Chapter 56: The Library
Over on Night Star’s side, sleep had already claimed her, marking the start of Night Lan’s day. But unlike the chaotic life over there, Night Lan’s days were pretty uneventful.
Without the ability to open the Theater Door, Night Lan couldn’t just drop by and play in Qi Yuan City as she pleased. Although she could take a car, it was still quite a hassle.
In the end, Night Lan spent her day mostly with White Fish and her gaggle of little lolis. What else could she do? The recent days in Yun Chang City had been uneventfully tranquil. Even Star Eclipses hadn’t made an appearance.
Mo Tu wasn’t in Yun Chang City either, so she couldn’t find any amusement in him.
Day after day, they all just passed by.
Meanwhile, Night Star lived in the chaotic city of the Free Country, where every day brought new terrorist attacks. Walking down the street meant potentially hearing explosions at any moment.
On top of that, there were clearings with Qing Liao Songstress’ concert, criminal organizations targeting her, the mysterious Order of Sequence, unpredictable Supernova Star Eclipses, and plenty more excitement.
Now that Night Lan and Night Star are worlds apart, living completely opposite lives, the gap between them feels immense.
For a split second, Night Lan almost thought she was two entirely different people and was left speechless.
“Ah, can’t think too much now.”
She hurriedly pushed these thoughts aside and started her usual routine.
Waking up, washing up, farewelling Eypar, heading to the Night Watcher Base, spending time with friends like White Fish—that’s how Night Lan’s days ended.
As night descended, Night Lan went to sleep as usual.

Night Star woke up in the theater in the Free Country, seamlessly transitioning into Night Lan’s daily routine.
From now on, it’s another exciting chapter in her life.
Right after getting out of bed, Night Star contacted Qing Liao Lan to see if it was the right time to go over.
“I’m sorry, today I’m with the Order of Sequence team exploring the venue. We won’t be staying at the hotel. How about later tonight?”
That was Qing Liao Lan’s reply. Her concert was just a few days away, and she had to understand the stage better to ensure she delivers a great performance.
Night Star briefly agreed and said “OK,” scheduling their meeting for that evening.
So now, it looks like she’d have to wander aimlessly around.

Night Star sat in the theater’s audience seating, contemplating what to do today.
Waltonka, while part of the Free Country, had its own unique charm, making it worth exploring, but Night Star wasn’t sure where to go.
Waltonka being such a huge city, without a clear goal, one might as well be a fly buzzing aimlessly, struggling to decide.
At this moment, Book Yao sat next to her, bringing her back to reality.
“Huh? Is the playwright familiar with the culture here?”
Book Yao nodded slightly.
“Mm-hm, I’ve read many books on this country’s culture. A quick recall and reorganization will yield results. Scripts can be written anytime.”
“How amazing!”
Night Star sincerely admired her.
Book Yao patted her head and quietly looked behind the scenes.
“But the Puppet Master must still dive into creating new puppet show scripts and hasn’t emerged from the sea of learning.”
“That’s harsh…”
Night Star wanted to hang out with Lianhua outside, but she appeared to be busy.
Since so, she’ll just have to take Little Lian along.
Making Little Lian a figurine was not bad; no weight and high security! Great stuff!
“Why don’t you come along and play with me today, playwright?”

Facing Night Star’s invitation, Book Yao naturally didn’t decline.
Of the myriad things to do, accompanying Night Star was her top priority.
And so, the plan was set.
Initially, Night Star wanted to invite Kong Yu Bai along on a three-way outing, but she said she had a fresh song idea to work on in the theater instead.
So the three became two.
Lianhua and Kong Yu Bai were occupied, the makeup artist was hard to drag along, Mo Rabbit was MIA, the Director of the troupe trio could never make it out, and Gu Qiu stuck out too much.
Looks like just Night Star and Book Yao will have a day alone.
“Uh, let’s go, two’s company!”
“Okay.”
In the blink of an eye, Night Star and Book Yao showed up in Chinatown’s blind spot, unnoticed by everyone.
Night Star used one-third of her “Existence Interference” to reduce their presence and conceal Little Lian’s faint Star Eclipses aura—totally within manageable limits.
Too bad she couldn’t fully utilize the powers of “Existence Interference.” If danger struck, only her makeshift figurine, Little Lian, could handle it. After all, Little Lian had the potential to unleash unprecedented chaos as a Supernova Star Eclipse!
But Night Star would keep it under control.
“So, where should we go?” Night Star asked.
She was clueless too, so she decided to ask Book Yao for suggestions.
Instead of saying “whatever,” Book Yao fell into a brief contemplation.
“Does this city even have a library?”
“A library? Hmm… Let’s check.”
Night Star pulled out her smart device and started searching for information on Waltonka, discovering that the city had a real library stocked with tons of physical books, much like the one in Qi Yuan City.
“Oh, there really is a library!”
“Let’s go see then.”
Everyone knew Book Yao, besides sticking with Night Star, only had one true hobby: reading.
Dragging Night Star along to read was a wish fulfillment on both fronts.
Night Star naturally didn’t resist.
Reading didn’t always mean slogging through dreary textbooks; fun reads could be worthwhile.
With Night Star’s magic wish machine translating for her, foreign books posed no challenge—a walk in the park compared to Qi Yuan City.
They then navigated the map towards Waltonka’s library, inching closer bit by bit.

A petite, cute girl was scouring for ancient historical records.
“Ugh… these old books are tough to find—why can’t I locate anything about the Demon King?”
Once, she found an old book in her basement that detailed ancient history, including a reference to the “Black Feather Demon King.” That caught her interest. Yet despite her exhaustive search at home and online, she found no additional clues on the demon king who defeated the Holy Church.
She came to this library hoping for some discovery, but after much effort, came up empty.
If not for her mother’s warning not to spread rumors, she would’ve already headed for the nearest church to seek verification.
“Is the Order of Sequence connected to the Holy Church? Do they know about the existence of the Demon King? I really want to ask…”
Sadly, her mother forbade discussing these matters with the Order of Sequence. So now she’d have to hunt on her own.
She flipped through a newly acquired history book and began reading.
