### Chapter 360: Talent
“Little Yu, wake up~”
Woken by a familiar voice, Xia Yu glanced out the window and realized they had indeed landed. She felt so relaxed and comfortable.
Still feeling a bit drowsy, she yawned and then got up from Sister Little Ning’s lap, wanting to mess with her a bit: “Little Ning Sister, good evening.”
Jiang Kekai just stared at her in silence.
Looking at such a playful cute girl, what could Jiang Kekai do but indulge her? She cupped Xia Yu’s face and rubbed it vigorously.
Jiang Kekai woke up feeling much better after taking a nap and having this adorable little cutie amuse her.
“All right, let’s go home for more fun later. It’s time to get off the plane now,” Xia Yu said.
Xia Hanhang’s exasperated voice brought Jiang Kekai back to reality. She realized she had almost gotten lectured by her younger sister: “Okay, you and Little Ling go on ahead. Xiao Yu and I will catch up.”
“Come on, hurry up.”
Seeing Jiang Kekai and Xia Yu act this way, Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang were used to it, so they didn’t stick around to watch the “petting show.”
True to form, Jiang Kekai held Xia Yu’s hand and they both got off the plane.
As expected, it was quite dark outside. After all, each flight took about two hours, and they came here just to have dinner.
Fortunately, they had their own car. As soon as they got off, they were taken directly back to the Xia family home.
The only unpleasant thing for Jiang Kekai today was running into Long Qian. She didn’t know why that girl had such a bad attitude, thinking she could snatch Xia Yu away.
“Intentions to harm others must not be harbored, and one must always be on guard.”
Realizing this, Jiang Kekai pulled out her phone and asked her subordinates in Capital City to secretly gather information on Long Qian to see what she was up to.
Upon arriving home, the four girls immediately smelled delicious food coming from the kitchen; another meal was ready—nothing like Master Chen’s cooking.
Sure enough, the next second, Master Chen came out of the kitchen with a platter of white-cut goose, which smelled divine.
“Good evening, Master!”
Xia Yu greeted politely with a smile.
But Master Chen didn’t seem very pleased.
“Just back? It’s still early, go have dinner first. Then come over to my place to learn cooking, okay?”
Master Chen looked fierce, making Xia Yu too scared to even think of refusing: “Okay.”
Seeing her agreement, Master Chen’s expression softened: “Don’t slack off. Other people would k*ll to learn under me, and I already lowered my standards for you.”
“Got it.”
Gosh, this master was too mean!
Then, Master Chen quickly left after bidding farewell to Xia Hong and Jiang Kekai.
Xia Yu recalled how busy Master Chen had been in the kitchen. She suddenly understood why he had rushed off so quickly.
“Aren’t there other people who can cook? You just left.”
She was lightly tapped on the head, then Xia Yu snapped out of it: “Okay, okay. Let’s eat.”
Soon, the eager little Xia Yu helped get the chopsticks and bowls ready, and everyone started to have dinner…
During the meal, something seemed to be troubling Xia Hong. Finally, he hesitated and looked at Xia Yu and Jiang Kekai:
“Little Ning, does it fall to Little Yu to cook tomorrow?”
“Yeah, why?”
“In truth, I want to invite some friends over for drinks tomorrow. Can we ask Master Chen to handle the cooking? I’d like to try some different dishes for guests.”
Hearing this, Xia Yu felt a little upset. Her dad didn’t really trust her.
Jiang Kekai couldn’t help but indulge in a smile, easily guessing Xia Yu’s thoughts.
However, she treated this matter seriously since it involved her future father-in-law: “How many people? What kind of dishes do you want? I’ll make sure they’re prepared.”
“What about kidneys?”
“What are kidneys?”
Xia Yu curiously looked at Little Ning Sister like a curious child. She was still young and hadn’t graduated from elementary school yet, so she didn’t understand everything.
Jiang Kekai didn’t answer Xia Yu’s question but instead tapped her on the head: “Children shouldn’t ask such questions.”
