Chapter 82: Natural Rivals
In a certain villa…
A golden-haired loli was brimming with anticipation, eagerly waiting for her friend to keep their promise.
Lulu Lana sat demurely in the room, holding a smart device and chatting with someone, a cute smile on her face.
The person she was chatting with was none other than Night Star, her newly made good friend. During one of the weekends, Lulu Lana saw an interesting show and became quite intrigued by it.
She also met the legendary Demon King, who happened to be the old man performing magic tricks. Her admiration for him grew stronger, and she looked forward to having a chat with him.
Night Star messaged her through the chat interface, telling her to stay put in the room and that they would come over soon. Lulu Lana was thrilled at the news.
After a while, Lulu Lana noticed a pitch-black door suddenly appear on a nearby wall, looking incredibly eerie. But she wasn’t afraid because last time, when Night Star went to find the Demon King, this door had also appeared before.
The appearance of this dark portal indicated that someone was about to arrive. And sure enough, under Lulu Lana’s expectant gaze, a petite silver-haired figure emerged from it — none other than Night Star.
“Night Star, you finally came!”
“Haven’t kept you waiting, right?”
“No.” Lulu Lana quickly shook her head and asked hastily, “Can we go see the Theater Group Leader now?”
“Of course, you’re already one of our theater group’s audience members, so you’re fully qualified to enter the theater— just don’t let anyone know.”
Lulu Lana nodded vigorously. “Yes! Don’t worry, I won’t tell a soul— not even my mom.”
“Are you ready then?”
“Yes, Mom has been very busy lately, almost never home. I’ve also informed the maid not to disturb me today, so everything will be perfect.”
“Phew, such a relief!”
Night Star couldn’t help but sigh.
“Come with me then.”
Night Star led the way into the Theater Door, with Lulu Lana quickly following suit, closing her eyes as she passed through the dark portal.
When she reopened her eyes, she realized she was in a dimly lit space, where the atmosphere was oddly cold and mysterious.
Night Star grabbed Lulu Lana’s hand and brought her to the stage, a curious twinkle in her eye.
“Welcome to the Rising Sun Theater, Lulu Lana.”
“It feels… amazing, like a secret hideout.”
Lulu Lana was awestruck, feeling more impressed than she had ever felt in her own villa.
Then Night Star called out loudly, “Everyone! I brought a new audience member with me— come out and say hello!”
Her voice echoed within the theater, and soon, silhouettes began emerging from shadows to look at them.
“Woah…”
Lulu Lana also saw a figure step out, her eyes lighting up with excitement.
The Theater Group Leader, the Gentleman, the Fraudster, the Singer, the Puppet Master, the Playwright, the Announcer, and the Makeup Artist were all present.
There was also a pigeon that flew down and perched itself on Night Star’s head.
“Gruuuk!”
Quickly regaining her composure, Lulu Lana politely bowed to each of them.
“Hello everyone, my name is Lulu Lana. It’s nice to meet you all. I watched the weekend performance, and it was fantastic! I’m really excited to join you.”
Her introduction broke the silence.
Kong Yu Bai smiled warmly. “Don’t be so nervous. As our guest, we’re here to welcome you.”
“Is that so?”
Night Star chimed in, “Absolutely. Our theater group treats its audience very nicely. As long as you’re a fan, everything’s smooth sailing.”
Then Night Star shifted her tone toward the Theater Group Leader.
“Group Leader! This viewer here is actually your biggest fan.”
“Oh?”
The Group Leader’s attention was piqued, and he fixed a keen gaze on Lulu Lana.
Lulu Lana felt nervous knowing the legendary Demon King was staring at her.
“Hi, um, Mr. Group Leader, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I first learned about you in a book and have always been curious. Finally seeing you in person makes me incredibly happy.”
“I appreciate your respect, Ms. Lulu Lana. Your support means a lot.”
Upon hearing these words, Lulu Lana’s face flushed deeply, her heart beating fiercely. Her rosy cheeks were incredibly charming.
“I actually talked with the legendary Demon King, oh my god, it’s awesome!”
If she could return home now, she probably would be rolling around ecstatically in bed, releasing her excitement.
Unfortunately, being in a theater, her upbringing would stop her from acting too crazy.
At this moment, Lianhua stepped onto the stage, trying to connect with Lulu Lana.
“Hi there. I’m a Puppet Master, and your friend, the Audience Performer, told me you are her friend too. Therefore, I believe we can be friends.”
Lianhua’s soft voice accompanied a tentative hand gesture.
“Puppet Master, nice to meet you,” Lulu Lana responded, extending her hand too.
But an unexpected incident occurred.
Zzz!
Electric-like sensations shot through Lianhua, causing her to retract her hand quickly, a puzzled expression on her face.
“What happened?” Lulu Lana held her arm in mid-air, looking confused.
After hesitating for a moment, Lianhua said, “When we touched, it felt tingly…”
“Could it be static electricity?”
Night Star voiced her own doubt.
Lianhua nodded uncertainly.
“Let’s try again.”
She extended her hand once more, meeting Lulu Lana’s hand.
This time, Lianhua didn’t pull away; instead, she clung onto Lulu Lana firmly.
Under everyone’s watchful gaze, something extraordinary happened.
A dazzling white light erupted from Lulu Lana’s body, radiating a purifying energy.
And this force showed signs of harming Lianhua.
However, the moment Lianhua felt this, an unexpected entity named Little Lian emerged and took control of Lianhua’s body, showing no intention of backing down despite Lulu Lana’s resistance.
In the end, the energy barely scratched Little Lian and even seemed to get suppressed fiercely.
“Ahhh…that hurt!”
With a sorrowful wail, Little Lian released Lulu Lana’s hand, allowing Lianhua to regain control.
The white glow around Lulu Lana slowly faded away.
Silence swiftly fell on the scene.
Night Star’s face showed shock. She had no idea what just transpired.
“What just happened?”
“I don’t know…” Lulu Lana weakly replied, feeling somewhat drained.
Was it the Star’s doing?
Night Star muttered to herself, immediately guessing correctly.
That white light must have originated from the influence of a Star.
But why did it react so strongly in response to Lianhua touching her?
Could Lianhua have triggered the release of Lulu Lana’s Star power?
Just as Night Star pondered this, Mo Rabbit opened her eyes at the foot of the stage.
“That girl…is the natural enemy of Star Eclipses.”
