Chapter 295

### Chapter 294: What’s That Got to Do with Me?

After packing everything and heading out, Jiang Kekai was caught off guard when she saw strawberries on Jiang Hanhang’s face. But then she glanced at Little Ling, and it all clicked in place. “I mean, why didn’t I believe that Hanhang couldn’t beat Little Ling?” she muttered.

Jiang Kekai didn’t question her sister too much. She just patted her head consolingly, “Did you get everything? Let’s head back.” “Of course, I’m not forgetful like that! So stop worrying, big sis.”

Despite having bruises from Xia Ling, Jiang Hanhang remained as optimistic as ever. Xia Yu felt slightly envious; she wished she could be as positive as Jiang Hanhang.

Jiang Kekai patted Xia Yu’s small head and took her hand, leading them on: “Alright, we’re going home now. Next time, I’ll take you up north to see the snow.”

Meanwhile, Jiang Bin and Zhang Yunzhi had finished talking with some business partners and returned to their solitary dining table. “What’s wrong?”

Jiang Bin noticed his son seemed down, and recalling his eldest daughter’s behavior, he figured Jiang Dong must’ve had a falling out with the girls. Jiang Dong thought his dad knew everything, but decided to stand firm, “Whatever I said, they can go if they want. It’s none of my business, anyway.”

Well, Jiang Dong had inadvertently confessed. Jiang Bin realized Jiang Kekai leaving had something to do With Jiang Dong: “So, your sisters really left because of what you did? What did you say, exactly?”

Jiang Dong looked at his father, “Didn’t you already know?”

“No, all she said was that they went back to Peng City. I have no idea what happened between you.”

He hadn’t expected Jiang Kekai to hide the truth, but now Jiang Dong felt compelled to explain, “I just mentioned how delicate Xia Yu can be, and that was that. She used to be a guy, and now she acts so weak—it’s gross.”

Jiang Bin and Zhang Yunzhi exchanged glances. They understood why Jiang Dong disliked Xia Yu; not everyone could accept someone like that.

But Jiang Bin didn’t scold his son much, “I understand. If you don’t like them, avoid them. Since little Kekai likes Xia Yu, it’s best you keep your feelings to yourself.”

“Okay.”

Jiang Bin sighed, accepting they were stuck with her, “Pity Kekai had to leave now. She’d probably hate this place in any case.”

Back in Peng City, everything went smoothly. The girls safely returned, but it was already late. No telling if Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan were asleep yet. After changing trains, the group arrived back at their neighborhood.

The fingerprint lock was a lifesaver. The girls didn’t need keys; each had access through fingerprint verification. As they turned on the lights, Xia Ling let out a sigh of relief: “Finally back. I miss my bed.”

“What’s wrong? My bed not big enough?” Jiang Hanhang grumbled.

“But mine is more comfortable.”

“You…”

Little Ling had been awakened by the commotion outside with Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan. Xia Hong froze when he saw Xia Yu dressed cutely, in cute girl’s clothes. He had never seen such an adorable look.

Despite the cold, Jiang Kekai wouldn’t let Xia Yu suffer. She didn’t mind dressing her up.

Xia Hong quickly accepted this reality, “Why didn’t anyone tell us you guys were coming back? Did you eat dinner?”

“Not necessary,” Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan replied tiredly but happily, “Go to sleep, you kids should rest too.”

Jiang Kekai led Xia Yu off to their room, while two bodyguards followed with the luggage. Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan found the scene odd but couldn’t place why. It was too late for anything else, so they headed to bed.

Once settled, Jiang Kekai noticed Xia Yu still looking down. She sighed, “Xiao Yu, smile for me?” Xia Yu wanted to, but couldn’t. Jiang Kekai decided not to push it and took her for a nice warm bath.

Carrying the now sweet-smelling little one, she remembered today’s events, wishing they hadn’t happened. Xia Yu might’ve laughed otherwise.

But Xia Yu spoke up, “Xiao Kekai-nee?”

“Yep, what’s up?”

“I want to try being a boy again,” Xia Yu said hesitantly.

“What do you mean?” Jiang Kekai was confused. Being a boy again? But Xia Yu clarified, “I want to live as a guy again. I was once a boy, after all.”

“Past is past, present is now,” Jiang Kekai mused aloud. She wanted to understand but couldn’t.

Not wanting to upset her, Jiang Kekai just nodded, “If it makes you happy… Do what you want.”

Next morning, Xia Yu dressed as a handsome dude, but borrowed Jiang Kekai’s outfit as usual. Jiang Kekai helped make a sleek high ponytail.

“Ready to hit the road?”

As Xia Yu sat at the dresser lost in her thoughts, Jiang Kekai smiled, “No matter what, you still love beauty.”

They went to wash up before bumping into Xia Le watching TV. He looked conflicted, remembering Lin Jie’s words, and felt increasingly unhappy with Jiang Kekai.

Silently, Xia Yu wondered why her big brother was so cold. As they finished washing, Jiang Kekai went to wake up Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling.

“Ugh, why are you guys in here?” Xia Ling groaned, pulling the blanket over herself more.

“Up, brush, breakfast,” Jiang Kekai said firmly, dragging them to get ready.

“I want takeout,” Jiang Hanhang protested, nestling closer to Xia Ling.

“Nope, we’re eating together.”

Jiang Hanhang tried to cuddle more, “If you go out without me, I’ll get cold!”

But Xia Ling ignored it, “That’s not my problem.”
