Chapter 600

### Chapter 2: The Ballad of Elevated Specifications

A dazzling light illuminated the hall, and the pressure radiating from it almost made the Uncrowned Wanderer kneel.

This is it!

The aura of the Origin of the Stars!

And such a domineering and dangerous presence likely indicated it was in a Star Eclipse state.

As one of the First Generation Star Eclipses, the Uncrowned Wanderer naturally understood the Origin of the Stars.

It was exactly because of the Origin that he came into existence.

He bestowed incredible power upon humanity, making them strong and unstoppable, brimming with might.

But the Origin itself was unfathomable; no one really knew what its existence meant or to what extent it could reach.

To all First Generation Star Eclipses, it was the embodiment of omnipotence—a god of Star Eclipses and Stars.

Even if it turned into an unconscious glowing orb that looked harmless, the Uncrowned Wanderer refrained from any reckless actions.

Like, you know, touching it.

But not all First Generation Star Eclipses shared his cautious approach.

The Ballad Conductor was a prime example.

Although his power was granted by the Origin of the Stars, his personality carried over remnants of his previous human self, maintaining a hint of irreverence toward the Origin.

After all, not everyone who hung out with the Origin was a saint; personalities naturally varied.

Not everyone saw the Origin as an omnipotent deity deserving of utmost reverence.

Some viewed it as a friend, others as a rival, some as a teacher, and a few as family…

And the Ballad Conductor saw the Origin of the Stars as a worthy opponent, making him the biggest oddball among all First Generation Star Eclipses.

Even with the power bestowed upon him by the Origin, he felt little respect toward it, so he dared to act out of bounds.

But just a moment ago, the Uncrowned Wanderer never imagined the Ballad Conductor would dare to touch the Origin in that form.

That was some seriously risky business—a massive gamble!

And yet, the Ballad Conductor did, indeed, touch it.

After a while.

The blinding light faded away.

The orb representing the Origin had vanished, leaving only the figure of the Ballad Conductor standing there.

The Uncrowned Wanderer fell silent, sensing the aura emanating from the Ballad Conductor, realizing that the weakness he previously exhibited was now gone.

Not only that, but his specifications seemed to have skyrocketed, surpassing the so-called Supernova level, though it didn’t seem to exceed that of the Origin.

What on Earth was going on?

The Uncrowned Wanderer spoke up.

“What on earth happened? Ballad Conductor, answer me!”

The Ballad Conductor seemed still lost in the reverberations of his earlier actions and gradually came back to reality.

“Uncrowned Wanderer, this is a legacy left by Lord Kuro, naturally available for our usage as First Generation Star Eclipses.”

The Uncrowned Wanderer fell silent again, apparently struck by a particular word in the Ballad Conductor’s statement.

**Kuro.**

This was the true name of the Origin Star Eclipse—only known to the First Generation Star Eclipses.

“Did you acquire any additional information from the orb just now?”

The Uncrowned Wanderer could already guess what was up.

The Ballad Conductor nodded in acknowledgment.

“Of course! That was an enormous amount of information, and now I know why Lord Kuro lost control.”

“What was it?”

“A secret,” the Ballad Conductor grinned with a cheeky smile.

The Uncrowned Wanderer understood.

Having obtained Kuro’s legacy, the Ballad Conductor had become quite inflated, surpassing all the First Generation Star Eclipses.

No one knew what he might do next.

Perhaps create an unprecedented tragedy.

Maybe become the second Origin of the Stars.

Or retaliate against that pesky girl thwarting his plans for chaos?

The Uncrowned Wanderer couldn’t peek into the Ballad Conductor’s mind.

But he had a sinking feeling… humans were about to get into some serious trouble.

Pinghaishi.

Night Lan and White Fish had spent the day out and about.

They accompanied Star Sheng and Shiyu Qianyi to buy swimsuits for the beach and some other daily necessities.

Then they strolled around different places.

At the end of the day, they felt extremely fulfilled.

Ever since the issues surrounding Star Sheng and Shiyu Qianyi were resolved, Pinghaishi had settled back into a calm state.

No more polluted ocean creatures roaming about; they might have gone extinct or maybe just returned to normal after Star Sheng transformed into a human.

Whichever it was, it was a good thing.

Now there was just Li Yan, the middling Star Eclipse with a neutral stance.

He was pretty stable, free from severe Star Eclipse pollution, and blended well with human society; thus, he remained an observation target.

He probably would keep searching for endangered Star Eclipses.

But who had time to think about that? The weekend was about to roll around again.

The Rising Sun Theater Group’s performance was about to begin, and it was time to focus on that!

Last time the Audience Performer hadn’t shown up, and this time, it was crucial not to repeat that.

Otherwise, many Night Watchers would end up feeling the heat.

That wouldn’t bode well for Night Lan’s plans.

So it was vital to maintain the Audience Performer’s indispensable status within the Rising Sun Theater Group.

It would ensure the Night Watchers took it seriously.

Night Lan checked the time and realized it was getting late.

Time to hit the hay.

“Zero Meow, I’m going to sleep.”

“Mm, this kitty’s just gonna keep drawing for a bit longer.”

Zero Meow was focused on her tablet, clearly in the zone.

Even without looking, Night Lan knew she was drawing some risqué stuff.

At least half of those drawings were probably about Night Lan.

Good thing Zero Meow wouldn’t share them; otherwise, Night Lan would have to smack her.

Setting aside those distracting thoughts.

Night Lan and Night Star prepared for bed.

Night Star Lan fell asleep incredibly fast, a true talent that required only an empty mind to drift away.

But this time, she didn’t doze off; instead, she tapped into the power of a certain First Generation Star Eclipse to enter a conscious dream.

“It’s been ages since I dreamed.”

Night Star Lan opened her eyes in her dream, nostalgically gazing at this marvelous and surreal dreamscape.

This was an all-purpose dream constructed by one of the First Generation Star Eclipses—Dream Narrator power.

They say any dream could be experienced here.

Of course, Night Star Lan wasn’t planning on using it for anything scandalous. At most, she wanted to share a cozy moment with Dream Pursuer Yin.

But right now…

Night Star Lan not only wanted to snuggle with Dream Pursuer Yin, but she also wanted to chat with the Dream Narrator about a few things.

With that thought, she promptly summoned the Dream Narrator.

“Great Summoning of the Dream Narrator! Hurry up and bring Dream Pursuer Yin over for a meeting!”

Night Star Lan’s voice echoed through the dream world.

In less than a few seconds, two figures quietly appeared—the Dream Narrator and Dream Pursuer Yin beside him.

“What brings you here? You’ve been seeing me quite frequently lately.”

The concept of time for the Dream Narrator was a bit different from that of humans.

Having lived through eons, he certainly wasn’t comparable to the brief lifetimes of mere mortals.

To him, these past few months were practically a high visitation frequency.

Ignoring the Dream Narrator’s musings, Night Star Lan went to his side and whisked Dream Pursuer Yin away.

“Well, it’s just that so much has happened recently.”

The Dream Narrator observed Night Star Lan starting to cozy up to Dream Pursuer Yin, clearly unfazed by such scenes.

“Go on, what’s been happening?”

“The Ballad Conductor.”
