# Chapter 4: The Situation in Pinghaishi
Inside Zero Meow’s lounge.
Night Lan was busy checking information about Pinghaishi with a few little Lolis.
From what the internet describes, Pinghaishi is a coastal city with two distinct parts.
Located on the edge of the continent, Pinghaishi is right next to the real big sea.
The seaside attractions are incredibly authentic; none of that fake beachfront nonsense seen in other cities trying to lure in tourists.
The coolest thing about Pinghaishi is how it’s split into two parts: one part is a sub-city of the continental plate, and the other is a separate island city floating on the waves. Together, they make up the true Pinghaishi!
The most special section is the island city, which is literally surrounded by water, resembling a small island that has been fully developed. Skyscrapers made of steel stretch up like a forest of technology, and the coastal industries are booming, giving it a unique flair.
Thanks to significant investments in funding and technology, Pinghaishi has become a famous coastal tourist city that’s economically thriving—now that’s what they call a real city!
The island city isn’t too far from land—less than ten kilometers, and you can hop on a boat to get back and forth with ease. Talk about a close-knit community!
Word has it that Pinghaishi even has two Night Watcher Bases, one on land and one at sea, each handling their respective areas. How special is that?
Learning all this made Night Lan eager to explore the city.
Meanwhile, Night Star just wanted to take her friends to the beach and play in swimsuits!
That would be such a blast!
After reading about Pinghaishi, the little Lolis chimed in with their thoughts.
“Mm, meow… So Pinghaishi is such a special city? With two parts and right next to the ocean? I really want to see it!”
Even Zero Meow was feeling a bit excited.
It would be even better if she could go with her friends.
Especially Night Lan.
If she could see Night Lan in a swimsuit, Zero Meow would absolutely whip up some spicy swimsuit art!
Of course, drawing White Fish and the others in swimsuits wouldn’t be too shabby either—just thinking about it made her happy.
“It sounds like we might actually be able to make this happen, meow…”
Suddenly, Zero Meow remembered Night Lan’s connection to the Rising Sun Theater Group.
The Rising Sun Theater Group has this magical door—once you get permission, anyone can use the theater door to travel to far-off places.
For instance, getting from Yun Chang City to Pinghaishi seems doable.
If that’s the case, sneaking off to play in Pinghaishi might just work, as long as they’re not caught.
But let’s be real—staying under the radar is nearly impossible.
Unless they only pop in and out for a super short visit, which would definitely raise eyebrows.
But honestly, who wants to spend so little time having fun? Might as well stay home.
If only they could take a leave of absence to go on vacation to that city!
Too bad the higher-ups probably wouldn’t let their little Night Watchers wander off freely.
Looks like it was just wishful thinking.
“Sigh~”
Zero Meow pouted, her head down as she imagined Night Lan in a swimsuit, trying to cheer herself up through her wild imagination.
The other little Lolis were also curious and started asking questions.
Star Yoon was intrigued about whether the beach would have fish to catch.
“Of course! There’s tons of fish at the beach, all kinds! Even tiger sharks!”
Night Lan clasped her hands together, mimicking a fish swimming happily in the ocean—adorable!
She was literally talking about “catching fish” in the most literal sense!
Star Yoon thought for a moment, suddenly filled with excitement.
“I want to try!”
Not sure if she meant catching fish or seeing the tiger sharks Night Lan mentioned.
Neko Shinna was equally curious.
“If there’s a beach, there must be plenty of fresh ingredients, right?”
Neko Shinna had never tried cooking seafood, so she was very interested in what the ocean had to offer.
If she had the chance, she would absolutely love to dive into that culinary world.
Then she could cook for her friends!
Night Lan turned to White Fish who was sitting nearby.
“What about you, White Fish? Any thoughts?”
“If everyone wants to go, I can talk to Dad and my sister and ask her to take us!”
Everyone just froze for a moment.
“Can we really do that?”
“Not sure.”
“Well, let’s give it our best shot! If it works out, we can all go play at the beach!”
“Mm~”
…
Fast forward to night time.
Night Lan returned to the Fish Playing House and snuggled up with Night Star, who had just come out of the Rising Sun Theater.
Tonight, Night Star wasn’t in a rush to explore Pinghaishi; instead, she quietly climbed to the top of the tallest building in the city to gaze at the ocean, wanting to see the true vastness of the sea for herself.
The natural ocean is, of course, incomparable to some man-made beach.
It felt like an endless expanse, giving her a sense of smallness.
Once she’d taken in the view, Night Star returned to the theater to snuggle with Lianhua.
Since White Fish mentioned trying to get a group to visit Pinghaishi, Night Star was hoping that by then, they’d all be able to explore together.
If she went off solo, it wouldn’t be as fun.
Exploring is way more enjoyable with friends by your side.
Back to reality.
It’s nighttime now.
Night Star and Night Lan decided to bathe together and then snuggle in bed, while also sorting out their current situation.
The two quickly stripped down, giggling as they tiptoed barefoot to the bathroom. Right before heading in, they especially warned the mischievous Eypar to behave, just in case she jumped out to scare them.
Night Lan reached the bathtub and slowly filled it with warm water.
All they had to do was wait for it to fill up!
In the meantime, the two Lolis helped each other wash their hair and scrub their backs, and after those jobs were done, the tub was almost full of hot water.
Night Lan rinsed Night Star’s silver hair with warm water, then applied shampoo and worked up a delightful lather. It felt so nice!
As they enjoyed the experience, they started chatting away.
“Speaking of which, my psychic abilities didn’t really feel all that different after moving up to B grade.”
Night Star Lan’s psychic power jumped from C to B, a huge leap!
But she didn’t feel a thing.
Shouldn’t that kind of leap feel like a total life transformation?
Or maybe she just read too many light novels?
Regardless, she felt pretty satisfied to reach this point.
She wasn’t even demanding to reach A grade.
B grade is the most stable phase.
Not too strong, not too weak, making it easier to realize her wishes.
Even if some supernova star eclipses tried to mess with her, she wouldn’t be scared anymore!
Night Star fell into deep thought.
“My psychic powers only improved after I became a star eclipse, so is my only path to growth winding up being a star eclipse? Is it really no pain, no gain?”
Looking back, it actually made sense.
But Night Star Lan didn’t want to become a star eclipse again.
Of course, there was another possibility.
That’s when the Wish Princess heard Night Star’s heartfelt plea, felt a twinge of pity, and decided to share a bit of her stored psychic power.
Now that wasn’t entirely crazy to think.
But for now, her psychic power should be sufficient.
Night Star Lan wasn’t pushing for another boost; she just wanted to be okay.
No more need to struggle!
