Chapter 419

Chapter 431: Dizzy

No more work to do, Xia Yu felt an immense relief and relaxed as soon as he stepped back into the villa. He took a shower, sprawled out on the sofa, and just rested — as if the whole kidnapping incident never happened.

Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang were the same; they snuggled up on another sofa and did their own thing. After all, dwelling on what’s done won’t change anything. The time flew by quickly, and before they knew it, it was dinner time.

If there hadn’t been this kidnapping fiasco, Xia Yu would have undoubtedly eaten; who could resist food? Also, some things are beyond control.

But today’s kidnapping changed everything. The adults thought Xia Yu hadn’t quite recovered yet from the incident, so they didn’t ask him to call. Instead, they called Xia Yu, Xia Ling, and Jiang Hanhang themselves.

“You three kids can cook your own meal tonight at the villa. We’ll give you a heads-up when the heat dies down.”

Indeed, now Xia Yu is the village’s hot topic. Stepping outside right now would be asking for trouble. He’d be stopped and questioned. The adults had more than enough on their minds. So, the girls—Xia Yu, Xia Ling, and Jiang Hanhang—didn’t have to attend the dinner at the court. They could stay in the villa, enjoy the holiday, and maybe even avoid boredom.

The girls were completely satisfied with this decision; it gave them a real taste of freedom. After all, that’s what holidays are for: fun!

However, holidays pass quickly. Unbeknownst to them, three days had already gone by while Xia Yu had been hiding. But now, no more hiding. Yes, due to a funeral, Xia Yu and Xia Ling had to be called to say their final goodbyes.

Jiang Hanhang, being an outsider, wouldn’t be judged for not going. She chose not to go since she didn’t know these people, and the idea of attending to stay near Xia Ling seemed odd to her.

Jiang Hanhang skipped out, but Xia Yu and Xia Ling had to go. Thus, Xia Ling was feeling a bit bored.

Without Jiang Hanhang joining them, Xia Ling decided to hold Xia Yu’s hand instead. Two adorable little cuties holding hands — no awkwardness!

Upon arriving at the court, Xia Yu and Xia Ling spotted several familiar elementary school classmates — both boys and girls.

Memories of their unpleasant interactions still lingered, and they cast Xia Yu and Xia Ling cold glances, showing no interest in talking to them. It seemed like they had made a pact to isolate Xia Yu and Xia Ling.

But at that age, Xiao Yu and Xia Ling were not bothered by it. They were about to enter junior high, time to leave juvenile grudges aside.

They could talk when they wanted, play on their phones otherwise, and frankly, they didn’t care what others thought.

Not long after, the sound of firecrackers started the procession.

Participating in a funeral isn’t too complicated, especially for kids like Xia Yu and Xia Ling — follow the adults into the forest and back, no fuss.

Nevertheless, it’s a serious matter. No laughing allowed. Consequently, during their approach, only a few adults interrupted them, probing for details about the kidnapping incident.

Xia Yu didn’t want to delve into these memories.

Hence, her response remained vague, and together with Xia Ling, they continued on.

In those days, they tried to evade confrontations with past elementary school buddies, but communication was silent, and the other side showed disdain. However, that wasn’t a problem. Xia Yu and Xia Ling weren’t bothered; they’d get back home to Jiang Hanhang once done.

For some reason, Xia Ling feels their lives have sped up. At their young age, they already had girlfriends. Early romance!

On one side, Jiang Hanhang was living it up, while the other side, Jiang Kekai was dealing with numerous assassination attempts. Yet, each time they detected the threat just in time, averting danger through sheer luck.

By the fourth day, the holiday was nearing its end. Each party finished their tasks and returned to Peng City to regroup.

Xia Yu’s four-day break felt surreal. A lot happened that felt minimal. Missing Xiaoning was hard, especially sleeping alone without her.

As for Jiang Hanhang, previously she always ran to Xia Yu’s room. These days, however, she didn’t show up, making Xia Yu wonder if she changed her mind.

Of course, that couldn’t be true. Upon Jiang Kekeia’s return, Jiang Hanhang rushed with a pillow, “Hehe, I’m sleeping with you two!”

Xia Yu: “…”

Jiang Kekain: “…”

Long time apart, they wanted alone time. Jiang Hanhang was acting childishly.

Jiang Kekai ignored her sister Xia Ling playing on the phone. She flipped Jiang Hanhang over and kicked her away.

Somewhat rough, yet Xia Yu liked it.

Just days felt like months for Xia Yu and Jiang Kekai, thus they yearned for intimacy. Lights off, in bed they went.

Outside, Jiang Hanhang pouted, hugging a pillow next to Xia Ling, “Little Ling, I’m bored, my sisters aren’t paying attention to me.”

Xia Ling hugged Jiang Hanhang, “Wanna go back to our room and play?”

Play! Jiang Hanhang blushed instantly.

Their bond grew fast enough they dared challenge Xia Yu and Jiang Kekai for who’d marry first. Fortunately, Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan were busy elsewhere, missing out on the conversation. Otherwise, they’d be hard-pressed to explain.

Ignoring Jiang Hanhang, Xia Ling carried her back to the room.
