### Chapter 35: I Figured It Out
Night Lan came to Zero Meow’s room for some knowledge absorption.
After all, the boss had ordered her to get a handle on her Star powers quickly.
But poor little Night Lan only knew the basics, so she still needed to learn more to unlock her true potential.
Sure, maybe she could use “The I Figured It Out” Force and it would work instantly. Maybe.
She could also study by herself, but it was so boring. Plus, she might not understand some things and having someone explain them could be more efficient.
In any case, if left to her own devices, she’d probably just sneak off to nap before even five minutes were up.
That’s the spirit, get lazy quickly.
Zero Meow, however, was more than happy to teach Night Lan. This way, she could establish her seniority and make Night Lan subconsciously believe that whatever Zero Meow said must be correct. Then she could use more sneaky tricks on her.
It got her all excited just thinking about it.
White Fish also needed to know some common sense stuff.
Her family were all Night Watchers, and she owned a Star too; becoming one was inevitable.
Doing some homework in advance would be a smart move.
However, White Fish wanted to hang out with Night Lan even more.
She noticed something too – Zero Meow had become overly aggressive towards Night Lan!
If she wasn’t there to protect her, Night Lan was at serious risk of getting “bullied.”
Zero Meow was quite perceptive about relationships.
So she decided to stick close to Night Lan and defend her friend at all costs.
“Grrr… White Fish, why are you staring at me like that?” Zero Meow finally noticed her strange gaze.
“Hmm? Am I?” White Fish smiled.
“Yes, I can feel it.”
“No way!”
“Not at all, I totally can feel it!”
Zero Meow felt something was definitely off.
The scrutiny in White Fish’s eyes seemed to warn her against doing anything suspicious.
But honestly, she hadn’t done anything! She just kept looking at Night Lan and occasionally laughed creepily.
[Ah grr, though White Fish is younger and super cute, she’s giving an intense vibe, kinda like White Paint’s stare. Not surprising since they’re sisters.]
If White Fish was always around Night Lan, Zero Meow wouldn’t dare bother her.
Awaaaah…
Night Lan checked the time.
“It’s three o’clock, how about we get some afternoon tea?”
Night Lan had asked the rich White Paint for loads of cash after promising to buy all her snacks. Whatever she wanted, it was covered. She was super generous.
Night Lan stared at the long number on her account, stunned. That wasn’t just enough for snacks; it could probably cover her food bills for a lifetime.
That’s a rich girl for you!
Sometimes, Night Lan felt like she was being taken care of.
“Hmmm? Snacks, you say? Sure thing, my belly’s growling.” Zero Meow licked her lips, already looking forward to it.
Naturally, Zero Meow was thrilled about Night Lan’s invitation.
“Mmhm,” White Fish nodded in agreement.
Then, the trio of loli marched to the pastry shop, creating a picturesque scene that earned plenty of glances from the Night Watchers.
After reaching the pastry shop, the three settled around a table.
Not long after, a robot approached.
“What can I do for you, guests?”
Night Lan thought for a bit.
“First, let’s get some drinks?”
Excitedly, Zero Meow raised a hand. “I want lemonade, lots of ice please!”
White Fish pondered then smiled, “Then I’ll have orange juice.”
Night Lan hesitated but finally ordered a drink as well.
“I’ll take watermelon juice.”
“Just a moment.”
The robot didn’t leave, perhaps sending the order elsewhere.
Night Lan and the others began contemplating what pastries to order from the extensive menu.
Watching the two adorable little lolis, Night Lan couldn’t help but sigh internally.
From turning into a loli to now, she’d made quite a few friends.
And they were such fun ones too.
Why they’re all lolis, she wondered. Was she somehow attractive to lolis?
Nah, not because she was a loli fan. More like weird fate!
This life of hers… actually felt pretty good.
—
At home.
Gugugu~
The starving Night Star was at it again.
Whenever Night Lan ate, Night Star always ended up feeling hungry and needing to scavenge for food.
As she searched the pantry for snacks, a knock resounded.
“Whoa?”
Night Star had no visitors, excluding friends, so it must be the neighbor.
“Night Star, are you in? I made too many sweets and want to share some with you.”
With a friendly voice, Mo Tu confirmed Night Star’s suspicions.
What a peculiar neighbor he was. Just when she needed food, he appeared out of nowhere, delivering treats.
“Um…” After a brief consideration, Night Star opened the door.
To her surprise, standing at the doorway was the black-haired youth who often showed up unannounced.
“Why do you always end up making extra sweets every time?” he wondered aloud.
“…”
Mo Tu fell silent.
Curious, Night Star awaited his explanation.
“Well… I don’t really know. Perhaps I unconsciously want to share, so I end up making extra.”
“Well, that makes sense.”
Night Star understood that feeling.
When she was in school, she would always buy extra snacks to share with her dorm mates.
Now, did Mo Tu think of sharing with her while making the sweets?
Unless he had ulterior motives, he was truly a great neighbor.
“Thank you, I’ll take them.”
Embarrassed, Night Star took the sweets.
“You’re welcome. If you need help with anything later, just come find me.”
“Mm.”
Then, Mo Tu turned and left.
Back in her room with her warm pastries, Night Star opened the bag and munched away.
Crunch…
“Ooh… this is delicious! Having neighbors who can bake is amazing!”
Happy and satisfied, Night Star quickly finished the sweets and felt rejuvenated.
Though it wasn’t filling, it was satisfying.
Quickly, she returned to her usual state and planned more fun times ahead.
But as soon as she laid down, she thought of something else.
“Should I head over to the theater?”
Just wasting time at home, with no gaming, she figured visiting the Rising Sun Theater would be better.
Besides, being an Audience Performer and not performing, there was no point.
Maybe the vibe would be different in different surroundings.
“Yeah, I should head to the theater later; watching the Group Leader practice might be interesting.”
She decided to stop by after dinner, lest she went hungry again.
