Chapter 62

Chapter 62: The Treatment of Girls

In elementary school gym class, even though nobody has to sweat too much over anything, you still need to gather—after all, no rules means chaos, right?

So soon, the fifth graders lined up on the playground. Due to the school’s small size, there was only one class per grade, so everyone pretty much knew each other.

Because teacher resources were also quite limited, the gym teacher for Xia Yu’s class was none other than her math teacher, Teacher Zhang Chao.

Xia Yu was the new kid this semester, and her homeroom teacher, Wang Ruixue, hadn’t bothered to mention her to Zhang Chao. Therefore, when Zhang Chao spotted Xia Yu standing in the boys’ line, he assumed he should rearrange everyone and said, “That girl in the far right of the third row, please step forward and take a position in the second row. There’s still space available!”

However, hearing Teacher Zhang’s words, Xia Yu didn’t realize he was talking about her. She looked around, scratching her head—noticing there weren’t many girls in the third row, wondering who the teacher was calling.

Seeing her confusion, Zhang Chao sighed and walked over to Xia Yu’s side, raising an eyebrow: “What are you looking at, dear? I was calling you! Didn’t you know this is the boys’ line?”

“I…”

Before Xia Yu could finish her sentence, Zhang Chao spotted Xia Ling, who looked strangely similar to Xia Yu. He pointed at her and said, “She must be your sister, right? So just go stand next to her. That’ll be your spot from now on.”

At Zhang Chao’s words, the girls in the second row miraculously shifted aside to make room for Xia Yu, trying hard not to burst into giggles—their amusement was barely contained!

It wasn’t just the girls; the boys in line were also stifling their laughter, but they were savvy enough to keep quiet, leaving Zhang Chao clueless about what was so funny.

So, Xia Yu was forcibly moved to stand beside Xia Ling. By this point, Xia Yu felt her voice was trapped; she was just being interrupted left and right!

Taking advantage of Zhang Chao’s momentary distraction, the mischievous Xia Ling poked Xia Yu in the side, causing her to squirm as she bit back her feelings—angry but unable to protest.

Before long, Zhang Chao wrapped up his lecture and began announcing the class requirements: “In a moment, you’ll jog around the playground. Stay in line! No scattering! You return the same way you went out. You can only stop when I say so. If I catch anyone trying to show off, I’ll make them run extra laps! Got it?”

“Got it~!” the students replied in unison.

“Alright, march!”

With that command, the fifth graders truly began to run. Zhang Chao’s arrangement had the bonus of preventing anyone from suddenly deciding to switch from running to a leisurely stroll.

When the fifth graders finished their first lap, the gym teacher stopped the girls in the first two rows: “You two rows can stop! The rest keep running, just like before!”

Since Xia Yu was now mixed in with the girls, she got to stop too—what can we say? Being a girl definitely had its perks!
