Standing at the forefront of the Night Watchers was a mature and steady man, not much older than Bai Yuan.
This man looked serious at Bai Yuan and said, “Step back.”
Bai Yuan lifted his head and stared at him calmly, saying, “Xiao Jin, if you treat me as a brother, then let me through.”
“Because I still consider you a brother, I can’t let you go rogue!”
Xiao Jin, a Sunlight-level Night Watcher, was one of the strongest forces for breaking through defenses.
Bai Yuan knew that with Xiao Jin present, there was no way he could ever bring Ye Qingya away by force alone.

“Sorry, but I am first a Night Watcher. I cannot agree.”
Bai Yuan gritted his teeth. The energies from the Stars inside him were about to go out of control.
The surrounding temperature plummeted. The frosty wind was unbearable, and most Night Watchers lacked any extraordinary physical capabilities—they couldn’t withstand such cold.
Xiao Jin roared, “Bai Yuan! Are you going mad too?! Think about your daughter!”
“Qingya just wants to see Xiaoyu one last time, and even this small request you won’t allow?!” Bai Yuan roared back furiously.
Xiao Jin’s expression went blank, “What do you mean? Qingya has become a Star Eclipse. Do you want her to infect your daughter? Have you lost it?”
“I haven’t lost it! Qingya is trying her hardest to suppress herself while retaining her consciousness!”

Xiao Jin glanced at the figure in Bai Yuan’s arms. The black energy coming out of her did seem contained around her, barely affecting Bai Yuan.
He looked into her eyes; they weren’t as eerie as other Star Eclipses he had seen—instead, they were clear, full of emotions.
At this moment, a voice beside him rang out.
“Captain… The lifeforce of the person in Bai Yuan’s arms is weakening, and so is the Star Eclipse reaction…”
“What?!”
Bai Yuan also started noticing the fading spirit in the body he held.
“Qingya! Hold on, we’re almost there… just a bit more distance…”

Xiao Jin sighed silently, intending to pat Bai Yuan’s shoulder, but froze mid-motion.
Suddenly, a terrifying energy surged from within Bai Yuan, the horrifying Star Eclipse aura returning!
“Bai Yuan!” Xiao Jin shouted in fear.
Seeing this, Bai Yuan turned to look at Xiao Jin, his eyes devoid of light, as if his soul had died.
“Xiao Jin, take care of Baitu and Baiyu for me… please…”
In the next second, the Star Eclipse aura vanished like an illusion.
When everyone refocused on Bai Yuan, they realized his body had become an ice statue, equally silent.
At the moment Ye Qingya died, Bai Yuan’s Stars had gone berserk due to despair.
He chose to end his own life in that instant, joining his wife in d*ath.

Is this really how the story goes?
Just as Night Lan was feeling down, she felt something off with Baiyu.
In the hospital room.
Baiyu woke up from sleep instantly, clutching her hurting heart and tears streaming uncontrollably.
“Why… My heart hurts. It feels like something important is missing… Mama, Mama!”
Night Star sensed it.
There were cracks visible in Baiyu’s internal Stars.

“Baiyu…you finally woke up.”

“Four years.”
“Mom and Dad?” Her voice quivered, close to tears.
Baitu couldn’t lie to Baiyu anymore.
“Mom and Dad are gone.”

Baitu felt overwhelming guilt.
Her birth was beautiful; she had a relatively complete childhood.
She had a period where she received her parents’ complete love and could freely enjoy both maternal and paternal affection.
But not for Baiyu.
