### Chapter 20: A Great Deal
Night Star finally finished her meal.
The bickering between Guqiu and Eypar was quite good for breaking one’s rice, anyway. They couldn’t really fight; they just traded insults with their limited vocabulary. It was almost like watching two clowns argue.
Having these two chaotic troublemakers in the theater added a bit of liveliness.
Normally, they wouldn’t get into arguments. But as soon as Night Star joined in, things quickly escalated into full-blown “battle” mode.
Night Star felt utterly bewildered. This was what they called vying for affection?
It was hilarious!
All this supposedly “vying for affection” was just petty bickering with no real strategy involved at all.
From Night Star’s perspective, one should try to please the person they like every moment.
Winning someone’s heart through kindness is what true affection looks like.
These two, however, didn’t have the grace or skill to do that. They were just noise makers.
Luckily, the Group Leaders didn’t mind. Otherwise, they’d have kicked these two nitwits out long ago.
“Alright, stop bickering! Eypar, if you keep this up, you’ll be out of the theater. Same goes for you, Guqiu. No more fries if you don’t stop!”
“Ji!”
“Gul! Ji!”
Under Night Star’s threat, the two finally simmered down.
Then Lianhua approached with a smile, asking, “Is the Audience Performer busy right now?”
“Mmm… Not too busy. We’ve got plenty of time before tonight.”
“I see. So, how are you doing with the strange Star Eclipses case? Do you think he might be easier to talk to if he’s like the Group Leaders?”
“Mmm… Nothing much has happened. Even though I think there’s a being making Star Eclipses, I still can’t approach him. He appears and disappears so randomly in dreams, it’s hard to meet him face-to-face. Maybe I won’t ever encounter him after all.”
“Really? Too bad I can’t enter dreams, otherwise I’d help you. But you know, as long as you’re supported by me, that’s good enough. Actually, even your presence already does wonders for my mood, which helps keep me at my best when entering dreams.”
“That’s great to hear!” Lianhua grinned satisfiedly.
Before Night Star could react, other members like Kong Yu Bai approached.
“Speaking of which, can we go into the dreams too?”
Kong Yu Bai proposed this tricky question.
Night Star was taken aback. She hadn’t thought about it before.
“Mmm… Star Eclipses probably can’t. It seems only humans can dream, so I’m not sure if Star Eclipses can either.”
Lianhua shook her head gently, “Star Eclipses don’t sleep or dream. They’re more like in a state of meditation, so they can’t enter dreams.”
“Probably that’s why other Star Eclipses cannot enter dreams.”
Book Yao murmured softly, then looked up with glimmering eyes.
“But I’m not a Star Eclipses, and I can sleep. Does that mean I can accompany the Audience Performer into the dreams?”
Kong Yu Bai suddenly remembered something, feeling excited.
“Yeah, I can switch between human identity and Star Eclipses one, maybe if I can hide my true form from the dreaming beings, I could explore in the dream world with the Audience Performer.”
Night Star’s eyes lit up.
“That might actually work!”
In a way, having fun with the Night Watchers is cool, but clearly, having better companionship is the best option.
If she can roam around in dreams with Kong Yu Bai and Book Yao, Night Lan would totally hold nothing back.
Better than going alone any day.
“We should let the Singer and the Playwright try it tonight, all sleeping together!”
Kong Yu Bai suggested with a slight smile.
“Can we really sleep together?”
Night Star immediately caught on and nodded in thought.
“Nope. Night Star has to stay here to gather information, and Night Lan has to sleep in headquarters to avoid suspicion. Looks like we can only sleep separately.”
Night Star’s plans were rather thorough.
Kong Yu Bai sighed lightly, trying to joke, “Ah well, it’s a shame. We haven’t shared the bed with the Audience Performer in ages. The last time was around four years ago, wasn’t it?”
“Ah…”
Night Star remembered as well.
But at that time, Night Lan lay beside Kong Yu Bai, vanishing halfway through the night as a Star Eclipses.
“For sure next time!”
Anyway, Night Star was starting to look forward to tonight.
If Book Yao and Kong Yu Bai could join her in the dreams, that would be splendid.
As these thoughts ran through Night Star’s mind, she felt her skirt being tugged slightly.
Lianhua stood beside her, full of longing.
“I want to explore the dreams with the Audience Performer too.”
“Oh, but Lianhua, you’re a half-Star Eclipses… You can’t go in.”
“Mmm…”
Lianhua’s expression visibly dropped.
Seeing the little loli’s sad face made Night Star feel bad, so she comforted her quickly.
“Cough, cough. Think of it this way, the Singer and Playwright will keep Night Lan company in the dream, but you can stay with me, right? That means we get some alone time!”
Also worth mentioning, the Makeup Artist can’t appear 24/7. She needs to rest inside a portrait for a third of the day, usually during nighttime, which aligns with regular sleeping hours of humans.
“That makes sense…” Lianhua thought a moment and quickly cheered up.
So it seems she’s getting a good deal after all.
“Hehe~”
Lianhua flashed a happy smile.
Night Star exhaled a sigh of relief.
She had quite the knack for cheering the little lolis up.
Who makes her such a pro at this? Clearly, all for the hugs!

With the passing of time…
Twilight approached.
Night Lan and Yu Xin returned from the entertainment area back to the Night Watcher Headquarters to prepare for tonight’s dreams.
Night Lan brought dinner back to their room, inviting Night Star to eat together.
“Mmm… Looks like we will start dealing with the issues again. I wonder if Kong Yu Bai and Book Yao can get into the dreams.”
“They should be able to… although once they’re inside, their abilities might disappear.”
“I don’t care if they disappear, as long as they’re with me…”
The two little lolis soon filled their stomachs.
Night Star arranged the dishes while Night Lan examined the strategy guide provided by the Leader, planning to dive into it thoroughly.
Fortunately, memory isn’t lost upon entering the dream world, otherwise, all those strategies would be useless.
Night Watchers can gather and analyze data as it comes into reality, increasing their understanding, and solving these incidents eventually.
As long as the Star Eclipse isn’t too bizarre, they should be able to handle it.
It all depends on the strength of the Leadership.
“Mmmm… Mo Tu promised to join tonight’s operation, but will he show up? If he doesn’t appear in the dream tonight, I’m going to curse him like never before!”
