### Chapter 12: Mostly Skiving
Night Star detached from the Lolita group beside her and let Night Lan stay there and play with them.
After getting back on shore, Eypar followed her, fluttering around Night Star like a tiny comet.
If that ghost girl hadn’t suddenly popped up, Night Star would probably still be floating dead on the ocean surface.
Mostly, it was Eypar nagging behind her about how she wanted to join and become part of the swimwear squad.
So Night Star walked onto the shore.
Thankfully, there was a swimwear store near the beach. Otherwise, Night Star wouldn’t know where to buy a swimsuit for Eypar.

Night Star strolled into the swimwear store, taking in all the colorful options.
“What kind of style do you want? Just pick what you like.”
Eypar zoomed around the store, checking everything out.
With so many swimsuits displayed, she found herself a bit overwhelmed.
“Hmm… Can you help me pick, Night Star?”
“Are you kidding me! Don’t give a complex problem to someone who can’t decide on their own!”
Although she complained out loud, Night Star’s hands started moving as if they had a mind of their own.
Eypar hummed a little tune as she followed Night Star, looking quite pleased with herself.
“Night Star, you don’t need to feel stuck. You don’t have to worry about my opinion; just choose based on your own preferences. No matter what Night Star picks, I’ll wear it.”
“Mm… Now you make it harder for me to decide freely.”
While Night Star really wanted Eypar to wear something risqué and satisfying his inner desire,
the trust and delegation Eypar showed made him feel a bit awkward.
Maybe this ghost girl was being deliberately mischievous?
But considering her naive expression, he couldn’t imagine her plotting anything malicious.
Night Star was left with no choice but to choose seriously.
Anyway, it wasn’t his first time doing this.
Lianhua and Baiyu had picked their swimsuits under his guidance, so he had ample experience.
After a moment of choosing, Night Star finally settled on one outfit and paid at the counter.
Then, Night Star went to a corner to make a wish.
“Let Eypar be able to wear this swimsuit.”
The wish came true quickly, causing Night Star minimal effort.
Now, the swimsuit seemed to have become ghostly too.
Only Night Lan and Eypar could see or touch it; it was after all a ghost’s swimsuit.
“Here, go somewhere quiet to change.”
“Yay~”
Eypar happily took the swimsuit from Night Star’s hand, her doki (the hair curl) bobbing excitedly—a clear sign of her excitement.
As expected, the doki was the most distinctive feature.
Soon after, Eypar drifted away somewhere to change.
It was unclear where she planned to change into her new swimsuit.
Night Star didn’t wait long before Eypar returned in her brand-new swimsuit.
Her entire aura had transformed completely.
At first glance, it was quite stunning, with increased exposure giving off a rather saucy vibe.
It was better than the usual silly ghost girl she was dealing with.
Night Star, having already seen White Paint and Kong Yu Bai in their swimsuits, was now used to this sort of thing and not overly entranced by it.
“Now that you’re dressed, go and have fun by yourself.”
“What! Why are you so cold, Night Star?”
“Haha, without those earthly desires, I wouldn’t have any feelings towards a ghost girl. Unless you turn into a Lolita.”
Night Star sneered.
“I can’t!”
“Then go play by yourself.”
“Unfeeling!”
In the end, Eypar followed Night Star and told him all about her adventures exploring Pinghai City and the ocean.
Night Star nodded occasionally, looking thoroughly bored.
Compared to what she’d been through recently, exploring the city and pranking unsuspecting passersby was child’s play.
While Night Lan had saved two Lolita Star Eclipses in front of everyone,
Night Star had to deal with stories of gentlemen and fraudsters, culminating in facing the terrifying Ballad Conductor.
Though it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park.
Ironically, Eypar seemed deeply satisfied with this trip, her curiosity fully satiated.
What an oblivious and carefree ghost girl indeed.
Not realizing,
Night Star found himself back where White Paint and Kong Yu Bai were hanging out with some other girls.
They were sitting around, chatting idly and enjoying themselves.
Seeing Night Star approaching, Kong Yu Bai waved at her and smiled.
“Performer, want me to put some sunscreen on you?”
“Hmm…”
Night Star pondered that.
While it was common in anime to see tanned Lolitas with a striking contrast,
Night Star didn’t want to end up like that.
Best to stick with proper sun protection.
Seeing the floating figure next to Night Star, Baiyu expressed some confusion.
“Is she part of… the theater troupe?”
This clearly ghostly girl emitted a Star Eclipses vibe and was sticking close to the Performer, making it likely she belonged to the theater troupe.
However, the Night Watcher never knew about this person.
Kong Yu Bai playfully clarified.
“She’s just a lucky charm ghost the Performer keeps named Eypar – not part of the theater troupe, more like a pet.”
Eypar quickly retorted.
“I am not a pet! I’m the Performer’s… well, family!”
Night Star glanced sideways, not bothering to argue with her.
Let her show off a bit.
After all, she hung around the Fish Playing House often and depended on him or else she would fade away.
Unlike house pets that can survive alone, Eypar would vanish without him.
“A Performer’s family member then?”
Baiyu mused, somewhat intrigued.
“Pleased to meet you, Eypar. I’m Baiyu; I’m sorta a friend of the Performer,”
“Oh… Nice to meet you.”
Eypar wasn’t great at socializing.
Except for Night Lan, she seemed uninterested in anyone else.
She only stayed close to Night Lan.
Wait.
She could count Night Lan as two people now.
Double the joy!
Night Star put Eypar’s matters aside and leaned over White Paint, waiting for her to apply the sunscreen.
This scene was quite familiar from anime clips.
Like the usual seaside perks—where the protagonist helps a cute girl with her sunscreen, throwing a bone to the audience.
However, when Kong Yu Bai applied the sunscreen to Night Star, there wasn’t much risqué stuff. They both seemed comfortable with each other.
Night Star quietly lay there, enjoying White Paint’s gentle touch.
“Hmm… feels cool.”
Like cool water splashing on warm skin, the sharp temperature difference was quite invigorating.
“You okay with that?”
“Mmm… Yes, it’s nice.”
White Paint, applying the sunscreen, threw in some massages, making it even more soothing.
Baiyu smiled as she tenderly rubbed Night Star’s smooth, milky-white skin.
“Just relax and take it easy. You’ve got time, no rush.”
“Mmm, I’ll take it slow. Maybe it’ll be mostly skiving,” Night Star lazily replied.
“That’s good.”
