Chapter 656

### Chapter 8: Confirming Identities

Given that the theater troupe and Night Lan were all pretty boys and girls, and that everyone playing beach volleyball was ruggedly handsome guys, people walking on the beach couldn’t help but be drawn over. And of course, there were plenty of ladies too.

After all, everyone on the court was chiseled and strong. If it had been girls playing volleyball instead, there’d probably be lots of old perverts hanging around.

It’s understood, you know?

Night Star and Night Lan were lounging by the sidelines, snacking on melons and curious about what would happen next. Would Gentleman, Fraudster, Cai Xun, and Bu Jie have some explosive chemistry? It made for quite the tease.

Suddenly, the atmosphere heated up like a beach party.

White Paint stood by Night Lan’s side and naturally placed her hand on her head, petting her gently.

“So Night Lan had already arranged to meet with the Audience Performer here, huh?”

Night Lan blinked, suddenly wanting to act dumb.

But since she figured White Paint wasn’t that gullible, she admitted it.

“You’re sharp, White Paint! How did you figure it out?”

“Probably just intuition.”

White Paint didn’t ask for more details.

Sometimes, things were better left unsaid.

“It’s true you really can’t be underestimated. You didn’t find it strange why the relationship between me and the Audience Performer was so good?”

“If anything could happen, it would. I’m convinced.”

White Paint had high standards.

She never doubted that Night Lan could do anything once she learned that Night Star was an upgraded Wish Machine. To her, becoming friends with an Audience Performer wasn’t enough to surprise her.

But still, White Paint was curious about what Night Lan had in mind.

Girl curiosity was at play here.

“Can you tell me? Your intentions and objectives, I promise I won’t tell anyone.”

This included the Night Watchers.

Night Lan suddenly thought that White Paint might have spy potential.

If one day White Paint decided to rebel within the Night Watcher organization, she might join forces with Night Lan.

Night Lan considered this, and decided there was no need to keep secrets.

“I just want to have the Rising Sun Theater Troupe and the Night Watchers get along well. The current troupes are nothing like before—they shouldn’t be seen as a dangerous threat but could collaborate instead.”

“I see, it’s exactly the sort of thing you would think of.”

White Paint felt no surprise.

“What about Audience Performer?”

“Mmm… In a way, my thoughts match hers.”

Night Lan hadn’t told Audience Performer that it was actually herself.

Better to prepare before revealing everything.

White Paint quickly accepted this reality.

“Friends with like-minded goals. I believe you’ll succeed, and I’ll support you.”

“Mmm, thanks, White Paint.”

White Paint looked into the field where Cai Xun and Bu Jie had begun their intense game.

Cai Xun and Bu Jie weren’t ordinary mortals but Night Watchers with superior physical abilities. Gentleman and Fraudster were Star Eclipses with extraordinary powers and capabilities far beyond normal humans.

They were now competing without using their special skills, relying solely on their basic physical abilities. It felt like an even fight.

The scene was intense, rivaling the “k*ll ball” from anime shows.

White Paint looked at the two teammates on the court.

She should have cheered them on, but her shy personality held her back.

Then she had a sudden realization.

“Might Fraudster have provoked Cai Xun and Bu Jie on purpose to initiate a dialogue? Is there a plan behind it?”

Night Star came over casually, pretending to have nothing to do with Night Lan.

“Nope, Fraudster decided on his own. I haven’t told them to do anything.”

“Oh, hmm. So maybe Fraudster and Gentleman aren’t as dangerous after all.”

Even though White Paint had encountered these two groups of Star Eclipses before, it didn’t bother her as much as it did with Cai Xun and Bu Jie.

Even if they were once enemies, they’d likely become comrades in time. After all, it was Night Lan’s wish.

Anything she wanted could come true eventually.

White Paint then turned to Audience Performer who approached her.

A sudden urge to pet her head arose.

But she reminded herself they weren’t that close, yet.

Why did she feel this way?

As they got closer, Audience Performer started to resemble Night Lan more.

Although they had different hair colors and face shapes, their bodies were surprisingly similar.

Both were dressed in cute swimsuits, showing many similar body details.

White Paint noticed every fine detail, thinking these two must have been made from the same mold.

Their voices were also incredibly similar.

Audience Performer’s voice sounded a bit artificial, as if she was concealing something.

And this uncanny familiarity felt like having two Night Lans by her side.

Her instincts said not to dwell on it, but she couldn’t help but draw comparisons.

What would Audience Performer look like once she removed her mask? Maybe she was equally cute.

Maybe cuter than or equal to Night Lan in terms of cuteness.

Or perhaps the real face hidden beneath the mask was the same as Night Lan’s?

The idea made White Paint marvel at her imagination.

It was absurd.

Yet, Night Lan had taught that anything could happen under her watch.

Because of this, White Paint didn’t dismiss such absurd possibilities.

No matter what.

She needed to bond with Audience Performer, right?

Night Lan suggested she should interact more with the theater troupe.

Audience Performer was part of the troupe.

White Paint softened her gaze, looking at her again.

“Audience Performer, my name is White Paint. Call me White Paint sister.”

It was how Night Lan addressed her.

White Paint also hoped Audience Performer would use the same term.

For reasons unknown, Audience Performer replied casually.

“White Paint sister, hi. Sorry, I can’t tell you my name yet.”

No matter how distant she tried to act, Night Star couldn’t be cold in front of someone she cared about.

She treated White Paint nicely, which was enough.

“Never mind, may I pet your head?”

“Umm… sure?”

With permission, White Paint gently stroked Audience Performer’s beautiful silver hair.

This sensation…

felt exactly like petting Night Lan’s head.

White Paint’s eyes quickly became entranced.

A single coincidence was one thing, but when multiple coincidences aligned, it couldn’t be a mere accident.

White Paint kept this secret close and continued to softly stroke the soft, long hair of her counterpart.

This truth was truly surprising.

She really lived up to her reputation.

Incredible girl…

how many more surprises would she have?
