### Chapter 23: Rambling on About the Wish Princess
Now, Night Lan could finally conclude her findings.
That was to say, the Wish Princess was almost identical to Night Star and Night Lan, just with different hair and eye colors.
Moreover, during all those times that Night Lan had touched and poked her, the Wish Princess hadn’t resisted at all, not even twitching. She looked exactly like a realistic doll.
Could it be that the Wish Princess didn’t have a consciousness?
After all, current studies demonstrated that high-level stars had their own consciousnesses.
Thinking over and over, Night Lan could only guess that the Star Eclipses dream state couldn’t interfere with EXTRAORDINARY STARS. Random thoughts turning a wish machine into a loli would be too powerful, to say the least.
Even the ability known as Existence Interference, an EXTRAORDINARY STAR, couldn’t affect Wish Machine. This Star Eclipses thing couldn’t do much either.
“d*mn, so she’s just an act?”
Night Lan sighed, poking the Wish Princess’ cheek in frustration.
So, it seemed the star eclipse dream was nothing more than creating a doll resembling her loli-self out of thin air.
She thought the Wish Machine star truly became a loli.
The commotion earlier genuinely scared her.
If the Wish Machine really transformed into a loli, she worried the girl might reject the host.
Being rejected stings!
Especially by a loli who looked nearly identical to oneself.
And yet, the Wish Machine had been by her side, helping a lot.
Although Night Lan often grumbled about “misdeeds” by the Wish Machine, she never actually shunned it. Only someone delusional would think a BREAKTHROUGH STAR was worthless.
“So, what now?”
After realizing the sudden appearance of a loli wasn’t from transformation, Night Lan relaxed.
It seemed the Wish Princess was now just a lifelike doll, perhaps still moveable but without any consciousness.
That must be the case.
“In that case, just stay by my side for now.”
As soon as the words left her lips, the Wish Princess nodded, looking very much like a robot receiving a command.
Night Lan smiled slightly and continued walking.
The Wish Princess followed closely behind, silent as ever.
Walking ahead, Night Lan didn’t notice the flickering wisdom in the Wish Princess’ eyes, which were fixed on her back as if deep in thought once Night Lan turned around.
Night Lan, however, didn’t pick up on this anomaly and kept talking to herself.
“Agh… If even a Breakthrough Star can become a loli, could other ideas be possible too?”
Strange notions began swirling in Night Lan’s brain.
Thinking this, she plunged back into her dream state.
For example, everyone seen should turn into cute lolis!
Another blink and open of her eyes, Night Lan gazed at the crowd.
She noted that the previously towering figures had shrunk significantly and indeed turned into tiny lolis!
“Dang…”
Night Lan blinked in shock.
Could anyone’s random thought alter everything in the dream?
No, that was unlikely.
If anyone could severely mess with the dream’s fabric, total chaos would ensue.
Night Lan mulled over this, concluding it must be an illusion.
Sure, everyone looked like loli in her vision, but others likely saw them normally.
Seeing lolis everywhere was just subjective to the dreamer.
This was easy enough to understand.
Because if everybody became loli, there’d be some noticeable change from them.
Instead, the atmosphere was quite normal, clearly showing no one was truly a loli.
“But hey, looks pretty cool, seeing a bunch of lolis doesn’t scare me,” Night Lan exhaled, feeling content.
Everyone being loli meant little to stress over.
Of course, while seeing lolis everywhere, Night Lan wouldn’t go wild. No need to get overly friendly with strangers or virtual lolis.
Night Lan preferred hugging her friends; strangers needed more persuasion anyway.
Besides, both Night Lan and Night Star had found themselves someone to hug.
Night Star had Lotus, and for Night Lan, hugging Wish Princess wasn’t bad either. They felt almost the same, just lacked the warmth of skin-to-skin contact.
Thinking this, Night Lan suddenly felt intrigued.
Although identical, something felt off—like a mix of Night Star and Night Lan, with black and white mixed hair and red-blue transitioning eyes.
If one had to name her, it’d be Night Star Lan, but that sounded weird.
Night Lan pondered for a moment and decided to stick with the original.
“Then, let’s stick with Wish Princess.”
She was done brainstorming names.
Night Lan placed her hand on the Wish Princess’ shoulder, continuing to talk absently.
“Dear Wish Princess, when will you upgrade your features? Wishes, for instance. Simple ones aren’t bad, but complex ones are a hassle since they need to be roundabout. I’m okay working for friends, except sometimes it’s not always about that…”
The Wish Princess remained silent, her expression unchanging like an emotionless doll.
Night Lan kept rambling.
“If only wishes came true instantly, I’d have wished away this star eclipse by now. But alas, dealing with a strange star eclipse feels super scary. Who would dare get near?”
“And uh… Whatever happened to that massive psychic power you got from Book Yao? Sharing a bit shouldn’t hurt, right? I’ve still got C-rank psychic levels, and speeding up to B isn’t much help at all.”
Complaining under her breath, Night Lan continued, unsure if the real Wish Machine could even hear her, but a fake Wish Princess sparked her ranting.
“Ugh, and also, could you stop going berserk? From reading the files, the higher the grade, the scarier it gets. I fear those phenomena, especially if emotions go haywire. Just pretend to d*e if I ever act odd. No need to share sorrow or anger.”
Thus, Night Lan rambled incessantly in her ear, seemingly adorable.
But, there was someone listening whose patience was already wearing thin.
