“But… I still want that white bear.”
Xia Yu’s eyes darted away, blushing and hesitantly voicing her opinion. She clutched the fluffy little white bear pendant, about the size of her palm.
Jiang Kekai was somewhat surprised. Xia Yu was actually starting to assert herself!

Seeing how Jiang Kekai bought Xia Yu some accessories, Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang naturally couldn’t simply watch on, plus they weren’t exactly broke. So each of them bought an adorable pendant to attach to their own bags.
With this mission accomplished, they were now heading back to school to face their classmates’ gazes. Xia Yu was still clueless about what to do.

Looking up, Gao Xiaotian saw it was Xia Yu, dressed in the girl’s uniform and carrying a delightful backpack. Could all those rumors be true?
Gao Xiaotian shifted his chair aside, making room for Xia Yu. Although he was curious about asking questions, his incomplete homework blocked the way.
The quiet boy took Xia Yu by surprise, yet it was perfect for her silence.
From her new backpack, Xia Yu brought out a stack of homework, thankful for Jiang Kekai’s assistance yesterday. Otherwise, she might have been like Gao Xiaotian now—desperate.
Xia Yu eagerly took the stuffed dog and bear off her bag, those plush toys so touchably soft.
Cradling them, she placed a notebook beneath her to play with them like a child never grows up.
“Hey Xia Yu, good morning, what have you been up to?” asked Guo Yao and Li Jia, Xia Yu’s former deskmates.
“No big deal,” Xia Yu replied coolly, continuing to handle her toys.
“What about this? Have you considered sharing more?”
Seeing Xia Yu’s hesitation, the girls assumed something more.
“Aren’t you going to clarify?”
Xia Yu returned to petting her plush friends. Her avoidance made things more interesting for the imaginative girls.
Suddenly, they had an epiphany, “So that’s why you were hesitant about swimming!”

The sound of pen scribbling from her deskmate, Gao Xiaotian, distracted them.
Seeing their attentions drawn, Gao Xiaotian continued, “Aren’t you going to explain your side in the group chat?”
“I’ll talk if I want to,” Xia Yu shrugged, still playing.
Nodding, Li Jia changed topic, “By the way, Xia Yu, did you finish your homework?”
Xia Yu handed Li Jia her book.
“Nah, I did! Here, help yourself,” she offered reluctantly.
Li Jia pouted comically, “Thanks, sis.”
The mischievously giggling Li Jia squeezed Xia Yu’s cheek, teasing her friend.
“Since Jia started, mine should be okay too.”
This time, Xia Yu grabbed Clao Yaw’s wrist firmly, “Stop it, we won’t have time before submission.”
“Oh…”
Claro Ya sighed, feeling slighted, not having touched Xia Yu’s cheek.
