Chapter 33: Cozy Sleepover
Seeing Xia Yu like that, Xia Ling couldn’t help but try to wake her up, but as she was about to shake her, Xia Ling… hesitated. She didn’t know why, but she just couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Resignedly, Xia Ling tiptoed over, opened her bedroom door, and eavesdropped outside to check if the TV was still on and if her parents were in bed.
Relieved that her parents had gone to sleep, Xia Ling sighed inwardly. That meant Xia Yu could stay over at her place tonight.
Though they had shared a bed before, it was ages ago. As for when they started sleeping separately, it was all a blur.
But Xia Ling was sure of one thing now: she wanted to sleep with Xia Yu. Since Xia Yu wasn’t a boy anymore, they wouldn’t have to worry about silly gender rules.
Quietly closing the door, Xia Ling climbed into bed and gently adjusted Xia Yu’s position, who was already asleep. She truly seemed like an older sister.
After turning off the lights and covering both of them, Xia Ling drifted off to dreamland…
She couldn’t tell if it was because her princess bed was extra comfy or because someone was snuggling next to her, but Xia Yu slept like a baby that night.
Xia Ling felt the same cozy warmth.
The next morning, Xia Yu groggily woke up and noticed a warm sensation behind her. She was being hugged!
In an instant, she remembered everything—the homework session at Xia Ling’s room last night.
When she turned around, sure enough, her hug bomber was none other than her younger sister Xia Ling.
Perhaps Xia Yu’s movements stirred Xia Ling awake, but she clearly remembered last night’s events.
Opening her eyes, seeing Xia Yu watching her, Xia Ling warmly greeted, “Good morning, sis! How was your sleep?”
Maybe it was leftover male thoughts, but Xia Yu found Xia Ling’s greeting awkward, “Uh… It was okay?”
Actually, she wanted to say it was great, but feared Xia Ling might assume she had a weird f*tish. So, she gave a vague response.
Xia Ling was puzzled—wasn’t she supposed to be relaxed after sleeping? What was with this embarrassment?
But deciding to keep her thoughts to herself, Xia Ling let go of Xia Yu and said, “Alright then, sis. Time to brush your teeth. Don’t forget we’ve got relatives to visit later!”
Xia Yu didn’t protest and shuffled out in slippers, ready to clean her teeth since she dreaded her parents noticing their night cuddle.
Though no scolding was guaranteed, she preferred avoiding conflict.
Luckily, upon leaving the room, she found her parents still sound asleep on the second floor.
