Chapter 32: A Little Understanding
Dusk was falling.
Night Star returned to the theater and brought some delicious treats from the food and entertainment district back for Lotus and Kong Yu Bai.
Although they could go without eating in their star eclipse state, the food was still good. Not just for the nutritional value, but for the taste itself, which fulfills your palate. That’s why gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins. If you were a true food connoisseur, maybe you’d want a stomach that never gets full.
“Song Zhe ~ Puppeteer ~ I brought dinner back for you.”
Kong Yu Bai and Lotus came over to greet Night Star.
“Welcome back, what’s for dinner?”
“Oh, it’s from the Celestial Food District. By the way, this stuff is pretty pricey.”
Kong Yu Bai took the bag from Night Star’s hands.
“I’ll treat you next time, as I can afford to splurge on celestial food.”
“Mmmh, I’m looking forward to it!”
Then, Gu Qiu flew onto Night Star’s head and stopped there.
“Goo, what about me?”
“I didn’t forget you.”
Night Star placed a box of fries on a chair, and Gu Qiu happily dived in.
Suddenly, Night Star remembered something.
“Oh, I have to go out for a bit.”
“Where are you going?”
“To the library. The administrator there seems really lonely, and since we get along so well, I wanted to bring her some food.”
“Ah, her,” Kong Yu Bai recalled.
She was a mature-looking woman with purple hair. Night Star actually became friends with the librarian in such a short time. Impressive.
“Go ahead, but be careful. If you’re in danger, just open the theater entrance; we’ll come save you right away.”
“Mmm.”
Just as Night Star prepared to step out, a pigeon landed on her head.
“Goo, I want to go too.”
“Huh? Aren’t you going to eat the fries?”

“What’s with Gu Qiu suddenly wanting to tag along? Doesn’t she want the fries anymore?” thought Night Star bewilderedly.

Night Star was flabbergasted. This pigeon had an actual brain?
But then Gu Qiu said, “Goo, the group leader told me this.”
“Okay, then.”
It seemed the group leader liked pushing people towards diversification.
Not just saying don’t limit to being an audience performer, but also telling Gu Qiu to stop being just a prop. Weird much?
Night Star shook off the thoughts and headed out with Gu Qiu.

The scene switched to the calligraphy and painting entertainment district.
Night Star appeared in a concealed corner near the library. She quickly surveyed the area and found nothing unusual before entering the library.
Upon entering, she spotted two figures: Watchman Ice Li Xi and the purple-haired administrator.
Seeing Ice Li Xi made Night Star want to run away. Why would a watchman be here? Terrifying!
Ice Li Xi noticed Night Star and smiled slightly.
“Isn’t she an audience performer? Back again at the library?”
“Uh…”
Night Star suddenly didn’t want to admit it.
“I’m here to bring the administrator some treats and maybe do a little reading.”
“Food?”
Ice Li Xi’s eyes focused on the bag in Night Star’s hand, a bit surprised.
So this performer was actually cute. Bringing midnight snacks to someone you just met? And with such a special identity? Seems like she doesn’t care about being unique.
From that perspective, she was indeed a simple and adorable little girl. Even if she ran the perilous Rising Sun Theater Group, Ice Li Xi wouldn’t object.
Night Star nervously approached the front desk and laid down her sweets.

“Thank you.” The administrator replied simply.
At that moment, Ice Li Xi let out a puzzled hmm.
“Uhh…”
Next, Night Star felt something was off.
“Goo! Ungodly biped, release Gu Qiu now!”
Night Star turned only to find Gu Qiu snatched up by Ice Li Xi.
“Why is this talking pigeon here? Must be a star eclipse. As usual, performers love interacting with star eclipses. Even animal ones.”
“Wooooo, give back Gu Qiu!”
Night Star tried jumping to get Gu Qiu back, but one-point-seven meters tall Ice Li Xi was too high.
So Night Star looked like a big girl bullying a tiny loli.
Disgusted by this, the purple-haired administrator sighed.
This noise is ruining the peace. Can’t concentrate!
Ice Li Xi gently put Gu Qiu back on Night Star’s head.
“Don’t worry, I won’t punish this bird. I’m just curious.”
“Mmh…” Night Star hugged Gu Qiu tightly, displeased, “Taking our friend without permission, very rude.”
“I apologize, sorry.”
“It’s fine…”
Seeing Night Star calm down, Ice Li Xi chuckled.
“You certainly won over someone admirable. It must be rare to become such close friends with her.”
“If you keep visiting, who knows.”
“I’ll skip the reading. My concentration’s shot.”
Ice Li Xi laughed and glanced at the bag.
“Try the gift she left. Smells delicious and has celestial power. Probably a tasty snack from the food district. If you don’t eat, I will.”
The administrator sighed and opened the bag.
“Can you tell me more about that girl? I’d like to know her a little.”
