Chapter 90: Breaking the Balance
After arriving at the theater, Qing Liao quickly blended in with the theater group.
Most of the members had already been to her concert, so they naturally recognized her as a powerful vocalist.
With such talent, it was as easy as pie to gain the acceptance of the troupe members.
Let’s not even mention the more human members like Kong Yu Bai; even the group leader and others acknowledged Qing Liao’s singing ability.
Right now, Qing Liao was on stage performing a duet with Kong Yu Bai. It was the first time for Night Star to witness a battle of world-class songstresses.
“Wow, amazing! Sing more!”
Night Star’s face turned crimson, clearly super excited.
Qing Liao and Kong Yu Bai really lived up to their status as world songstresses; their singing was so full of flair, not to mention the epic vocal battle—it was totally lit!
Night Star was just soaking in the auditory feast and couldn’t even begin to critique anything.
After all, she wasn’t an expert. Who needed to craft lengthy essays on a trivial matter?
Meanwhile, all the troupe members sat in the audience, enjoying the performance, and even the group leader and friends showed up.
Looks like they were somewhat interested in this performance.
Suddenly, Lianhua piped up, “How about the Audience Performer joins in? She sings beautifully too!”
The makeup artist, playwright, and others nodded in support—clearly eager to see the Audience Performer on stage.
However, Night Star shook her head like a rattling toy, clearly distressed by the idea.
“Pass! I’m just a little chick, jumping into a duel between two giants is like signing my own d*ath warrant—better not embarrass myself up there!”
Night Star had a good sense of self-awareness.
Though she fancied herself a better singer than many, she wasn’t delusional enough to think she could hold a candle to Kong Yu Bai and Qing Liao.
They were the real deal, world songstresses; Night Star, at best, was just someone who could sing.
It felt way more comfortable to watch the star duel from the audience!
Later on.
Kong Yu Bai and Qing Liao stepped off the stage, looking quite satisfied.
“I never imagined I’d share the same stage as my idol, the Blank Songstress! I’m thrilled!”
Qing Liao looked like she had just scratched her eternal fangirl itch.
Kong Yu Bai had been her idol since childhood, and her dream was to stand on stage with the Blank Songstress after achieving something in her singing career.
Now, her dream was not just met but overachieved, sharing the stage with her idol under such circumstances—what a delightful surprise!
To which Kong Yu Bai chuckled.
“Is that all it takes to satisfy you? You should at least include Night Star in that satisfaction!”
“True… three songstresses seem better, don’t you think?”
The two returned to the audience section, taking their seats beside the troupe members.
At that moment, Lianhua stood up, a beaming smile plastered on her face.
“Next up, it’s my turn!”
Clearly, Lianhua was ready to perform a puppet show.
Since this performance kicked off with Qing Liao and Kong Yu Bai, it wasn’t going to wrap up that quickly.
Besides, it was also a welcoming gesture for Qing Liao—what better way than a performance as a welcome ceremony for the troupe?
Not only Lianhua, but the group leader and others would also take the stage soon to welcome Qing Liao’s arrival.
You know, just your usual hospitable theater folks?
Qing Liao plopped down in a seat next to a little girl with short black hair.
During introductions, the girl claimed to be the Announcer, looking very mysterious.
But upon closer inspection, the Announcer didn’t really feel like a Star Eclipse; she seemed quite human.
Could she be another human, like Night Star, mingling in the troupe?
Just as Qing Liao was pondering this, the Announcer suddenly spoke up, “Miss Qing Liao, why are you staring at me? Your curious gaze is slightly making me uncomfortable.”
Qing Liao immediately apologized.
“I’m sorry! I just have this feeling that you look familiar. Have we met somewhere before?”
The Announcer flashed a harmless smile.
“Not at all! This is our first meeting, it must be your imagination.”
“I see…”
With that, Qing Liao dropped the thought.
The Announcer let out a sigh of relief internally.
Best to keep the fact that she was connected to Mo Tu under wraps.
Qing Liao’s instincts were surprisingly sharp, even more so than her divination skills.
While her star divination had some basis, this intuition was just baffling.
Even though Mo Rabbit’s intuition wasn’t too shabby either.
After shaking off Qing Liao, Mo Rabbit began to ponder closely.
It was primarily about Hilo.
That First Generation Star Eclipse seemed tough to tackle.
In Mo Rabbit’s divination, that Star Eclipse would interfere with Waltonka’s future, but how exactly it would interfere was beyond her capability to foresee.
Maybe Hilo didn’t mean to interfere but inadvertently broke some kind of balance. Who knew if it was just his curiosity at play?
Perhaps he only disrupted the status quo while satisfying his obsessions.
Unintentionally meddling with the fate of the city—classic moves of a Supernova Star Eclipse!
Just sitting idly could pose a problem.
With those thoughts, Mo Rabbit quietly left the theater and made her way to a tall building in Waltonka.
Night had fallen, and it wasn’t peaceful at all.
Boom!
An explosive sound echoed.
Massive sparks erupted from somewhere in the city, heralding chaos.
At another location, a thunderous noise rang out—clearly, someone was stirring up trouble.
Probably yet another company getting robbed.
These incidents seemed to happen once or twice every night.
Recently, they were happening a lot.
So much so that one might suspect a war was brewing in this city.
In the blink of an eye, Mo Rabbit arrived at the scene of the incident.
She hid in an unnoticed corner, safely observing everything happening on site.
Nearby innocent civilians had long fled, leaving behind the gruesome remnants of havoc.
Thick smoke, debris, and a cacophony of deafening sounds enveloped the area, under the ominous red light of a ‘No Entry’ sign, as if bl**d had painted the entire ground.
Mo Rabbit’s gaze landed on a few figures not far away—people were fighting.
It appeared to be several individuals attacking one person.
Various technological weapons unleashed barrages, lasers blazed in every direction, annihilating everything around.
Those weapons were in the hands of criminals—who knew where they got them from?
The attackers seemed to be knights from the Order of Sequence; even several knights working together couldn’t quickly take down the criminal causing the chaos.
The reason? That criminal had some serious power—strong enough that even a group of knights struggled.
In Mo Rabbit’s perception, those knighthoods from the Order weren’t weak, with at least one being more formidable than many in the Star Organization.
Yet, to see them all teaming up and still struggling against an obscure criminal was quite a laugh.
And such scenes had been happening frequently these days—one couldn’t help but sigh that today’s criminals were quite troublesome.
Was this normal?
Definitely not.
In Mo Rabbit’s divination, she learned those people’s powers didn’t actually belong to them.
As for who gave it to them, that was information beyond her reach to divine.
“Trading with humans, huh?”
Mo Rabbit mused to herself thoughtfully.
