Chapter 98: The Cleanup
Waltonka.
Ever since Hilo left the city, the chaos had been decreasing in frequency.
Those criminals who suddenly gained immense power and got out of hand were almost all cleaned up by the Order of Sequence.
However, there was one thing that irked the Order of Sequence a bit.
They couldn’t find this mysterious person known as Hilo. It was as if he never existed at all.
Plus, there truly were no new updates or news about him recently.
No one had heard anything from him for a while either.
This made the members of the Order of Sequence rather puzzled.
Could that suspected Super Nova Star Eclipse have left Waltonka?
That possibility was quite high.
After all, a Super Nova grade Star Eclipse has commendable intelligence and could be quite spontaneous too.
They seemed to just act according to their whims—once they got what they wanted, they might leave the place.
In terms of being capricious, Star Eclipses were even more unpredictable than most humans.
After a few days of investigation, the Order discovered that there were indeed no transactions with anyone named Hilo.
They then assumed that Hilo must have left Waltonka, setting aside their search to get back to maintaining the order.
The appearance of the Rising Sun Theater group brought in quite a few Holy Knights to Waltonka, so it was the perfect time to clean up the forces here.
There were lots of criminal organizations in this city, and almost all of them involved Star Holders.
To reduce their workload and restore normal law and order, the Order of Sequence decided to increase their campaign against these organizations.
In just a few short days, many citizens noticed mass movements by the Order of Sequence, constantly tracking down hidden criminal groups.
These criminals, under the pressure of multiple Holy Knights, had virtually no resistance and were wiped out in large numbers.
The entire force structure of Waltonka was reordered and the underworld thoroughly cleaned up, restoring temporary calm.
Of course, some stubborn elements chose to lay low, hiding deeply and avoiding direct confrontation, allowing them to escape detection.
Some typical non-descript groups were also affected and disbanded, fleeing.
A few small organizations were simply too insignificant to catch the attention of the Order of Sequence, avoiding being targeted by mistake.
Take Night Hunt as an example.
Night Hunt barely consisted of four people with little public presence. They could even pass off as a normal restaurant and hadn’t been noticed by the Order of Sequence.
During those times, Night Hunt pretended to be a regular restaurant, serving customers and appearing quite bustling, thus slipping by unnoticed.
Now it’s nighttime.
The number of customers at the Night Hunt cafe finally hit its lowest point. There were almost no guests left.
He Li Xia, holding a rag, muttered, “The Order of Sequence has really ramped things up lately, actually playing housekeeper and cleaning out tons of gangs.”
Mo Xiao was at the front desk calculating today’s income and expenses, picking up He Li Xia’s comment in passing.
“They should’ve done this long ago. A big cleanup was inevitable; otherwise, Waltonka would only grow chaotic.”
He Li Xia felt that made sense.
“This means our competitors must have greatly reduced, right? I heard many entrusted groups were mistakenly eliminated.”
“But those who remain are quite powerful. Competing with them won’t be easy.”
“Ha! There’ll always be a few like us, dodging troubles, as long as we’re not last.”
Just then, the customer bell rang in the cafe, signaling the arrival of a new guest.

As He Li Xia went to greet the newcomer, she realized who it was.
A loli and a girl entered, looking very familiar.

“Night Star? Kong Yu Bai?”
Night Star raised her cute smile.

“Come to eat, anything wrong with that?”

“True.” He Li Xia didn’t know what else to say.
Then, Night Star confidently ordered several dishes and waited patiently.
He Li Xia moved to a nearby table, asking curiously.
“Why didn’t you guys leave Waltonka? I thought you were gone.”
That threw Night Star for a loop.
“Why would we leave?”
Stumped, He Li Xia countered, “Didn’t Qing Liao Songstress leave the city? So I thought you’d follow.”
“Oh?”
Night Star wasn’t sure how to respond.
Could she explain that Qing Liao Songstress was staying at the Rising Sun Theater?
That was impossible.
No one should know the real situation of Qing Liao Songstress.
“Ah~ Leaving doesn’t mean we have to follow. Actually, we still have things to do in Waltonka, staying for at least a month.”
“Is that so?”
Although He Li Xia was curious, she didn’t press further.
Since they weren’t close friends, she wouldn’t share secrets either.
Night Star and Kong Yu Bai had minimal interaction with Night Hunt before leaving after getting full.
Back at the Rising Sun Theater now, Qing Liao was singing on stage, taking over Kong Yu Bai’s spot.
If it weren’t for Kong Yu Bai’s presence, Qing Liao could easily become the Songstress.
Approaching with a laugh, Night Star said, “Qing Liao, the next outdoor performance is coming up. Are you ready for the show?”
“I’ve been ready,” Qing Liao replied confidently, undaunted by the upcoming performance.
She was a world-renowned singer who’d seen bigger stages; this was peanuts compared to that.
It was rumored that this performance would feature a duet with Kong Yu Bai to attract more audience.
Perfect!
Qing Liao was also looking forward to singing with the Blank Songstress in front of a crowd.
Night Star would make it even better.
Unfortunately, Night Star seemed not interested in performing yet, saying it wasn’t the right time.
Under such circumstances, she might only perform at grand events.
But Qing Liao could wait until then.

After that, she sat down in the audience, taking out her phone to chat with her gold-haired loli friend, Lulu Lana, whom she met in Waltonka.
Lately though, Lulu Lana was preoccupied with her mother’s work location.
Seemed it was due to the stars on her.
So, Night Star could only use chats to cheer her up.
Comforting lolis, she did pretty well.
