai.
Xia Yu felt insecure, “Grandpa doesn’t like me anyway.”
“It’s fine, that Jiang Heng is retired and distributed most of his wealth. Don’t worry about him,” Wei Yin reassured.
“He’s old news; now it’s our turn. Rumor has it Jiang Kekai is quite capable, so she won’t trouble anyone,” Tang Mengying added.
Feeling confused by the advice, Xia Yu wondered if marriage was really on the table for her young age. Xia Ling felt similarly frustrated; she thought Jiang Kekai was a villain, yet somehow the aunties thought highly of her.
Meanwhile, the baby, contrary to expectations, was lively, exploring everything with curious eyes. Neither Wei Yin nor Tang Mengying had experience with babies, finding themselves clueless.
Despite their efforts, Xia Yu and Xia Ling continued to observe, feeling rather helpless.
