Chapter 386: Girlfriend?
Jiang Hanhang had such a huge heart, doing things with incredible speed. By the time Xia Yu and Xia Ling came to their senses, the girl had already pulled them out of the campsite.
“Enough, enough, did you eat too much?”
Pulling her arm back from Jiang Hanhang, Xia Ling hit Jiang Hanhang’s little noggin without mercy. Seriously, how could this dopy loli be so obsessed with food? She wasn’t like this before.
Little did Jiang Hanhang know, she was doing this on purpose. She wanted Xia Yu to get busier so she could relish bullying her intentionally or unintentionally. Her joy was immense.
It was only after Xia Ling gave her a whack that Jiang Hanhang stopped in her tracks and pouted, clutching her head, looking pitifully at Xia Ling. “I’m thinking about Xiao Yu, okay? She wants a pot, so I got it for her. Otherwise, Sister might scold me.”
As if it were true. Xia Ling almost fell for it, if not for guessing Jiang Hanhang’s little schemes. “It’s fine, we just need to walk over there, no need to run.”
“Yes.”
No one knew how Xia Ling had tamed Jiang Hanhang so well. Now, Jiang Hanhang followed her around like a faithful dog. The two clumsy lolis started bickering, leaving Xia Yu with no choice but to take a backseat and watch.
Seeing Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang were free, Xia Yu decided to seek advice. “Sis, seeing how scared of you Hanhang is, do you have any tricks to deal with her? Or any dirt or something…”
Desperately, Xia Yu wanted to get rid of Jiang Hanhang since Sister Little Ning was busy, and she didn’t want to bother her. So, Xia Ling became her only hope.
Before Xia Yu could finish, Jiang Hanhang popped up from behind, jumping onto Xia Yu, hugging her neck and hanging onto her, tormenting her. “You also want to get rid of me? Fat chance.”
Xia Yu: “…What are you so smug for? When we get home, Sister Little Ning will help me deal with you.”
“Oh, filing complaints, eh? Well, I won’t hold back then.”
Jiang Hanhang smirked and pinched Xia Yu’s cheeks. Xia Yu was too easy to handle—she never resisted! This girl was having such a good time.
Seeing Jiang Hanhang’s arrogance, Xia Ling couldn’t stand it anymore. She grabbed Jiang Hanhang, pulling her off Xia Yu, and hugged her neck tightly. “Are you two playing too much?”
“Xiao Ling, you heard Xiao Yu threaten me. If I don’t play along, she might tell my sister when we get back. You gotta protect me, right?”
Jiang Hanhang never lost her composure, even when caught by Xia Ling, because she believed Xia Ling would back her up. But Xia Ling didn’t give in, and gave her an eye roll instead. “Why are you telling me? You should talk to Xiao Yu, your sister. And you have a boyfriend already. Ask him to protect you, why don’t you?”
Jiang Hanhang: “…”
Jiang Hanhang felt pretty confident until Xia Ling said that. She was usually smart, right? Why couldn’t she figure it out despite all the hints?
Grinding her teeth, Jiang Hanhang tried another hint. “Boyfriend? Can’t a girl have a girlfriend like my sister?”
“Girlfriend?”
Xia Ling and Xia Yu exchanged astonished glances. Jiang Jia must’ve been having a tough time with Little Ning, and now this comes along. Tsk tsk…
Unlike Xia Yu’s calm, Xia Ling was a bit excited but managed to tamp it down. “A girlfriend? Where is she now? Can you stop talking in riddles?”
“I won’t tell.”
Puffing out her cheeks, Jiang Hanhang hinted as much as she could. Xia Ling still couldn’t guess; she was out of luck here.
Desperation met reality, Xia Ling failed to guess, and instead, roughly held Jiang Hanhang, trying to force the answer out of her. “Confession leads to leniency, resistance leads to strictness. Speak or no speak?”
Summer’s tiny hand had already touched Jiang Hanhang’s soft cheeks, hinting at something. Jiang Hanhang still had some grit left: “Not saying, not saying, and I’ll d*e before I do.”
Xia Yu: “…”
Xia Ling: “…”
They arrived at the guesthouse. Continued antics might cause trouble in such places. Reluctantly, Xia Ling let go of Jiang Hanhang. “Lucky you, I’ll deal with you later tonight in the dorms.”
“Tch, we’ll see who deals with whom tonight.”
“You…”
Xia Yu sighed, Xia Ling was speechless.
Bullying Xia Yu seemed to inflate people easily, like Jiang Hanhang. She thought she had it all figured out again.
These two clumsy lolis acted so upright most of the time, yet they turned chaotic once they started squabbling. Xia Yu was exhausted. She thought she could sneak a lazy moment.
Now, she had to take charge alone.
The two silly girls just kept bickering, so Xia Yu ended up asking the chef directly when they reached the kitchen. “Hello, I’d like to talk to you about something.”
Chef himself cooked today and wasn’t too upset to be interrupted by such a cute girl. He found it somewhat amusing in the midst of the boring noise.
“What’s up?”
The chef continued his cooking while casually listening to Xia Yu.
“Well… umm… I was wondering if I could borrow a pot and a spoon? I want to cook outside, and I promise to return it when the event ends.”
Her social skills weren’t as sharp as her cooking aspirations. Xia Yu tried to stay calm but still stumbled in her words. “Can you cook?”
The chef looked incredulous. At her age, he guessed she’d probably only know a dish like scrambled eggs and tomatoes. But diving into something complex would waste ingredients, which he took seriously.
“Why are you so keen to cook something? What would you like to prepare? How about showing a dish now?” asked the chef.
“Anything?”
“Mm-hmm, we have plenty of ingredients here. Show me a difficult dish. If it satisfies me, I’ll lend you the pot and even give you some pork bones to make soup.”
