Chapter 73: Let’s Go See the Concert
The morning of the second day of the weekend.
Night Star woke up as usual from the theater, full of energy.
Even though this week’s outdoor performances had ended, she still wanted to take the group out somewhere. After all, the preparations for Qing Liao’s concert were starting.
Night Star could not miss out on this.
Moreover, Night Star had suggested to the theater leader that they should include Qing Liao in their performances, so they had to bring the group to see her show.
After Night Star finished washing up, she saw Mo Rabbit again, who seemed to have just returned from some shenanigans outside.
“Mo Rabbit, how’s the situation outside?”
“Well, you mean that. On the surface, there are many people eagerly awaiting the Qing Liao Songstress’s concert; the whole city was very lively early in the morning. But if you look underground, those various star organizations are behaving like turtles withdrawing their heads, and criminals planning something on this day seem to be receiving some sort of signal, temporarily keeping quiet.”
Mo Rabbit had spent the previous night poking around looking for fun.
During this process, she heard rumors including, but not limited to, theories of city destruction, star eclipsing world annihilation, and star ruling theories. Some even believed that the Rising Sun Theater Group would eventually destroy all of Waltonka, so they fled overnight with some vehicles.
Some were even more dramatic, thinking that Free Country was no longer safe and attempting to seek refuge in other countries, only returning when things settled down.
It seems these star organizations are well aware of the dangers of star eclipsing, which is quite informative—although only in the underworld.
At least after the appearance of the Rising Sun Theater Group yesterday, Waltonka’s order should be temporarily stable.
What they needed was something more terrifying to suppress terror, which was also a way to maintain order.
For Waltonka’s current state of affairs, nothing suited the task of suppressing chaos better than the Rising Sun Theater Group.
Of course, this was only temporary.
Sooner or later, those people would learn about the Rising Sun Theater Group’s status from Huaxia. If they discover they only need to avoid interfering with the weekend shows, they might become reckless again.
Originally, the Rising Sun Theater Group needed only audiences during weekends and didn’t bother with the rest of the week.
Doing heroic deeds wasn’t the group’s affair.
But now, with an unpredictable variable in the form of an Audience Performer, anything could happen.
If the Audience Performer requested something, Mo Rabbit firmly believed that anyone would fulfill her wishes, even to the extent of slaughtering certain individuals.
It all depended on whether the actions of other groups crossed the line and invoked the Audience Performer’s wrath.
Once over that line, they were on their own.
Back to reality.
Night Star couldn’t help sighing after hearing Mo Rabbit’s report.
“In that case, I suppose Qing Liao’s concert shouldn’t run into much trouble today, right? As long as those with special powers don’t interfere, the problems will decrease significantly.”
“Indeed, but we must still proceed with caution. If a few reckless individuals decide to make a move, we’ll be in trouble,” said Mo Rabbit.
“Mmm, makes sense.”
Night Star couldn’t be sure everyone understood the significance of the Rising Sun Theater Group’s appearance. There were undoubtedly some who simply did not know or cared about it.
Regardless of the existence of the Rising Sun Theater Group, they would strike. That could not be changed.
“Given that, we definitely need to watch Qing Liao’s concert!” Night Star replied confidently.
“Do you want to protect her personally?”
“It’s not impossible. Qing Liao said she didn’t need me to trouble myself with it. But with just the Order of Sequence crew, if they can’t handle it, then it would be up to me.”
Mo Rabbit chuckled lightly.
“It’ll be others taking action, right? You just direct them.”
“What? Mo Rabbit, are you underestimating me?”
“Not at all. I think you’re the strongest member of the troupe. Protecting someone like this isn’t a job worthy of your power, so my strength is at your disposal.”
Mo Rabbit’s words conveyed a heart-wrenching sense of humility.
Once upon a time, she was a carefree, dashing young man, doing as she pleased whenever and wherever. It was truly a joyous life.
But ever since meeting the loli, her life had undergone a complete transformation.
From a dashing young man to a cute loli, from freedom to bound by constraints, even the way she spoke was dictated by the whims of the loli, truly humbling.
What had these sacrifices earned her?
An interesting life filled with thrilling events and unexpected encounters.
For Mo Rabbit, these were worth it.
At least currently… she found this amusing experience enjoyable and not too bothersome.
Such was her nature—content with whatever came her way.
In this context, being ordered around by Night Star wasn’t unbearable.
After all, she was the group’s announcer, and by extension, the caretaker of the theater’s sole Audience Performer, a unique unwritten rule within the troupe.
Of course, if the Audience Performer didn’t find it amusing, that would be even better.
Talking about this made her feel melancholic.
At this moment, Kong Yu Bai walked over, wrapping around Night Star and giving her a big smooch.
“Good morning, Audience Performer.”
“Good morning, Singer.”
“Seems like today is the day of Qing Liao’s concert. What are your plans?”
“Hmm, I plan to take the entire theater troupe to check it out. Qing Liao sent a few tickets, too.”
Night Star gleefully showed off her electronic tickets, clearly front row seats.
Although the Rising Sun Theater Group could sneak into the concert venue unnoticed, seating arrangements posed some challenges. Thus, Qing Liao had utilized her world songstress privilege to secure quite a few tickets.
With that, bringing along the entire group would now be feasible.
Kong Yu Bai rubbed Night Star’s head, understanding the situation.
“Have you made preparations?”
“Not yet, but I’m going to notify the troupe leader soon, along with asking them to dress casually, similar to that day we went shopping.”
Actually, these clothes were still stored at the theater, probably kept as performance attire, seeing as they usually didn’t wear them otherwise.
It was still early—the concert began in the afternoon.
They had ample time to get themselves ready.
Aside from changing clothes, there was also the pre-outing makeup session.
Though it wasn’t strictly necessary, the makeup artist insisted on it as a statement of life attitude that couldn’t be ignored.
Therefore, whoever left the theater had to get some makeup done, even if they didn’t fancy it.
This particular makeup artist maintained strong opinions on this matter.
Such was the depth of their obsession.
Even the most pampered Audience Performer’s tantrums were ineffective against it.
Amidst these preparations, they could still indulge in leisure activities like surfing Free Country’s forums or chatting with Lulu Lana about various affairs.
Speaking of which…
After yesterday’s performance, Lulu Lana had developed a new perspective on the Demon King—so much so that she wanted to meet the troupe leader right away.
Looks like the troupe leader now had a loyal little fan.
Quite a cause for celebration.
