Chapter 277

### Chapter 276: The Unlucky Jiang Hanhang

The game entered the hero selection interface, and Jiang Kekai began speaking again: “Xiao Yu doesn’t know how to play anything else. Let her have the support position, and I’ll take the jungle role.”

After saying this to Zhang Huilin and her teammates, Jiang Kekai turned to Xia Yu, commanding, “Xiao Yu, you play Yao, and just stay with me all the time. Don’t follow anyone else.”

The other teammates: “…”

They had wanted to assist Xia Yu in the game, but with Jiang Kekai being so hard to deal with, they could only turn their focus to Xia Yu. But… they didn’t expect Miss Jiang Kekai to be so ungrateful. This was indeed annoying.

Though they were unhappy, they had no choice but to wait for another opportunity. And thus, the game started.

At the same time, Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang also said goodbye to Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan before each grabbed their luggage and headed to the airport. On the way, Xia Ling started chatting idly with Jiang Hanhang, “Hanhang, do you think we’ll get caught if we go like this?”

“Yes,” Jiang Hanhang replied confidently.

“Well then, what if we look for them after we’re done playing? Won’t your parents be mad if you don’t tell them? They trust you so much?”

Jiang Hanhang couldn’t help but lift her chin proudly and said, “Believe it or not, I’ve never been kidnapped before. It’s always my older sister who gets kidnapped, so my parents really trust me.”

Seeing this, Xia Ling couldn’t stand it anymore and decided to rattle her a bit: “Don’t you wonder why?”

Jiang Hanhang wasn’t stupid. She quickly realized something and said, rather unhappily, “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“It means you’re useless!”

Hearing this, Xia Ling couldn’t stop laughing and preemptively grabbed Jiang Hanhang’s arm to prevent the ‘stupid loli’ from jumping up and trying to pinch her.

Even though Xia Ling had confidence in beating Jiang Hanhang, she didn’t enjoy fighting with her. Plus, if they wrestled, they’d end up with bruises while traveling; that would be quite embarrassing.

As Xia Ling suspected, once her arm was grabbed, Jiang Hanhang couldn’t pinch her, so she could only rely on verbal sparring: “You’re the useless one. If you have the guts, don’t let go of me. Otherwise, I’ll show you how powerful I am.”

“Oh my, I’m so scared!”

Xia Ling continued to provoke her, enjoying this moment.

Zhao Wei was still driving, unsurprised by the antics of the two behind her. After all, she had seen it too many times before and felt awkward reprimanding ‘Second Young Lady.’

The convoy slowly moved toward the airport.

Suddenly, at a crossroads, the first five cars were hit by three others running a red light. A big accident ensued…

Luckily, Zhao Wei’s car left a bit later and was not at the front; otherwise, she would have been the victim. Indeed, protecting young ladies was a high-risk job.

Experienced with such situations, Zhao Wei immediately instructed via headset, “Don’t stop, everyone. We’ve practiced for this. The most important thing now is to safely escort the Second Young Lady to the airport. Make sure no unknown vehicles approach my position.”

Zhao Wei then stepped on the gas pedal, bringing the car to 65 miles per hour—very close to the city’s speed limit.

Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling witnessed this and smirked. “See? Who said I was useless? Clearly, I’m too awesome for them to catch.”

Zhao Wei and Xia Ling:

“…”

“Alright, ladies, stop fooling around now. We’re on the highway, please put on your seatbelts in case something happens.”

Since Zhao Wei asked, Xia Ling loosened her grip on Jiang Hanhang and put on her own seatbelt. Life was precious.

But Jiang Hanhang wasn’t scared. Once she felt Xia Ling let go, she pounced back, trying to mirror Xia Ling’s earlier move to pin her down.

Just then, three more cars ran a red light, and two cars illegally turned right. If the first collision was an accident, the second certainly wasn’t.

“7th, 9th, and 10th, block those three cars. 12th, 13th, and 14th, directly ram those two turning in the wrong direction. Keep them away from me,” Zhao Wei commanded calmly.

“Yes, ma’am!”

Following Zhao Wei’s orders, six cars accelerated and purposefully obstructed the other vehicles. Boom boom booms!

Another series of collisions stopped the rogue vehicles, causing yet another large traffic accident.

Though there were many cars blocking the way, Zhao Wei didn’t slow down. Instead, she sped up, her car roaring. At the critical moment, she spun the wheel and pulled the handbrake, then steered in the opposite direction again and again, creating an impressive S-shaped drift that left dark tire marks, impressively completing the risky maneuver.

Inside the car, Jiang Hanhang wasn’t having it easy. Zhao Wei didn’t warn them about the high-speed drift, so she hadn’t prepared accordingly.

During the high-speed drift, the immense inertia threw Jiang Hanhang off Xia Ling and onto another side, making a loud thud. It hurt.

The S-bend drift subjected Jiang Hanhang to multiple directional forces, pushing her back into the window, causing a secondary injury. The sound gave away the severity of the jolt.

Realizing the risks, Jiang Hanhang quickly buckled her seatbelt, fearing further accidents.

Looking miserable and teary-eyed, Jiang Hanhang sat quietly. Xia Ling, seeing this, handed her a tissue and asked, “Are you okay?”

Jiang Hanhang snatched the tissue without hesitation, rubbing away the tears, clearly proud.

Seeing Jiang Hanhang’s attitude, Xia Ling thought everything was fine and started to joke again, “Still in pain? You should have listened to me and put on the seatbelt.”

Plucking the tissue away, Jiang Hanhang wiped her eyes and complained, “Why can’t you leave me alone?”

Zhao Wei:

“…”

Second Young Lady didn’t wear her seatbelt, ending up injured like this. Zhao Wei expected a longer period of tears, but Xia Ling’s intervention made it less severe. In the end, it turned out alright.

Without crossing the ten-eleven junction, nothing bad happened. Soon, Zhao Wei safely delivered Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang to the airport.

All the bodyguards remained vigilant after the incidents, leading Zhao Wei and Ah Cheng to temporarily request Jiang Bin to escort Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling to Demon City.

“Be careful.”

These words were exactly what Jiang Bin said.

Thus, Zhao Wei and Ah Cheng joined Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling on the passenger plane’s business class. With the whole cabin reserved, adding extra security was no problem.

Reserving the entire plane was too expensive and extravagant, especially when fewer people provided less security.

So, unless there was a pressing reason, nobody wanted to spend that much on private jets. Even with plenty of money, wasteful spending wasn’t smart.

Learning about her daughter’s predicament, Jiang Bin cut short his drinking. He puzzled over his daughter’s situation. “Why is my second daughter being targeted?”

“Mr. Jiang, what are you thinking about? Drink up! My turn to propose a toast. You’re blessed to have both a daughter and son. Let us share in your good fortune!”

“Absolutely, Mr. Jiang is lucky!”

“Here’s to you, Mr. Jiang!”

Previously, these flattering voices brought joy; now, they annoyed him.

With his daughter’s struggles, he found himself losing interest in continuing the revelry. Perhaps, he should tone things down.

Who knew? Perhaps encouraged by alcohol, he realized that his family was more important than wealth. Some rivalries could just be accepted.

Taking advantage of the tranquility of a quiet courtyard, Jiang Bin used his phone to call someone…
