Chapter 5: Taking Action
When the Star Eclipse unleashed its explosive power, the headquarters received the news with a gasp.
“Airspace restriction? d*mn, how can it have that effect? Even if we escape its area, taking off again would be impossible at this speed—we’d just crash!”
Thankfully, modern technology had already created top-of-the-line systems to prevent large objects from plummeting.
That was just one layer of security. There were also strong Night Watchers who could stabilize planes in the air using stellar powers.
But the real problem was the Star Eclipse embodiment in the sky. If its domain could restrict flight, then nobody could get close.
If the concept of “airspace restriction” meant nothing could take off, remote attacks wouldn’t do much good either.
Just as everyone was brainstorming, another blaring alarm rang through the base.
“Alert! Ultra Star Eclipse ‘Audience Etiquette’ has appeared—location: above!”
At this, all the Night Watchers froze in shock.
“Audience Etiquette?!”
Another Ultra Star Eclipse!
And right above the capital!
What the heck was happening?!
While the Night Watchers were scratching their heads in confusion, the leader in the office gasped.
“Summoning an Ultra Star Eclipse in a crisis? Now that’s bold.”
This was a maneuver one rarely sees…
As for that “Audience Etiquette,” it had to be the group leader of the Rising Sun Theater, right?
When an audience performer is in danger, she comes running for her—talk about initiative!
At least it wasn’t the whole troupe that showed up; otherwise, it would’ve been pure chaos.
With the group leader already in play, Night Lan’s safety was a non-issue, but how would they resolve this?
Shift the scene.
High above in the sky.
A figure stood atop a falling plane, motionless despite the resistance pushing against him, looking as stable as a rock.
Dressed like a magician, he gazed at the floating Star Eclipse in the sky, surrounded by swirling black feathers that appeared out of nowhere.
As the feathers spun faster and faster, the group leader vanished, only to reappear before the Star Eclipse.
“Who are you?!”
As the black feathers dispersed, the leader wasted no time, reaching out with one hand to grab the Star Eclipse’s head, his expression completely indifferent.
“You!” the Star Eclipse gasped, wide-eyed with terror.
The leader didn’t waste a breath. He jabbed his other hand straight through the Eclipse’s chest like a hot kn*fe through butter.
In the next second, the Star Eclipse’s eyes bulged, feeling its strength swiftly draining away while its domain shrank rapidly.
“Let’s make you a part of the show.”
After that statement, the Star Eclipse’s body vanished and transformed into a black feather, which the leader caught impressively in his hand.
Then, he too disappeared in a flash.
Shift the scene again.
One by one, black feathers appeared inside the plane, unnoticed by anyone.
Because those feathers manifested right by someone, instantly whisking her away.
Night Feather seemed to sense something amiss; she turned her head only to find Night Lan had, without warning, vanished into thin air.
“Eh?”
With the Star Eclipse’s domain now gone, the plane had already entered the city’s airspace—taking off again was definitely off the table.
Meanwhile, citizens in the streets looked up in horror, seeing a plane plummeting at breakneck speed toward the city.
“Holy cr*p! This is a rare sight!”
“The crash zone seems to be right here…”
“Who cares! Get the hell out of the way!”
Panic spread like wildfire, with citizens fleeing as if two extra legs would help them escape faster.
Just then, various flying vehicles swooped into the sky, rapidly heading toward the falling plane.
If the plane continued its dive at this speed, it was game over.
But someone could keep it from crashing—at least for the moment.
Not far away, a Sunlight Night Watcher extended both hands, powerful energy erupting from within.
“Stop!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, the descending plane began to slow down and eventually came to a complete halt, hovering eerily a few hundred meters above ground.
Telekinesis.
That was the power the Sunlight Night Watcher used to stop the plane. With a full blast from the A-level mental power of the Sunlight Star, he barely managed to hold the plane in place.
But this couldn’t last long. Fortunately, there was no need for him to hold it for too long.
Once the plane was suspended in the air, a swarm of flying devices rushed in, connecting with the plane to support its weight.
Then, with the Sunlight Night Watcher’s power fading, the flying devices activated maximum thrust, hauling the plane back up into a safe position.
Once the transfer was complete, they transported it to the airport. Crisis averted!
The Night Watchers finally breathed a sigh of relief and shifted their attention to the Star Eclipse.
However, they found that the Eclipse’s presence had vanished entirely.
Even the recently appeared “Audience Etiquette” had disappeared without a trace.
A bit later, the plane was safely on the runway, with personnel setting up barriers to keep onlookers at bay.
Medical staff waited outside the plane, ready for emergencies.
Soon, passengers started stepping off, many looking shell-shocked, clearly having had a scare.
In this era, plane accidents were genuinely rare.
To encounter such a situation due to external factors was truly unique.
Among them, Night Feather calmly landed with the help of rescue personnel, not as flustered as the rest.
She was pondering where Night Lan had disappeared to. A glance around the plane confirmed she was gone, as if she’d just vanished into thin air.
Could it be her stellar powers at work?
She must have sensed the danger and booked it.
“Seriously, she’s so timid! With me around, how could there be any danger? After all, she’s just a mere mortal.”
Muttering to herself, Night Feather followed the headquarters’ Night Watchers back to the base.
Meanwhile, a nearby Sunlight Night Watcher was fixated on the plane’s exit, scanning for the leader’s missing target. After everyone had disembarked, he found the leader’s desired person was still missing.
“Hmmm…?”
Just as doubts crept in, the leader suddenly sent a message.
“No need to search; she’s safe now. Don’t spread the news about her disappearance. Just regroup.”
“Understood.”
Following the leader’s orders, the Night Watcher quickly gathered his team and returned to the base.
Meanwhile…
In the Rising Sun Theater.
Night Lan appeared among the troupe members waiting, who immediately relaxed upon seeing she was unharmed.
The gentleman smiled in relief.
“I heard the audience performer’s call for help, thought something terrible happened. Glad to see it’s all good.”
Night Lan also began to relax, turning to the group leader beside her.
“Well, thanks so much for your help, really appreciate it!”
“No problem; it was my duty.”
Yet there was one thing Night Lan really wanted to quip about—how the group leader only saved her, ignoring everyone else.
Not that she wanted him to rescue the entire troupe.
But only saving her? When everyone found out she was the only one missing, wouldn’t that seem off?
Alright then, Night Lan steeled herself for a potential gank.
Let’s hope she stays safe!
