“Hello! Is there a feast going on here? I’m just so starving I could eat a cow! Can I have a bowl of rice too?” The four girls were enjoying their meal when suddenly, an ancient voice disrupted their peace.
Naturally, all four girls looked up and saw an old man chatting with a staff member. He was clutching a burlap sack, likely a scavenger, and that really tugged at Xia Yu’s heartstrings.
“Of course, please come in and find a good spot to set your things,” the staff member said, proving that Jiang Kekai picked an excellent team. There were no disdainful looks aimed at the old man; he was treated like a respectable elder.
But the old man remained uneasy, fearing it was just a trick of the city folks. “So… is everything free to eat? Like, no money at all?”
“That’s right! Our boss is incredibly kind, so don’t worry; feel free to eat as much as you’d like, as long as you don’t waste any,” the staff member reassured him.
“Oh! In that case, many thanks to your boss!”
“Sure, just set your stuff down, and I’ll get you some utensils.”
“Okay!”

Watching the old man finally take a seat to eat made Xia Yu smile, not knowing why she had such a good heart. “Alright, Little Yu, stop staring; the food’s gonna get cold!”
Jiang Kekai’s voice brought Xia Yu back to reality, and with an embarrassed grin, she focused on her food. Even though it was communal rice, it tasted pretty good. Seeing Xia Yu like this, Jiang Kekai couldn’t help but chuckle; the little cutie was just too kind to manage, but all she needed was someone to protect her.
However, trouble was brewing.
“It’s them! Selling fast food at rock-bottom prices and throwing off the market balance! How are other restaurants supposed to survive?!”
Indeed, the fact that Jiang Kekai had allowed Xia Yu to open at such low prices was bound to ruffle some feathers among competitors. Just look, and here comes the market regulation bureau right after opening!
Seeing this, Jiang Kekai quietly pulled out her phone, dialing a number while patting Xia Yu’s little head. “Don’t worry; I’ll handle this.”
With that, she detoured into the kitchen….
Though Sister Little Ning wanted her to wait, Xia Yu was having none of it. After all, she was the boss here!
Almost immediately, Xia Yu stood up to assert her authority. Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang followed closely behind, like a mini army for morale support. “What’s going on? I’m the boss here, so bring it to me!”
The manager, overwhelmed by the situation, found comfort in Xia Yu stepping in. “She’s right; she’s the boss here. Anything you need to discuss can be brought up with her.”
However, the market regulation staff didn’t buy it. They looked at Xia Yu like she was the world’s smallest, most clueless CEO. “You expect us to believe a child like you is in charge?”
“I… really am the boss here!”
Xia Yu couldn’t help but envy Sister Little Ning’s commanding presence. No matter where she stood, people were always a bit intimidated.
Since Xia Yu remained stubborn, the staff took a more playful approach: “Alright then, since you claim to be the manager, let’s see if you can explain the various expenditures and the logistics around your operations, considering we have reports of unfair competition.”

With all those questions thrown at her, how was Xia Yu supposed to respond? Sister Little Ning usually handled those discussions, not her!
Seeing Xia Yu’s flustered state, the staff and some curious onlookers exchanged amused glances. After all, who could believe a kid was running a restaurant?
Finally, Jiang Hanhang couldn’t hold back any longer and pulled Xia Ling up with her: “Could you explain what you mean by disrupting market balance?”
“Undercutting prices to attract customers using dishonest means, driving local businesses out of profit; isn’t that disrupting market balance?”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Hanhang couldn’t help but laugh, pointing out the paper taped to the glass door. “Is that what you call unfair competition? Forget about profits or losses for a second; just look at how many people are actually eating here!”
Naturally, to prevent greedy overindulgence, takeout meals couldn’t be self-served. It was only in-house dining that allowed for second servings, meaning aside from a few aimless kids and our scavenger friend, hardly anyone preferred eating there.
Thinking it over, and glancing around the nearly empty restaurant aside from the staff and that elderly gentleman, the staff were left speechless. “Even if you’re doing good deeds, you can’t set prices like this. It’s way too low and disrupts the local economy!”
“What? You think raising prices will not have competitors?!” Jiang Kekai popped out, without a disguise, boldly striding into the scene. Always a person of interest, she had frequently appeared on TV, and her notoriety as a brilliant young lady often made headlines; people recognized her.
But to confirm they weren’t mistaken, one of the oversight personnel asked, “What’s your name?”
“How audacious!”
At that, Jiang Hanhang rushed to her sister’s side, declaring, “You seriously don’t know who my sister is? That’s the famous Young Lady Jiang! Mess with her and you’re done for!”
