Chapter 5: The Answer is Always No
On the Stage.
Lianhua presented the stories of Bai Yu and the various theater group members through puppetry, which allowed both sides to understand each other better.
Shu Yao and the others naturally welcomed the little loli, who had a similar experience of being saved as them, rather than rejecting her, which made things quite warm-hearted.
And Bai Yu also won everyone’s affection with her gentle and courteous demeanor.
Right away, the Group Leader, Gentleman, and Fraudster walked out from the shadows with no small amount of curiosity about the little audience member brought in by the Audience Performer.
It was also the first time for Bai Yu to see these three ultra star eclipses that were feared among the Night Watchers closely. She couldn’t help feeling a bit nervous.
However, trusting Night Star completely, despite their intimidating reputation, Bai Yu politely greeted them. To her, Night Star’s friends were also her friends, and it was unthinkable for her to dislike them, even if they were star eclipses.
The Group Leader trio seemed quite pleased with Bai Yu.
The Group Leader never rejected any audience who enjoyed watching performances. Upon learning that this new viewer had been brought in by the Audience Performer, they were even less likely to reject her.
Gentleman was simply glad at Bai Yu’s manners; he wouldn’t object to polite kids.
Fraudster just went along with it, figuring if the Group Leader and Gentleman didn’t mind, he sure didn’t.
“How about we do a welcome performance for Ms. Bai Yu to make her feel at home?”
The Group Leader proposed this suggestion, which quickly garnered unanimous approval.
Thus began the operations of the Rising Sun Theater Group.
Bai Yu sat between Ye Lan and Night Star, puzzled by the extremely friendly nature of the theater group members.
“Even though they’re star eclipses, Night Star’s friends are surprisingly warm, even though most night watchers consider them dangerous. But after meeting Night Star’s friends, I have changed my perspective.”
Bai Yu smiled, reflecting on the members operating the theater with a sudden surge of emotions.
Back in the day, Night Star only had one friend—herself.
And she had only Night Star as a friend.
At that time, they often played online games together, chatting happily and sharing their daily struggles. Perhaps sharing no other friends was what initially brought them together.
She felt a wave of nostalgia seeing Night Star with many new friends now.
It seemed her first friend had undergone a significant change, making her marvel at it.
Though Bai Yu herself had also made several friends.
Yet all the changes were brought about directly by Night Star.
Night Star took pride in Bai Yu’s recognition of the troupe.
“Of course, everyone in the troupe is well-behaved, even if they’re mostly star eclipses. However, caution is necessary as some can be truly terrible.”
Then Night Star began to share examples of a few wicked star eclipses, such as the assassin star eclipse involved in the Songstress incident, the airborne star eclipse during their recent capital trip, and the vile data person in Qi Yuan City. They were all rude sorts.
All those star eclipses needed to be eradicated!
Only someone like everyone in the troupe could represent the epitome of star eclipses in the industry!
“Well, I’ll take your word for it. Even so, you wouldn’t hurt me anyway, right?”
“Of course not~”
Night Star and Night Lan both patted their flat chests with assurance.
Over on the side,
The Makeup Artist had finished applying makeup to the troupe members preparing to perform on stage.
Bright lights illuminated the stage quickly, marking the start of the Rising Sun Theater’s performance format.
Bai Yu and Night Lan watched as the troupe members put on an impressive show from the ground.
…
As time passed,
The Rising Sun Theater Group’s “welcome ceremony” for the new audience ended perfectly.
It was very late.
Since Bai Yu wasn’t a star eclipse, she naturally needed rest.
Although there were extra rooms in the theater, overall, the space didn’t seem very suitable for regular humans due to its eerie atmosphere.
This was a peculiar product of the announcer becoming a star eclipse.
Seemingly unavoidable.
Moreover, perhaps the altered aura of the Group Leader and others made the place feel a bit off kilter.
An ordinary human staying too long would definitely feel intense discomfort, possibly leading to mental abnormalities.
Only the unique Ye Lan could comfortably sleep in such a setting.
Bai Yu was a different story.
If she were alone, Night Lan would never let Bai Yu stay at the Rising Sun Theater for too long.
“Bai Yu, are you tired?”
“Yeah, a little.”
“Then let’s go back to my room and sleep.”
Ye Lan wanted to take Bai Yu back to the Fish Playing House.
Though the bed in the Fish Playing House wasn’t big, it was easy enough to fit two little lolis.
Ye Lan intended for Bai Yu to sleep over with her that night, believing she wouldn’t mind.
At this moment, Ye Lan noticed Apar floating around.
“You idiot ghost, do you want to come with us or stay here with Guqiu in the theater?”
“Apar is going back with Ye Lan~”
Ghost Girl Apar didn’t hesitate and followed after Ye Lan and Bai Yu without a second thought. She certainly didn’t want to stay with that pigeon whose brain was only filled with fries.
Afterward, Ye Lan led Bai Yu and Apar out through the door of the Theater.
The atmosphere inside the theater quickly became quiet.
But Night Star didn’t follow them out.
Though she planned to return to the Fish Playing House later to cozy up with Bai Yu and Ye Lan, she decided to stay in the theater for a while longer.
A tiny black-haired loli suddenly appeared in the theater.
Night Star quickly spotted the elusive Mo Rabbit.
“Mo Rabbit? Why did you come now? It was such a pity you weren’t around for Bai Yu’s welcome performance.”
Night Star pouted cutely, walking to Mo Rabbit and gently kicking her with her white silk lotus foot.
Mo Rabbit brushed off this playful act. After all, she was more mature than Night Star.
“And you let that girl in here?”
“Is that a problem?”
“No, as long as you’re happy.”
Mo Rabbit didn’t mind Night Star bringing friends over to the Rising Sun Theater, as she was just an observer anyway.
Suddenly, Night Star remembered something.
“Oh yeah, I haven’t introduced you to Bai Yu yet, even though you’re the troupe’s announcer but also a sunlight night watcher from Yun Chang City?”
“If you wish to keep me looking good, I’d be immensely grateful.”
Seeing Mo Rabbit’s disgruntled expression, Night Star couldn’t help smirking.
Even the shrewd Mo Rabbit was no match for her Night Star!
Before Night Star could continue, Mo Rabbit decided to change the topic.
“Now that you mention it… isn’t the performance journey in Qi Yuan City coming to an end?”
“Huh? That’s right.”
“The grand performance there is scheduled for the week after next. Do you have any ideas?”
Hearing Mo Rabbit’s question, Night Star fell into deep thought.
When asked what she thought, she replied with a definitive,
“Ask me anything, the answer is always no.”
