The teacher wanted to borrow a tissue, and Xia Yu couldn’t refuse, could she? So she obediently handed over the special damp tissues that Xiao Ning had prepared for her.
He Gongxing didn’t bother with etiquette either and grabbed two at once to wipe his hands. The damp tissues were really effective against ink stains; just a few swipes and they were gone.
Seeing this, He Gongxing gradually calmed down, thinking secretly, “Girls sure are resourceful! Having all these useful tissues certainly makes things easier.” Then he turned around without another word, leaving through the back door, in and out in no time.
Back in the office, as expected, Jiang Kekai was still sitting on his desk, waiting for him: “Back already? Did you send everything?”
“I did, but I don’t get one thing. Why not send it yourself? Why use my name?”
“It’s complicated,” Jiang Kekai said nonchalantly, “but while I’m here, there’s something else I need to ask. I want to apply for a long leave for Xia Yu.”
“No problem, how long?”
Jiang Kekai was someone who even the principal had to treat with respect and win over, so He Gongxing, being just a class monitor, wouldn’t dare to offend her. With a grin, he asked, “How long exactly?”
Jiang Kekai got straight to the point: “Let’s apply till the end of the semester. I have some business to handle in Demon City and want to take her along. Her studies won’t suffer since I’ll personally help her catch up.”
“So much? Won’t the higher-ups…”
“Just put my name, they’ll agree. It’s too troublesome to handle alone. If necessary, pass it to the principal with my instruction.”
He Gongxing was left speechless by her small but authoritative demeanor: “Alright, stay safe. I’ll handle the rest.”
With a nod, Jiang Kekai left without hesitation.
Was she the legendary genius heiress Jiang Kekai? She sure had a commanding presence!
Without wasting time, He Gongxing contacted the principal, after all, it was too big an event not to inform him right away…
Indeed, Jiang Kekai had noticed a growing sense of unease in Peng City; she felt unsafe not just for herself but also for Xia Yu. Thus, she decided to take them on this business trip and a little vacation together.
In Demon City, the official anti-demon forces were second only to the capital, so rich troublemakers wouldn’t dare cause major disruptions. Getting caught would certainly dampen their fun.
This wasn’t a sudden idea from Jiang Kekai; she had been considering it for days after receiving business news from Demon City. It took her longer than expected because of thorough planning.
Now, she was determined to go.
“What? You’re taking Xia Yu to such a far place like Demon City?”
This was Xia Hong’s first reaction when he heard Jiang Kekai’s plan, quite excited.
“Absolutely, Peng City isn’t very safe anymore for either of us. This is a perfect chance to take Xia Yu on a trip and broaden her horizons.”
Still calm while eating, Jiang Kekai replied.
“What do you think, Xia Yu?” Wang Wenjuan glanced at Xia Yu.
“I’m good with whatever Xiao Ning decides. If she wants me to go, I’ll go.”
Xia Hong understood right away what Xia Yu meant; she did want to go but didn’t want to say it directly. After reflecting on the time Jiang Kekai and Xia Yu had spent together, Xia Hong sighed and agreed: “All right, you can go together. When do you leave?”
“Not yet,” Jiang Kekai remained indifferent.
“So soon?”
“Yes, we need to leave quickly so those troublemakers won’t suspect we’ve left.”
Wang Wenjuan had been preparing for Xia Yu’s departure, but hearing about their swift exit, she didn’t know what to do.
In the end, Wang Wenjuan managed to squeeze out: “Stay safe.”
“Sister, aren’t you forgetting your little sister? Can I come along too?”
Jiang Hanhang suddenly piped up, but her sister rolled her eyes: “No way, too much hassle.”
“But you’re taking Xia Yu, what’s the difference? I can look after myself!”
Jiang Hanhang abandoned her dinner, ran behind Jiang Kekai, and hugged her. She really wanted to go play. “Xia Yu and I are different. Don’t be silly, you’ll go plenty of times when you grow up. I won’t stop you.”
Seeing her sister was cold, Jiang Hanhang frowned: “Fine, you forget your own sisters. I’ll go and you can’t follow.”

Later, Jiang Kekai and Xia Yu started packing. They each grabbed a small suitcase, putting in essentials, knowing they could buy non-essentials in Demon City later. Meanwhile, Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang were in their room.
“Ling Ling, want to go to Demon City?” Jiang Hanhang asked while Xia Ling did her homework.
“Yeah, but that big j*rk is only taking my sister. Not like I have much choice.”
“Who says my sister has to take us? We can go ourselves. We have money.”
“I don’t have any money.”
“Mine’s yours,” Jiang Hanhang said boldly, remembering how she treated Xia Yu.
This caught Xia Ling’s attention, and she turned to look at her sprawled on the bed: “Really?” Jiang Hanhang, confident she owned many villas, was thrilled by Xia Yu’s reaction.
“You bet. Not every guy wants to hold onto me; you’d think you had leverage because you were bullying me. Now you see why I’m great!”
Xia Ling: “…”
Seeing Jiang Hanhang’s arrogance, Xia Ling snapped into action, jumping onto the bed and pinning the naughty girl down: “Yeah, I love you, Hanhan~”
Packing quick, they were ready within half an hour. Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan waited in the living room, of course wanting to send off their children.
Just as Xia Yu and Jiang Kekai were saying their final goodbyes, Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang showed up with messy hair.
“Glad you’re going. You’ll get a surprise later,” Xia Ling said.
“Just stay there. No surprises.”
Jiang Kekai smacked her sister lightly and then led Xia Yu hand-in-hand out of the house: “No need to send us off. Bye-bye.” The suitcases were already taken by the bodyguards.
In the elevator, Xia Yu asked Jiang Kekai, “Xiao Ning, what surprise did Hanhang mean? You sounded like you knew.”
“Oh, she meant following us secretly. Happens all the time.”
“What? And you let her?”
Jiang Kekai smiled and shook her head helplessly: “Her legs are her own. And she’s got money and bodyguards. Plus, she’s just a playgirl in the Jiang household. Safer where she goes.”
“I see, I didn’t know Hanhang was so capable.”
“She’s lucky, with connections anywhere. But yeah, she’s always building villas.”
Xia Yu: “. .. . .”

The elevator reached the underground parking lot.
“Miss, Master’s already at the airport, and the next flight’s reserved. Departure’s in an hour. We have plenty of time.”
Hearing Zhao Wei’s report, Xia Yu was curious again: “Xiao Ning, are Uncle and Aunt coming too?”
“Of course! If it were just for fun, why bring you along? My parents are handling big stuff there, and we’re learning and networking as well. Next, we’ll visit my company too.”
