Chapter 59: Talked Into It
As for how Xia Yu got back to class, that was easy—she just waited until after the bell rang and the guys who had cornered her went back to class. Only then could she make her way back.
Of course, no teachers came by; otherwise, Xia Yu wouldn’t have been trapped in the girls’ restroom, looking so pathetic.
Back in class, unsurprisingly, there were rumors flying around about Xia Yu entering the ladies’ room. She wasn’t sure if it was those four guys spreading the rumor or someone else who saw her miserable self and spread the word.
Regardless of who started it, everyone in the class knew about Xia Yu’s bathroom adventure, causing more and more female classmates to look at her with increasing disdain.
Ignoring the snickering looks from the boys and the scornful stares from the girls, Xia Yu marched back to her seat. Been there, done that, many times before.
Not long after, Class Monitor Wang Ruixue came over. He scanned the classroom, then said straight-up, “I need ten guys to help move some books. And Xia Yu, you go to the office and wait for me.”
That did not sound good to Xia Yu. She already guessed what the class monitor wanted to talk about, but she could only obediently stand up and head to the office.
The teacher’s office was huge—home to multiple homeroom teachers and substitute teachers. Xia Yu found a bunch of other teachers chatting together when she entered.
Standing by Wang Ruixue’s desk, Xia Yu waited quietly while he arranged for those guys to move the books back.
Soon enough, Wang Ruixue returned, plopping himself down on his desk and ignoring Xia Yu completely. “Xia Yu, do you know why I brought you here?”
“Um… sorta.” Xia Yu replied.
“Do tell. What am I here for?”
“Is it… about the girl’s restroom?” Xia Yu peeked at him nervously, then quickly diverted her gaze.
“Yes, do you remember what I told you this morning? You were with your father.”
“I remember. Not to use the girls’ restroom…”
Before Xia Yu could finish, Wang Ruixue cut her off. “If you remembered, then why did you go? I just had a girl come up to me complaining because they’re too scared to use the restroom now.”
“I… Teacher, I didn’t choose to go in. Someone pushed me in…” Xia Yu tried to explain.
But Wang Ruixue wasn’t having it. “Alright, alright. I get you were fooling around, but seriously, joking about the girl’s restroom isn’t cool, even when fooling around, Xiao Yu. You’re not a girl, right?”
Hearing this, Xia Yu felt her heart sinking. Especially that last bit—it hit her like a ton of bricks. It made her think back to all her past unpleasant moments.
Seeing Xia Yu in silence, Wang Ruixue didn’t say anything further. Instead, he handed her two stacks of meal tickets. “Fine, fine. Pay attention next time. Here, distribute these.”
