Chapter 11: Love Has Vanished
“Ugh~ What a delightful day!”
Night Star lay on an inflatable float bed, emitting a languid sigh.
Today’s operations went smoothly, and Night Star Lan was in high spirits.
The members of Night Star’s theater group and the Night Watchers’ formation led by Night Lan exchanged pleasantries very harmoniously.
Currently, Cai Xun and Bu Jie were in the middle of a surfing competition with the Gentleman Fraudster.
Both the Gentleman and the Fraudster were getting their kicks from this newfound amusement but weren’t quite used to it. They kept falling off the surfboard regularly, causing quite the chuckle-fest for Bu Jie and Cai Xun.
Of course, the Gentleman wouldn’t let this get under his skin, whereas the Fraudster was twitching at the corners of her mouth.
One could easily envision those two clowns receiving some form of retaliation from the Fraudster.
Bu Jie was also no better; he used his strengths to attack others’ weaknesses.
Night Star strongly suspected that Zero Meow’s knack for mischief came directly from Bu Jie.
But Night Star was confident that the Gentleman and the Fraudster would soon master the art of surfing.
They were geniuses at performing, after all, so picking up these trivial surfing skills would be a piece of cake compared to acrobatics.
On the other side, things were also looking up where White Paint was concerned.
Night Star subtly kept an eye on her.
There seemed to be a nice atmosphere over there.
White Paint was chatting with Empty Rain White and company. There was no stiffness typical of newly acquainted individuals.
Quite rare indeed.
What could they possibly be discussing that made them all so cheerful?
Girls really are a mystery.
As for Little Loli, there was nothing much to worry about.
Lianhua and White Fish got along well.
Under the care of Night Lan, there were no signs of anyone feeling out of place.
She completely fit right in.
Alone and isolated seemed only to be the Group Leader.
Hmm…
Saying he was alone wasn’t entirely true.
After all, he had managed to captivate several female audiences with his impeccable demeanor and good looks, plus a little entertaining showmanship.
A mature, steady, charming old man always attracts attention.
It looked more like the Group Leader was here to hold a small performance rather than just relax at the beach.
Kudos to him!
But this also came at a cost—a true warrior always walks alone.
“Ugh~”
Then, looking up at the sky, Night Star noticed a few tiny drones hovering about, apparently gathering information about the beach.
Beach managers used similar technology to watch for suspicious behavior.
Night Star figured they must have official eyes watching too.
If they detected the Rising Sun Theater Group at the beach, they’d surely send a scout to check things out.
Just like Night Star thought.
Inside the Pinghai City Night Watchers’ base, they were watching the Rising Sun Theater Group’s every move in complete silence.
“It’s the Audience Performer’s doing, isn’t it?”
“Most likely.”
“Bringing so many dangerous star eclipses to the beach for team-building… what a wild idea…”
The Night Watchers could only resign themselves to the situation if they couldn’t handle it. If they could fight, they would’ve charged ahead with a strong rebuke.
Sometimes, they wished they could pull the Audience Performer aside and ask if she even had any sense.
Too bad they couldn’t beat her.
“Our adorable leader, Sunlight, is there too, mixing with the Audience Performer…”
Everyone quickly spotted Night Lan’s presence.
At that moment, she was laughing and chatting joyfully with a group of Little Lolis in shallow waters.
Among those Lolis was the Puppet Master from the Rising Sun Theater Group—Supernova Star Eclipse.
The fact that people were happily talking to such a dangerous entity sent shivers down everyone’s spines.
Is it safe to be so close?
In addition to this,
The identities of those interacting with the Rising Sun Theater Group members were swiftly uncovered.
They were all from Yun Chang City Night Watchers who had recently come to Pinghai City on holiday.
Wait, no. Two of the Lolis should be reserve Pinghai City Night Watchers—Shiyu Qianyi and Star Sheng.
However, that wasn’t the issue.
The question was why they interacted so harmoniously with Star Eclipse.
Cai Xun and Bu Jie from Yun Chang City were surfing with the Gentleman and Fraudster.
White Paint was chatting animatedly with the Singer, Playwright, and Makeup Artist.
A couple of reserve Night Watchers Lolis were joyfully playing in the water with the Puppet Master.
Surrounding the Group Leader were several ordinary folks.
This wasn’t their usual performance time or any unusual event.
Careful observation revealed that, apart from Star Eclipse’s identity, they seemed pretty normal.
No star eclipse contamination. They weren’t using Star Eclipses Force and could interact normally with regular folks, unlike certain star eclipses who were impossible to negotiate and were highly neurotic.
In a way, they didn’t seem very dangerous.
Though the Group Leader, Gentleman, and Fraudster had caused quite a stir in various cities lately, leaving plenty of Night Watchers stressed out.
But ever since the Audience Performer showed up, they hadn’t repeated their previous antics.
Even when they performed, they didn’t cause disturbance or catastrophic disasters to ordinary people.
Only the Night Watchers who knew their terrifying capabilities remained on edge.
Sometimes, knowing too much comes at a price.
As time passed,
The Rising Sun Theater Group gradually transformed into a stable organization in the Night Watchers’ eyes. The headquarters decided to no longer consider them as a target to be eliminated.
This shift came from the magical influence of the Audience Performer.
Their stability was due to her presence keeping them in line.
Perhaps…
These star eclipses don’t need to be feared.
Could there be a day when they become companions?
That seems a bit far-fetched.
In reality, as long as they’re not enemies, that’s fine.
The Pinghai City Boss took a deep look at the screen showing Night Lan, inadvertently sighing deeply.
“Ah, let them be as long as they don’t cause trouble.”
Cut back to the scene.
Night Star pulled her gaze away from the sky, no longer interested in the drones.
Maybe it’s better to forget all worries and truly savor a moment of peace.
But then, she suddenly sensed something, turning her head towards the nearby sea.
The next second.
Out popped Ghost Girl with an embarrassing scream, “RUA! Audience Performer! Did you get scared by Eypar?”
“Not at all, she exposed herself ages ago.”
Night Star mercilessly retorted.
Even in her relaxed state, not using her presence awareness, she still paid attention to her surroundings.
Eypar’s aura was quite noticeable, and with Night Star’s B-class spiritual power, she could tell Eypar was near without sensing her presence.
So since Night Star Lan reached B-class spiritual power, regular pranks just didn’t work anymore!
Eypar also seemed somewhat disappointed, her hair drooping down.
“Disappointing…”
“Why are you here?”
“Because I caught your scent and floated over.”
“You’re a dog?” Night Star sighed sarcastically.
“Eypar is a proper ghost girl! Not a ghost dog!”
Next, Eypar glanced at Night Star’s attire, observing the other members of the theater group, including Night Lan and her buddies.
“This situation… you must be bringing friends around? How could you not include loyal Eypar? Love has vanished!”
“Not my fault, you were busy out gallivanting every day, so I forgot.”
Night Star changed her position and lay back down, seemingly unfazed by Eypar’s reaction.
“How mean!”
