Chapter 26 Slightly Familiar
Night Star returned to the lounge from the theater and began washing up with Ye Lan’s toiletries.
Let’s put off those other worries for now; for now, filling their bellies is more important.
A moment later, Ye Lan came back holding two breakfast sets, and they shared breakfast together.
This is the third day already.
It’s been three days since the star eclipse phenomenon began.

Ji Yun’s figure appeared in the lounge, standing not far from Ye Lan.
“Lan Ye, the leader wants to see you.”
“OK! I’m ready!”
“You look pretty tense. Need some time to calm down?”
Ji Yun observed her pretty well, naturally noticing the state of her mood.
Ye Lan shook her head.
“No, I am very calm!”
Quickly, Ye Lan’s heartbeat settled.
As long as she doesn’t reveal Night Star’s presence, everything is fine.
“So… Why does the leader want to see me?” asked Ye Lan.
Ji Yun shook her head.
“I don’t know. You’ll find out when you get there.”
“Okay.”
Thinking, Ye Lan stood up.
Ji Yun came beside her, placing her hand on her shoulder.
With a ripple of space, both vanished.
At that moment.
Inside the theater.
The makeup artist had long come out of the portrait.
Now she lived like an animated paper doll.
Night Star looked around casually.
Kong Yu Bai, Book Yao, and Lianhua were all present, but no clue where Mo Rabbit had gone.
That loli popped in and out so mysteriously, perhaps lurking in some corner observing them or not at all.
Who knows where she’s hiding.
Night Star shook her head, deciding to forget about that loli for good.
Anyway, she’d eventually turn into a girl-dog.
Just as Night Star prepared to walk over and chat with Lianhua and others, a silhouette emerged from the nearby shadow.
Night Star directed her gaze, halting her steps.
“Group Leader?”
Night Star tilted her head, seeming confused by the group leader’s appearance.
At that point, the group leader calmly stated, “A few more days until performance time. We should start practicing.”
“Hmm, seems so.”
Prompted by the group leader, Night Star realized the weekend was nearly here.
Typically during this period, all theater members would need to prepare for outdoor performances, especially for the new drama.
Playwright Book Yao had already prepared many scripts, merely picking one.
Performers needed only to familiarize themselves with the story of the one chosen script within a day, enact it perfectly, and bring it to life.

With this assurance, there was no need to worry about the urgency of time.
Night Star scratched her head, looking slightly embarrassed.
“Hmm… As an audience performer for the troupe, I almost forgot about the performance time. Sorry, Group Leader.”
“It’s fine. It’s no big deal, and you, as the audience performer, don’t need to do much. Just come and watch our performances on time,” said the group leader in a gentle tone.
Night Star shook her head.
“Although you are kind to me, as a member of this troupe, I should remember the events. Forgetting the practice time is my fault. No excuses allowed.”
“Ah, having your heart in the right spot makes me happy. As expected of a performer.”
“Hmm hmm.”
Night Star nodded and murmured to herself,
“All thanks to this nonsensical star eclipse incident. It just pulled me in randomly, distracting me from the troupe activities.”
The group leader narrowed her eyes slightly.
“Audience performer, what are you talking about? Is there something I can help with?”
“Ah… The leader might not be able to help with this. This event is just too intricate, needing human intervention. That guy might only appear in dreams, completely headache-inducing.”
Night Star held her head, already feeling brain-strained for the night watchmen.
Then she thought of something and asked the group leader, “Say, Group Leader, do you know anyone by the name of ‘Dream Narrator’?”
“Dream Narrator? I recognize the term.”
“Oh, really don’t know. Well within reason… Wait, you know!?”
Finally, Night Star got it, her eyes widening, filled with shock.
The group leader nodded calmly.
“I embarked on a solo performance journey once. A dream narrator approached me, saying he wanted to observe my genuine self. He watched my shows for a while before leaving. We talked very little, but I knew he was special.”
Night Star covered her mouth with both hands, still stunned.
“Whoa… The group leader met a dream narrator?”
Gradually recovering, Night Star questioned the group leader more aggressively.
“Um… Did the dream narrator meet you in real life?”
“Yes.”
The group leader nodded firmly.
Only then did Ye Lan realize the dream narrator isn’t confined solely to imaginary dreams.
Perhaps he’s hiding somewhere.
The night watchman needs not enter anyone’s sanctuary.
All they need is to find the dream narrator hiding in plain sight in reality!
