### Chapter 47: Killing Monsters and Leveling Up
#### Performing in the Gaming Entertainment Zone?
Night Star’s expression froze for a moment as if she found the idea viable.
After all, there was quite a bit of foot traffic in the gaming entertainment zone.
But the question was—could those gamers really be interested in watching a performance?
They probably wouldn’t.
Most people here were specifically there to play games.
If anything unrelated to gaming appeared on stage, they likely wouldn’t care enough to stick around.
Even if Kung Yu Bai’s opening song could attract a crowd initially, maybe nobody would stay for the later performances.
So some tactics had to be devised.
“Maybe we should do some promotion!”
“Promotion?”
“Yes, exactly! We just need to get famous here. Once we’re famous, people will come to watch us. And here, you become famous by becoming an advanced gamer. Hey everyone, let’s start playing games!”
The other troupe members didn’t object to Night Star’s suggestion—they seemed willing enough.
Though that meant dealing with a bunch of folks who seemed totally out of touch with the times.
The group leader and others might not even know much about things besides gaming. And most of them were disinterested in gaming, so basically, Night Star would have to teach them how to play.
“Anyway, come with me—I’ll teach you how to game!”
Night Star volunteered eagerly, like an experienced veteran leading newbies through their first experience.
Which was sort of true since her level was still a newbie.
Mokutu looked amused, a soft chuckle escaping her lips.
“Tsk tsk.”
Star Eclipses actually wanted to play human games? That was funny.
At least today wouldn’t be boring.
Night Star led the troupe members to a gaming arcade.
“First, we gotta level up! Without leveling up, we can’t move past that ‘noob’ phase!”
Night Star held the guidebook from her last trip to the zone, given to her by Mo Qianmeng.
Following this guide religiously, they’d eventually rise to become big shots!
Night Star brought the troupe into the arcade and started guiding the group leader and the rest through various games.
As she helped these folks who were out of the loop with modern entertainment, they moved swiftly, understanding far better than expected.
Despite looking like dinosaurs, their learning capacities rivaled and often surpassed humans.
One briefing got them fully onboard.
Soon, following Night Star’s guidance, they dove into countless games.
While visibly indifferent at first, under the pressure of the audience performers’ faces, they gave it a try.
No point in bumming out the performers, right?
—
Meantime,
A few guys in the arcade were watching the scene.
They were vigilantes ordered to patrol by base command.
Their duty here included surveilling the gaming entertainment zone, although being a ‘premium gamer’ was just a cover.
Facing the nearby Rising Sun Troupe, the vigilantes felt jittery.
They knew any one of them could be annihilated instantly—quite scary indeed.
“Who’d have thought Star Eclipses, devoted only to performances, also played games—utter nonsense.”
The official vigilante website buzzed with information about the Rising Sun Troupe.
The vigilantes, familiar with their history, were aware of many details.
Their objectives weren’t hard to spot either—like that odd human member.
She was apparently a major pillar of the troupe.
Bringing so many risky characters out to play games—it was likely her idea.
Though it scared them momentarily, more cautious observation was needed.
As long as they didn’t go wild, everything was cool.
Even if they spent all day gaming, no one would interfere.
Time passed as each troupe member progressed in various genres.
Kong Yu Bai seemed to prefer music-driven games like dance machines and rhythm games.
Shu Yao liked strategy and puzzle games.
Lianhua relished the claw machine game.
With even more outdated skills, the makeup artist observed, joining in only when invited.
The other three played everything from board games to fighting games.
The group leader tried every game to study game-culture integration. Possibly useful for performances.
The fraudster sought inspiration for new scams, understanding gamer preferences.
Gentleman fancied battle games.
That’s how it went.
Seeing Mokutu standing still, Night Star asked:
“Mokutu, why don’t you play?”
“I’m not a fan. Watching you is fine.”
“But this way, you don’t feel part of it.”
“Have I not cooperated enough already? Shouldn’t that be enough for you?”
Adjusting her dress and glancing at Night Star, Mokutu replied curtly.
Then, Lianhua approached with a wooden puppet holding plushies from the claw machine, handing them to the troupe members.
“Got a lot of plushies. Take some.”
Nobody rejected.
Notably, Mokutu received a rabbit plushie.
Night Star smiled.
“Ooh, Announcer! This bunny suits you well; so cute!”
Checking the plushie, Mokutu admitted:
“Not bad.”
“Hehe, the Announcer cradling the bunny is more adorable.”
“Giggle, thanks.”
Night Star’s sycophantic flattery amused but annoyed her slightly, though she was used to it.
There was no rush. Such things took time.
“The next step—let’s hunt monsters! Fight real people!”
Real combat was thrilling!
Higher XP gains and bigger rewards!
Only relentless challenges could propel them swiftly to high-level status.
And quickly building fame in the gaming zone!
Night Star believed they’d succeed.
Ordinary humans were no match for the troupe!
Next, with the group behind, Night Star set off to challenge others.
A few lounging vigilantes trailed quickly, happy to watch the spectacle.
Following the guide, Night Star arrived at the dedicated battle arena.
Many suitable opponents could be found here compared to random street brawls.
“Cheer, Group Leader! Quickly grind to power up and spread the Rising Sun Troupe’s name across the zone!”
Cheering after enrolling the group leader, Night Star focused on supporting them.
She herself lacked fighting skill, preferring to spectate safely.
But she trusted the troupe would return with honors!