Xia Yu just stared in disbelief…
After handling Xiao Yu’s query, Jiang Kekai turned back to Xia Hong: “I’ll give you Master Chen’s contact info shortly. Whatever you want him to prepare, tell him. Just don’t waste any ingredients.”
Jiang Kekai acted so carefree! Clearly, she was a rich man’s daughter.
Xia Hong was elated, thinking about how lucky Xia Yu was to have someone capable of handling her requests.
But Xia Yu had never heard of the term ‘kidneys’ before. Seeing how sensitive Little Ning Sister seemed, Xia Yu became even more curious.
After dinner, Jiang Kekai planned to bring Xia Yu to learn cooking together.
Since Xia Yu was such a timid child, Jiang Kekai had to take her along.
So, Xia Yu thought to herself, she might as well just ask the cooks in the kitchen what ‘kidneys’ were.
At the right moment, Xia Yu asked Master Chen: “What exactly are kidneys? Are they good to eat?”
Her voice rang loud and clear, despite the clamor in the kitchen. Soon, every chef and staff member in the kitchen turned to look at her.
Master Chen saw Xia Yu’s curious eyes and guessed she wanted an answer: “Kidneys? Do you want to eat them?”
“What is it? Is it a tasty fruit? Dad mentioned it could be used in wine, so I asked Little Ning Sister, but she wouldn’t tell me.”
Seeing Xia Yu’s curiosity, Master Chen answered vaguely, just like Jiang Kekai did earlier: “Kids, don’t ask. You’ll find out when you grow older.”
Xia Yu pouted, “Little Yu is so cute. I thought you wanted to eat it yourself, but actually, your dad wants to.”
“Shut up and get back to work,” Master Chen barked at the chefs who were making jokes.
They instantly returned to work, and Xia Yu decided not to further provoke Master Chen. If she wasn’t getting answers, she’d look it up herself later.
After enduring two hours, Xia Yu felt liberated when it was late evening. Fortunately, there wasn’t school tomorrow, or she’d be in trouble.
Watching Xia Yu disappear around the corner, Master Chen finally cracked a rare smile. Xia Yu worked hard and diligently, and the results impressed him.
He had raised his standards for Xia Yu, asking her to stay and train tonight to ensure she used time wisely.
With her current age, this was the perfect time for Xia Yu to learn new skills.
Back home, Xia Yu went straight to their princess bed and hugged her teddy bear tightly.
She wondered how tiring her day had been.
Jiang Kekai followed closely, but unlike Xia Yu, she sat down normally and settled down: “Little Yu, still cuddling with the bear? Come on, it’s time to sleep.”
Just as she turned off the light, Jiang Kekai’s computer beeped.
It was the notification sound for new emails, and this computer was only used for work-related or personal important matters.
Unable to focus until she checked, Jiang Kekai got up again to turn on the light and open her laptop. Xia Yu, bored, held her teddy bear and followed her up, sitting by Jiang Kekai’s side.
Yawning, Xia Yu softly asked, “Little Ning Sister, who’s contacting you at this hour? Tomorrow’s fine for work.”
“Not work.”
Then, Jiang Kekai moved her laptop between them: “Aren’t you curious about the girl with crutches we met today? Her identity has been figured out now.”
Xia Yu examined the detailed report, noting the girl’s age matched hers…
Seeing Li Yang’s history over the past six months, both Jiang Kekai and Xia Yu couldn’t help but become stern. How could the Ouyang family treat a child so cruelly?
Jiang Kekai also found scant information on Li Yang’s past—only that she had a foster father named Yang Wen. But Jiang Kekai didn’t just want to interfere. She was merely concerned if Niyang posed any threat to the Jiang family.
Jiang Kekai closed the laptop and carried Xia Yu back to the princess bed, saying: “Didn’t you say you’re tired? Want to play games instead?”
“Games?”
Xia Yu suddenly remembered what Jiang Kekai had done to her yesterday, her ears blushing. The next second, she buried her face into the giant teddy bear: “No thanks, I’m going to sleep.”
