Chapter 32: Handling and Arranging
“Enough… enough~”
In the end, Night Lan still couldn’t resist White Fish’s clingy and affectionate behavior. The next second, she blushed and pushed her away.
Men and women shouldn’t be too close… wait, no.
Which cadre could withstand these tests?
This is different from just hugging someone; she was still quite anxious about it.
“White Fish, you…”
“Haha~ My body has completely recovered, you know.”
“Really? How did you recover?” Night Lan was somewhat curious.
“Hmm~ Guess!”
White Fish hugged Night Lan even tighter than before, getting more intimate with her every second.
Then, someone walked in from outside, none other than White Paint, who had just finished fixing her makeup.
Seeing Night Lan, White Paint’s eyes softened almost instantly.
She had been pouring all her energy into finding hope, but somehow the hope found her instead.
How should she put this?
But she also brought news.
“Night Lan, our boss wants to see you.”
“Boss? You mean the owner?” Night Lan looked puzzled, trying to push away the clingy White Fish.
“Yes, your Star seems to have gone rogue.”
“Rogue?”
Night Lan didn’t understand what ‘rogue’ meant in this context.
Seeing Night Lan’s puzzled look, White Paint enlightened her a bit.
“You didn’t go back in time and change history? You sent White Fish to her mom at the last moment, making her body get healthy again. That’s amazing.”
“What!?”
Night Lan’s mouth slightly opened as she was utterly shocked.
“So yesterday wasn’t a dream? I thought I was just dreaming. But it turned out to be real…”
By the way, she felt like she cursed out a bunch of big shots.
Saying things like ‘those evil Night Watchers do nothing but bad stuff,’ she wondered if she had offended them.
If they decided to make her life miserable, she’d better run now!
“Why?”
Night Lan fidgeted, feeling a bit guilty.
“Because I kind of cursed some seniors and got scared.”
“Don’t worry, I think they won’t mind. The Night Watchers are usually pretty forgiving.”
“Really?” Night Lan’s face lit up with hope.
White Paint pondered for a few seconds.
“Probably.”
…
Then Night Lan was taken by White Paint to a place where there were a lot of people, about a dozen.
“Uh…”
Being stared at by twelve strangers made Night Lan a bit nervous, so she didn’t dare say a word.
Xiao Jin stepped forward and asked kindly, “Are you Night Lan?”
“Yeah, are you the boss?”
Night Lan barely knew this uncle, but he seemed harmless.
Then another person approached them, seemingly an older young man.
“Hey there, kiddo, do you remember me?” Wang Chao smiled, looking like he wanted to kidnap children.
“Uh?”
Night Lan didn’t recognize this guy either and seriously considered saying, “Who are you again?”
Wang Chao saw the blank look on Night Lan’s face and laughed, reminding her.
“Hahaha, guess not. Just a reminder, I’m one of those Night Watchers you cursed for doing horrible things. Recognize me now?”
“Eh? Sorry!”
Still no memory of it, though.
Regardless, saying sorry first wouldn’t hurt.
However, Wang Chao just shrugged indifferently.
“It’s okay, I even think you’re right. When facing them later, just stand up straight, don’t be afraid. If they give you trouble, just ‘ah duh duh duel’—it works every time.”
“Ahh duh duh duel?”
“Ahh duh duh duel, that’s it.”
Xiao Jin watched nervously as Wang Chao acted like he was teaching the kids bad habits. He almost kicked him for being so irresponsible.
This wasn’t supposed to be a Sunlight Night Watcher; even a j*rk would know better.
“Cough cough.”
Xiao Jin cleared his throat, pulling Wang Chao back to seriousness.
Jokes aside, this matter was serious.
“Night Lan, sit down. Would you like anything to drink?”
“Yeah… could I have some black tea?”
“Sure.”
Xiao Jin asked someone to bring a cup of black tea.
Night Lan sipped it nervously, feeling a bit tense inside.
She knew she had probably done something terrible.
“Actually, what brings you here today?”
“This is about your Star matter. We’ve never encountered such a Star before. Could you tell me how you managed to do this?”
Night Lan knew Xiao Jin was asking about the ‘dream’ thing.
Was she going back in time?
“I don’t really know, I just went to sleep and woke up somewhere else.”
“Can you describe the situation in detail for us?”
“Um… it was like this.”
Night Lan recounted her experience, watching helplessly until the end when she intervened and woke up from her bed, feeling very tired and disoriented, as if she had a very real dream.
After listening to Xiao Jin’s thoughtful pause,
“What are the conditions, the prerequisite to use a Star? Before this, did you do anything special?”
“Yeah… actually, I heard from Senior White Paint about the Wish Machine. I thought if I were a Wish Machine, I would definitely help White Fish realize her wish. That’s about it…”
Wish Machine?!
Hearing this term, everyone present’s eyes widened.
How could they not know the meaning of this term?
That was the specified ‘Know Star’ confirmed Extraordinary Star, capable reaching Supernova levels, dangerously unpredictable.
Could this little girl be the carrier of that Star?
Suddenly, everyone’s eyes turned fiery.
They had been searching high and low, spending many resources to find it; they hadn’t expected their target to be right in front of them, even offering herself!
Xiao Jin analyzed in his head how absurd the effects of the Wish Machine were. If it went out of control, there could be another disaster.
But looking at Night Lan’s adorable face… maybe there was no need to worry.
The more powerful the ability, the higher the uncertainty, and the greater the risk involved.
According to the usual routine of the Night Watchers, any discovery should be contained and controlled—much like an amnesty plan—plus multiple assurances needed.
But Night Lan was already a Night Watcher. How should they handle her moving forward?
No experience dealing with a Supernova-level Extraordinary Star; although they had plenty of experience with Supernova eclipses.
Just as Xiao Jin was in deep thought, his communicator buzzed.
Looking at it, he noticed a long-absent Leave-of-Absence Sunlight Tier Night Watcher; some annoying person.
“I’ll step out for a minute,” Xiao Jin walked away.
“Hello, what’s the matter?”
“Hey, are you guys stressing over how to handle that little girl with the Extraordinary Star?”
“How did you know?”
Thinking about this guy’s abilities, Xiao Jin quickly got the point and grimaced.
“Don’t get hung up on details. Let me give my advice, okay?”
