“d*mn… It’s here again…”
Night Lan glared at the familiar figure in the distance with a scowl so fierce you’d think she was about to go bald. She wanted nothing more than to jump in there and beat the guy to a pulp.
This dude brought tragedy to Star Sheng.
And now, he popped up in Shiyu Qianyi’s tale. It’s like he’s a pesky ghost!
No doubt, for sure.
The reason why Shiyu Qianyi turned into Star Eclipses must be because of this b*stard.
Star Sheng and Shiyu Qianyi’s fates were altered by him.
“I killed him already, so why is he back?”
Then Night Lan realized.
“Hmm, maybe it’s an alternate timeline? The Wish Machine fixes reality, so the Ballad Conductor could appear in anyone’s timeline? Maybe that’s it.”
Night Lan figured it out.
Though she’d killed the Ballad Conductor in Star Sheng’s story, Shiyu Qianyi’s fate wasn’t affected.
This Ballad Conductor still messed with people’s lives.
Ugh!
If Night Lan hadn’t shown up, the guy would have probably won.
Shiyu Qianyi appearing in his Star Eclipses form is proof of that.
But since Night Lan popped up here, history isn’t repeating itself!

Night Lan stepped into the timeline, cutting off any chance the Ballad Conductor had to act.
She didn’t want to see more tragedy in Shiyu Qianyi’s life.
Seeing Star Sheng transform into a real-life version of an eclipse was tragic enough.

Night Lan instantly appeared near where the Ballad Conductor was. He noticed her arrival and, for some reason, stopped what he was doing.
He looked at the strange girl with a puzzled expression and asked, “Who are you?”
“I’m your grandpa!”

Now, even though Ballad Conductor isn’t human anymore, his understanding of this era tells him this is some kind of insult.
But why would this black-haired girl curse him?
Surely, he doesn’t remember causing any tragedies for her.
If someone came back for revenge due to a tragic encounter, he wouldn’t mind. But this unknown punk? Not so much.
Ballad Conductor laughed.
“Haha, you think you’re talking to just anyone? Do you know who I am? You should realize what happens when you cross me. With the power I have, I can destroy this city easily.”
That sounded familiar to Night Lan.
At least a few days ago, she heard similar lines before.
“You’re the Ballad Conductor, one of the first Star Eclipses, specifically the Supernova Star Eclipses, right?”
Surprisingly, Ballad Conductor looked taken aback.
“You know? Okay, now I’m interested in you. But if you knew that and still came here, surely you weren’t scared, huh? Guess I need to show you the extent of my power.”
Night Lan clenched her fists.
While she wanted to punch him hard, it’d really hurt her, and hand-to-hand combat was the worst.
So instead, Night Lan reached out.
“Doll City.”
Suddenly, fine puppet strings emerged from nowhere and took control over Ballad Conductor’s joints, tossing him towards the nearest wall before he could react.
But before Night Lan could make another move, the puppet strings snapped, freeing the Ballad Conductor.
“It seems I misjudged you. You’ve got hidden power, huh? From your aura, you’re on the same level as me, but weaker. Is your power incomplete? If this is all you’ve got, you better get ready for a taste of tragedy.”
With that remark, the Ballad Conductor emitted a strong Star Eclipses aura, enough to rouse the nearby [Know Star], setting off massive alarms throughout the town!
Up until then, Ballad Conductor stayed concealed, but as his aura fully manifested, not only [Know Star] but also [Night Watchers] sensed a deadly danger.
Their instincts told them disaster was coming!
Against the might of a Supernova Star Eclipses, the town’s power was insignificant. Even three Sunlight Night Watchers couldn’t stand up to it.
If the Ballad Conductor decided to level the city, help from other towns’ Watchers wouldn’t come in time.
The actions of a first-generation Star Eclipses were much swifter compared to how Li Hua used to deal with things.
Facing an overwhelmingly powerful Ballad Conductor, Night Lan remained calm.
Her face showed no panic.
“Dream Narrator, Uncrowned Wanderer, Oya, Hilo, you’re the fifth.”
“Oh?”
Ballad Conductor’s eyes lit up, clearly intrigued.
“You met them too? Including me, encountering five out of nine? My interest in your fate is growing!”
Night Lan stared, saying softly, “Three of them I’ve beaten down and robbed of a third of their power, but not to d*ath.”
“??”
Ballad Conductor thought he misheard.
Strangely, his confidence took a slight dip.
Night Lan continued, “But you, I find especially annoying—so annoying I want to k*ll you. Creating tragedy isn’t something I can stand.”
Ballad Conductor’s expression turned serious.
His gut told him the girl wasn’t lying.
“Hey, who are you?”
“Just a passing Tragedy Destroyer, remember this.”
“Tragedy Destroyer?”
Clearly, a challenge.
But why did he suddenly feel he shouldn’t take offense? It felt like Night Lan meant it.
Could his thoughts have been influenced by her last words?
Even though different first generation Star Eclipses can’t compare domains, Night Lan mentioning she took down three still gave him pause.
But it didn’t mean he was scared.
No, he was mostly curious.
How could this girl possibly have the power to crush a first generation Star Eclipses?
Or was she perhaps Star Origin?
Impossible.
If she were Star Origin, Ballad Conductor should sense it.

Night Lan raised a hand and pointed at the Ballad Conductor.

Ballad Conductor exploded, and so did his aura.
Night Lan left without another word.
Encounters like this might happen again in another timeline, but she’d handle it the same way.
This guy must have caused plenty of tragedies she didn’t know about yet.
It just added to the list, like Star Sheng and Shiyu Qianyi.
People who create tragedies are the worst.
Never has anyone irked Night Lan this deeply.

There, unlike Star Sheng, she wasn’t burdened by tragic memories and thrived under loving care.
Perhaps she might not be the only one who cared for her anymore.
Would a Shiyu Qianyi, already showered with affection, still value her concern?
