**Chapter 364: The Magical Power of Love Goes Round and Round**
As the last period of the morning approached, the class teacher, He Gongxing, finally made his way into the classroom holding a registration book. “Alright everyone, all of you are present, so let me announce the following task. All the boys will come with me to carry the books, and the girls will handle cleaning the classroom. We’ll officially start classes in the afternoon.”
“Ah~”
The collective sigh echoed perfectly because most of the students had been hoping to postpone lifting books and cleaning the classroom until the afternoon — a clever excuse to procrastinate and avoid the day’s hard work. Little did they know it would start so early!
How could the scheming He Gongxing not see through this? He clapped his hands for silence and continued to grin, “Okay now, boys, follow me. Girls, the class representative will organize you.”
Instantly, the boys stood up in unison and followed their teacher downstairs to haul books.
However, this put Xia Yu in a pickle, as she was unsure of where she should line up — with the girls or the boys? After her trip to Demon City, she was struggling to adjust back to her original identity.
After a moment of thought, Xia Yu faintly remembered that she hadn’t revealed her true identity here yet, so she might as well continue living as a boy. Hesitating for just a beat, she stood up and followed her deskmate, Gao Xiaotian, out of her seat.
To Gao Xiaotian, it seemed like Xia Yu was just waiting for him to make space. He didn’t think much of it: “Bro, maybe you should just cut your hair when you get the chance; otherwise, the way you look is too easy to misinterpret.”
Saying that, Gao Xiaotian reached out as if to put his arm around Xia Yu’s shoulders like old times. But Xia Yu instinctively dodged him and didn’t spare him any face: “Not cutting it.”
She wouldn’t cut her hair for anyone, not even if Dad asked! And what did it matter that it was just a classmate? Xia Yu had gotten used to her long hair and the lifestyle that came with it — she had no desire to change anything!
What if Sister Little Ning didn’t like short hair?
Gao Xiaotian: “…”
Seeing the teacher lead the group farther away, Gao Xiaotian lost interest in pondering it all: “Alright, let’s catch up, we can’t fall behind.”
“Mm.”
When Xia Yu and Gao Xiaotian left, Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling suddenly realized they forgot to tell Xia Yu not to go. Never mind whether she had the strength; she had just undergone dialysis yesterday, and there was no way she could recover in a single day.
Thinking of this, they immediately bolted to chase after her. If Xia Yu got into any trouble, it would be all kinds of bad.
Just then, class representative Huang Qiao appeared out of nowhere, blocking Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling’s path: “Jiang Hanhang, Xia Ling, I was just about to assign some tasks, where are you two going?”
“Looking for someone.”
“Who?”
“Looking for… my… sis…”
As Xia Ling was about to spill the beans, Jiang Hanhang quickly covered her mouth to stop her from continuing and helped her answer: “Xia Yu.”
Xia Yu? Huang Qiao had a vivid memory of Xia Yu, being Xia Ling’s twin and the only boy who could freely enter the girls’ restroom at school. It was because of Xia Yu that she couldn’t become friends with Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling — after all, she was the one who first reported Xia Yu, though it didn’t turn out to be effective.
“Then you girls better come back early. Since you have something to do now, you can handle taking out the trash later, right?”
“No problem.”
What was with her identity? Now she had to help take out the trash! Jiang Hanhang huffed in frustration; after all, her sister had donated so much money to the school. Once downstairs, Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling realized it was tricky again, as there were far too many boys clustered together to move the books.
Fortunately, Xia Yu was wearing a different girls’ uniform, not only a different color but with her beautiful long hair, so finding her should still be a piece of cake.
And so, Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling began to fish for Xia Yu in the sea of boys…
Meanwhile, collecting the books was a sequential affair, so He Gongxing lined the boys from his class up in two rows in an open space. Then… the girl with the different uniform and hairstyle, Xia Yu, stood out distinctly.
Xia Yu actually showed up, much to He Gongxing’s surprise. But he was aware of Xia Yu’s close relationship with Jiang Kekai and knew very well how to play his cards: “Xia Yu, step forward for a moment.”
Xia Yu: “???”
With a puzzled expression, she stepped out from the line and stood in front of He Gongxing. “I heard you injured your hand; you’re not feeling well, right?”
He Gongxing didn’t really know anything and was simply grasping for an excuse to let Xia Yu take it easy. He hoped she would catch on. “Uh? Yeah.”
Xia Yu was quite perceptive.
And it turned out to be true; her hand had gotten two injections yesterday, and Master Chen had advised her to take three days off! Of course it still hurt! Not to mention, she had lost over ten pounds of fluids yesterday; she could barely walk without help. Recovering fully in such a short time was impossible. “In that case, just take a break on the side. If anything happens while moving books, I can’t afford to take responsibility.”
“Uh? Oh~”
She could slouch now? Xia Yu felt fuzzy with happiness. She thought she’d have to tough it out once again, but her teacher was surprisingly understanding this time. Watching Xia Yu walk away, the boys didn’t envy her; instead, they mocked her for being too weak…
Although they had long suspected that Xia Yu might be a girl, there had been no proof to confirm that theory, leading some to abandon that guess altogether. This only made some of them more sour.
Before long, Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling finally spotted Xia Yu wandering about on campus.
“Look at you, here we are, slaving away while you’re just lounging around!”
Seeing Xia Yu made Jiang Hanhang’s teeth grate with anger, and she wanted to go over and give her a good pinch to vent her frustration, but with Xia Ling right there, she couldn’t even grab Xia Yu before being pulled back.
Seeing the two, Xia Yu was just as surprised: “What are you two doing here? Aren’t the teachers supposed to be cleaning the place?”
“We’re not cleaning; we’re just going to take out the trash.” Jiang Hanhang began to interrogate Xia Yu, squinting her eyes: “What’s up with you? Still acting like a boy, huh?”
Xia Ling’s voice didn’t lower at all, which made Xia Yu instinctively glance around. Luckily, there weren’t many people nearby: “Can you keep it down? My student status here is male. What’s so weird about acting like a boy?”
“Super weird.”
Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang chimed in together.
