#### Chapter 265: Brothers
“Just handling some stuff, let’s go eat now.”
Jiang Kekai didn’t want to talk about what happened earlier, so she started talking about something else and took Xia Yu away from the classroom first.
Seeing this, Jiang Hanhang didn’t ask much and followed behind with Xia Ling, although she was still curious.
On the way, it seemed Jiang Kekai remembered something and looked at Xia Yu with a sly smile, “So how’s it going, Little Yu? Don’t tell me your classmates all think you’re cross-dressing as a boy?”
The moment Jiang Kekai said that, it brought back some unpleasant memories for Xia Yu. She said pitifully, “I don’t want them to think that, I’ve explained it before, but they won’t listen!”
“That’s not too bad, right? At least people won’t gossip behind your back anymore. And besides, you are a girl now, so aren’t they smart?”
As she spoke, Jiang Kekai suddenly wrapped her arms around Xia Yu from behind, as if this was something joyful.
But Xia Yu wasn’t happy. If her father found out, what would happen? Would he misunderstand? Xia Yu had no idea.
Jiang Kekai, guessing Xia Yu’s worries, casually added, “They can believe whatever they want, as long as you don’t admit it, their suspicions are just that. No need to worry, I’ll protect you, Big Sister.”
“Really?”
“Of course, really.”
When they returned to their dorm, the four girls saw four boxed lunches on the dining table, which seemed pretty fancy.
“The food in the school cafeteria isn’t safe for us. I specifically asked someone to make these in a hotel and bring them here. You can eat them with peace of mind,” Jiang Kekai explained.
“Really? Then I won’t be polite.”
Jiang Hanhang was first to grab a box lunch and eagerly opened it with Xia Ling to see what her sister had prepared.
Turned out, it was braised goose. Sure enough, following her sister had its perks. But Xia Yu and Xia Ling couldn’t tell; they mistakenly thought it was roast duck, but that was okay. After dinner, Jiang Hanhang led Xia Yu for a nap, while Xia Ling was sent off to bicker, each with their own plans.
At the same time, the Enforcement Team Captain had left Y Doctor, Lin Family Head, and Huang Family Head stranded outside the school gate. Huang Family Head started first, “What, do we keep waiting? That Jiang Family’s young lady Jiang Kekai is around Xia Yu. Should we wait or not?”
“We must wait. Have I come all these days for nothing? Today, I have to meet that Xia Yu kid!”
Turning to Lin Family Head, Y Doctor added impatiently, “I thought Lin Hai might not be so great, after all, Jiang Family’s young lady is just standing there, she didn’t even remind us.”
Lin Family Head felt cornered, “Why should I bear the consequences? It’s the patriarch’s fault. I wish I could just lie down.”
“In any case, whether to persuade Xia Yu or not is your problem, not mine. My job isn’t to get Xia Yu to cooperate.”
“So what is your mission?”
“Secret business.”
Silence…
With a decision made, both parties kept their forces where they were supposed to be.
Of course, these antics were noted by Jiang Family bodyguards, who must have noticed the recent activity.
To avoid waking the sleeping Xia Yu, Jiang Kekai disabled cell phone sounds, only setting a vibration alert. As a result, she quickly got updates about the outside situation, realizing those three fellows were still determined.
Looking at Xia Yu’s peacefully sleeping face, Jiang Kekai sighed helplessly. Seeing those guys so shameless, she knew better than to give in. Knowing her forces were already on the move, she had no doubt in her mind.
Thus, Jiang Kekai closed her eyes for a nap, enjoying the comfort of having Xia Yu beside her, feeling more relaxed than ever.
In the afternoon, to not disturb Xia Yu, Xia Ling, and Jiang Hanhang’s campus life, Jiang Kekai kept the matter under wraps and let them carry on as usual.
Returning to class, Xia Yu felt reluctant to part ways with Sister Little Ning again. She wasn’t sure whether becoming more dependent on Sister Little Ning was good or bad.
“Hurry up. The bus has moved on, come back to reality!” Gao Xiaotian told her.
Xia Yu snapped back to the present, confirming Sister Little Ning’s departure.
“You know, I’m starting to doubt you’re cross-dressing,” Gao Xiaotian continued with a smile.
Xia Yu shifted her gaze to him, maintaining a neutral expression, “Why?”
“Well, Jiang Kekai is well-known and grew up in the spotlight since childhood. She can only be a girl.”
“She obviously likes you and you like her too. Given her background, it wouldn’t allow for homosexuality. Also, Jiang Hanhang prevented you from contacting Li Jia and Guo Yao, to prevent any infidelity towards Jiang Kekai. So I conclude, you must be a guy.”
This revelation surprised Xia Yu. She replied after a pause, “You’re indeed a big brain.”
Proudly, Gao Xiaotian added, “See? I am smarter. But for video games, I’d be in the top ten in my grade. Believe me?”
“Sure thing, big brain! Go for it!”
Frustrated, Xia Yu concluded that no one else could match up to his reasoning.
Meanwhile, Li Jia and Guo Yao arrived late and had tea with them, clearly having headed to the store before.
“To Xiao Yu, you’re not eating spicy, I got you tea. Your period just ended; ice cold should be fine.” Li Jia poured the drink on Xia Yu’s desk, surprising her greatly.
“Thanks…thanks.”
“Be less polite. You should take note and learn from Ruyao. She never refuses when I invite her.”
Gao Xiaotian, eyeing the drinks, begged, “How about me, we’ve known each other for years. How about inviting me for a drink too?”
Li Jia rolled her eyes, “Stop joking. We shouldn’t even call you out for being a freeloader. We don’t want any rumors harming your reputation, Gao Tiancai.”
“Then it’s unfair! I protest.”
“Protest invalid. Everyone knows Xiao Yu is cross-dressing, plus she’s our sister. How can you treat her the same way?”
Gao Xiaotian turned to Xia Yu, “Come on, look at their discrimination. Poor me, how about showing pity?”
Xia Yu understood his hint and replied, “I have handwashing aversion.”
“I know, so pour me some then.”
Hence, Gao Xiaotian shamelessly pulled out a plastic cup from his bag. Xia Yu reluctantly filled it.
This made Gao Xiaotian ecstatic. His plan worked!
Drinking it eagerly, “Thank you, brother.”
“Mhmm.”
For Xia Yu, it didn’t matter if Gao Xiaotian paid. But the word “brother” tugged at her heartstrings, bringing back nostalgic memories.
Soon, the substitute teacher entered the classroom.
Boredom set in as Xia Yu continued taking notes and playing with her toys during the dull class.
