Chapter 51: Duck Sit
When Xia Ling returned from her bath, as expected, she found Xia Yu plopping herself down in a duck sit on her princess bed, looking quite indignant. Obviously, Xia Yu must have figured out that there was something off about the red envelope Xia Ling had given her.
Thus, Xia Ling could only approach somewhat awkwardly and force a smile. “Little sister, what’s wrong with you?”
“You know exactly what’s wrong,” Xia Yu said, still indignant. Hitting the princess mattress to emphasize her point, she pouted even more.
Unbeknownst to Xia Yu, this adorable anger was just too much for Xia Ling to handle. So, facing this cute little sister, Xia Ling couldn’t hold back any longer.
With no hesitation, Xia Ling dashed forward and pounced on Xia Yu, who was still in a duck sit, onto the soft princess bed. She couldn’t help but exclaim, “Oh my, little sister is so cute! I can’t take it anymore!”
Xia Yu: …
Feeling the soft body pressing against her and smelling the lingering scent of Xia Ling — whether it was her natural fragrance or the perfume from her bathing — Xia Yu felt a wave of embarrassment and awkwardness, mixed with the anger she had earlier disappearing completely.
After some time, Xia Ling seemed satisfied with her cuddling and got up from Xia Yu. To her surprise, Xia Yu was so easy to hug; she loved the feeling so much that she was almost… addicted.
Seeing Xia Yu still on the bed, looking like she was about to cry, Xia Ling realized she looked nothing like the Second Brother she knew. Instead, she resembled a poor, bullied younger sister.
Playing her role as the big sister, Xia Ling started comforting Xia Yu.
Under Xia Ling’s soothing words, Xia Yu regained her composure instead of crying. Otherwise, Xia Ling would have been at a loss, dealing with crying siblings and all.
Then Xia Ling remembered she hadn’t dried her hair yet. So after getting off the bed, she sat in front of the vanity desk. “Little sister, come over and help me dry my hair.”
“I don’t know how!” Xia Yu quickly replied, still in a duck sit on the bed. This time, however, she held a phone in her hand.
Yep, Xia Ling’s tactic was to lure Xia Yu with a smartphone, and Xia Yu succumbed to the temptation without much resistance.
“You can learn! Hurry up, or I won’t let you play with your phone later.” Xia Ling continued, her voice now laced with a hint of threat.
Hearing that, Xia Yu dared not refuse. Reluctantly putting down her phone, she headed toward Xia Ling, knowing a short-term reward was better than a long-term ban.
With Xia Ling’s guidance, Xia Yu finally managed to dry her hair. Unnoticed by them, their bond as sisters deepened. As for brother-sister bonding—what was that?
Having completed her mission, Xia Yu proudly returned to her princess bed to continue her duck sit game. No idea why she chose that position, she just found it stable and comfortable.
