### Chapter 9
Right?
After seeing Ye Lan’s message, the Leader almost couldn’t react.
He didn’t expect some Night Watchers who couldn’t find the Star Eclipses all night had been spotted by Ye Lan.
What kind of ridiculous thing was this?
Could this be the power of an Extraordinary Star Holder?
The Leader quickly snapped out of his self-doubt, ready to go out.
“I’m going out for a bit, I’ll be back soon. Continue searching for clues about the Star Eclipses.”
“Understood, Leader.”
The Leader went back to his office and decided to wait for Ji Yun to bring Ye Lan here instead of sneaking around to look for her. Even under such urgent circumstances, he wouldn’t lose his judgment and decision-making abilities.
If he panics at the first sign of trouble, then he is unfit to be a leader.
After sitting in his office for a while, Ji Yun sent a message:
“Leader, I’ve brought Ye Lan to the door.”
“Bring her in.”
“Yes.”
The door opened.
Ji Yun walked in with a puzzled look on her face. After bringing Ye Lan in, Ji Yun turned and left without staying to listen to their conversation.
The Leader looked warmly at Ye Lan and said softly, “Come, sit down and tell me slowly.”
“Mm…Leader, I need to go.”
“No, you can’t leave yet.”
“Huh? Is there more?”
Hearing the Leader’s words, Ye Lan cautiously asked, afraid of saying something wrong.
“You mentioned that you saw the Star Eclipses. What’s that about?”
Hearing this question, the Leader recounted what happened yesterday.
“Last night, our headquarters’ [Know Star] alarm sounded. A mysterious Star Eclipses appeared in the capital, but we made no progress all night. So I desperately need any clues about this Star Eclipses. Can you tell me?”
“Oh…So after I speak, I can leave, right?”
The Leader remained silent for a moment and didn’t make any promises easily.
“It depends on the situation.”
“Hmm…”
Ye Lan suddenly felt a foreboding. Why did she always feel like she’d be stuck working?
No way, right? It couldn’t be that bad, right?
The Leader looked so great and dignified. There’s no way he’d hire a “child laborer” for such a dangerous task.
Of course it won’t happen!
Ye Lan had to trust the Leader!
With that thought, Ye Lan began recounting everything from last night.
After a while, she wrapped it up.
“That’s it.”
The Leader was processing the information Ye Lan provided and remained silent.
“The dream world where anything can happen is only accessible when someone is asleep. Once inside, stars become powerless and turn into ordinary people. All memories of the dream disappear upon waking…”
Judging from this, the Night Watchers who entered early might have gone into the same dream. However, it was just a few of them. The alarm couldn’t wake them, and the small abnormality was hard to notice within such a short time.
Moreover, those Night Watchers would forget things they experienced in their dreams, not even knowing it was related to the Star Eclipses event.
If Ye Lan didn’t keep the memory, the headquarters wouldn’t have found this anomaly at all.
Linking these together, this Star Eclipses incident is quite bizarre indeed.
And Ye Lan saw it in a dream, meaning the [Dream Narrator] appears only in dreams.
How should the Night Watchers act now?
This was a big decision.
They didn’t understand the purpose or powers of Star Eclipses, and taking action with so many unknowns is too dangerous.
Plus, dreams aren’t in the realm of the strategies Night Watchers train for. If they can only enter the dream by sleeping, then what next?
Without their stars, how can they take on the mysterious Star Eclipses?
Thinking this, the Leader cast a thoughtful gaze at the submissive-looking Ye Lan.
Seeing this, Ye Lan’s expression froze, suddenly feeling a sense of dread.
“Um…Leader, you won’t let me get involved, right? I’m just a newbie after all. Too dangerous. You won’t drag me into this, right?”
“…The Leader stared at her sincerely.”
Ye Lan’s expression froze again.
“Right…?”
But what the Leader said next shattered Ye Lan’s hopes.
“Cough, cough, Ye Lan, for safety reasons, just stay in the capital for now. This situation is complicated, and maybe we’ll need you to gather information for us. Please help us out.”
“Wahhhhh, I knew it…”
The sparkle in Ye Lan’s eyes quickly faded away.
In the end, under the Leader’s request, Ye Lan temporarily stayed in the capital.
She never imagined that on what she thought would be a peaceful day, she’d encounter such a troublesome case.
Is this fate?
The more you don’t want something to happen, the more likely it is to happen.
Ye Lan made a resolution in her heart, deciding to never set another flag again!
She strongly suspected that the [Wish Machine] was actively thwarting her wishes.
The Wish Machine was the worst!
Ye Lan once again blamed the innocent Wish Machine.
Afterwards, the Leader instructed Ye Lan to rest.
If anything was discovered during her return to the dream state, she should inform him privately.
That way, her secrets weren’t compromised and she wasn’t observed by anyone strange.
The Leader returned to the room where all the Night Watchers gathered and relayed Ye Lan’s story along with his own analysis.
Upon hearing the story, the other Night Watchers fell into deep thought.
“So, it was actually a dream?”
One Night Watcher commented, rubbing their head in pain after hearing the battlefields were dreams.
This scenario was utterly beyond them.
It wasn’t reality; how could they strategize?
The information given by the Leader also made them feel somewhat helpless.
Entering the dream meant losing their stars, and upon waking, they’d have no memory—it seemed impossible.
No one knew what the [Dream Narrator] intended, or what danger the dreams posed to ordinary people.
The Night Watchers didn’t want to wait or gamble but had to take action.
But how exactly should they do it?
At this point, the Leader stated, “We can only sleep. Last night, some early sleeping Night Watchers entered the same eerie dream. Entering sleep might be the only way to access the dream world. Let’s give it a try.”
The other Sunlight Night Watchers nodded thoughtfully.
The Leader continued, “Once in the dream, we lose our stars. If we encounter the Star Eclipses, avoid fighting. Focus on gathering information. That gives us a better chance.”
“But after waking, we’ll lose our memories. How will we bring the collected information back to reality?”
The Leader glanced at the talking Night Watcher.
“How do you think I know these details?”
“Always dependable.”
The other Night Watchers didn’t press further, accepting that there was a way to break through.
As for what comes next, they would simply follow the Leader’s orders.
