Chapter 363

### Chapter 15 Shame

Night Star returned to the Rising Sun Theater in high spirits.

If you’re going to call for backup, then might as well go all out—this was her credo in life.

With so many big shots around her, she thought it would be a crime not to take advantage of them.

And Mo Tu was perfect for the grunt work.

After all, wasn’t his identity just too convenient?

Only a few people, like Night Star Lan, could pull off having a dual identity. Kong Yu Bai’s identity was too sensitive, so he couldn’t get involved in this incident. But Mo Tu had no such problems.

Lianhua and others were curious when they saw Night Star return.

“Performer, where did you go?”

“Oh, I went to find the announcer about some matters that needed help.”

Night Star told the truth openly, with no secrets.

Upon hearing this, Kong Yu Bai seemed to recall something.

“It must have been related to the incident in the capital, right?”

“Yep! The Leader asked me for help. I probably won’t be back to Yun Chang City until after the matter is resolved, but I can’t do it alone, so I dragged the announcer into this.”

“Do you think the announcer will help?”

“He’s super willing!”

Kong Yu Bai seemed to guess something and smiled slightly.

“Did you threaten them?”

“No way! I think they would join in no matter what, I just expedited things a bit.”

Night Star admitted that she was better at thinking things through compared to Mo Tu, even though her understanding of him was pretty good too. But she couldn’t predict his exact plans.

In any case, “I’m ready to take it easy, all I need to do is pass on information. After that, let the Night Watchers deal with those weird Star Eclipses!” she declared.

The scene shifted to the headquarters where Night Lan was having lunch with Night Feather in the cafeteria.

She intended to pack two lunches to share with Night Star, but was instead invited by Night Feather.

Night Lan didn’t refuse since it couldn’t hurt to chat while eating.

So there they were, enjoying their meal together.

Now Night Feather was discussing her experience with the Star Eclipses’ dream.

“This is truly bizarre! How can that dream erase my memories?! It’s so humiliating!”

Clearly, Night Feather felt extremely opposed to anything tampering with her memories.

It was so out of character for her that it felt demeaning.

Hence her feeling of shame.

“If I ever meet the creator of that ridiculous dream, I’ll make sure to rub their face in it! A thousand times isn’t enough! It should be ten thousand!”

She stuffed her face furiously, channeling her frustration into food.

Night Lan just wanted to snicker at her.

Feather-sama, you’re really going to ruin your cool if you keep eating so wildly.

But she kept her laughter to herself because watching Feather implode in such a funny manner was too entertaining.

As Night Lan continued smiling, Night Feather suddenly stopped, as if recalling something.

Bits of rice still stuck to her face, making her look rather cute.

“Oh yeah, I remember something the Leader mentioned in the latest intelligence report: dreams can turn any wish into reality. I wonder what kind of figure I cut in the Star Eclipses dream.”

Night Lan reflected for a moment.

A shadow of a dark, over-the-top villain emerged in her mind, vastly different from the real Night Feather.

It felt more dramatic.

But considering how the dreams affected her, it actually made sense.

Too bad she won’t remember any of it when she wakes up.

Even if she re-experiences the same dream, she’ll start afresh with no memory of the previous one.

Unless Night Lan spills the beans, of course.

Which she won’t because it involves her own secret.

Plus, it’s just so much fun seeing it all play out!

“Don’t worry, Feather-sama, you must look badass in your dreams.”

That statement was pretty accurate.

Night Feather nodded confidently.

“Yes, no matter what happens in the Star Eclipses dream, I’m still the ruler of the Dark Sky. One day, I’ll conquer it and make it mine!”

“Mmm… I doubt you’ll win…”

Night Feather gave Night Lan a slight glare.

“Even if it’s true, could you give me some credit here?”

“Ehehe… Then I definitely believe you’ll succeed!”

“That’s right! That’s the mark of a high EQ! You must be the best subordinate!”

To sum it up, indulging in her melodramatic behavior was the key.

Suddenly, a woman approached their table with a tray of food.

“Mind if I sit here?”

Hearing that familiar voice, Night Lan looked up and recognized Qi Xing.

What a coincidence.

Night Lan responded reflexively, “Sure, go ahead.”

“Thanks.”

Then Qi Xing sat next to Night Lan and started eating voraciously.

Night Feather stared silently, unrecognizing the newcomer.

“Who are you?”

“Me? I’m a Night Watcher here at the headquarters—I’m Qi Xing. We’re kind of acquaintances.”

Night Feather glanced at Night Lan, who nodded.

“That makes sense… a senior?”

Night Feather appeared to snap out of her dramatic phase.

“Speaking of which, did you also participate in the mission against the Star Eclipses?”

“Yeah, maybe we’ve met in dreams, but we’d forget once back in the real world.”

Night Feather nodded thoughtfully.

“Huh, perhaps our fates intertwine in ways unseen.”

Qi Xing finished her meal quickly, wiped her mouth, and said, “You both seem to be new trainees here, tackling such major events. It’s a tough spot, especially before you’ve fully grown into your role.”

Night Feather shook her head.

“We don’t feel forced. Even if we want to avoid it, our dreams force us in. The only way to avoid it is not sleeping—and that’s unrealistic, especially since many ordinary folks are already caught up.”

“True… But I worry about the impact it might have on those who aren’t ready for it. Ordinary folks interacting with that phenomenon can’t be good. I hope no harm comes to anyone because of it.”

Qi Xing sighed softly, genuinely concerned.

She seemed like a nice person.
