Mo Tu continued divination on the rooftop to get more information.
Since the main trouble was within the Hero Cemetery, it was best to steer clear for now.

Someone opened the rooftop door.

It made perfect sense that someone out of the capital wouldn’t know him.
What he said was true—the rooftop wasn’t open to just anyone.

But as a Sunlight Watcher based in the headquarters, many places like this were accessible.
Ordinary Night Watchers were the only ones restricted from the rooftop.
Of course, Mo Tu wasn’t a regular Watcher, so there was no fear of punishment.
He smiled warmly, a friendly big brother vibe easing the tension.

“Newbie?”
Liu Ying Mo squinted, suspicious.
Being found didn’t phase him, indicating he was no simpleton.
“Newbies should leave. This isn’t your zone. Go back and grow stronger to have free rein here.”
“Haha!”
Mo Tu couldn’t help but chuckle.
That wannabe-bossy tone the newbie used was pretty comical.
Anyway, having a quirky, new influx of bl**d in the headquarters was amusing.
But Liu Ying Mo quickly caught Mo Tu’s amused expression.
“You find something funny? Even if we’re peers, I’m your senior given our status. If you don’t know me as a novice, fine. But disrespecting seniors is out of line.”
“No, nothing like that. It’s just interesting chatting with a senior. Could you give me a moment?”
Emphasizing “senior,” Mo Tu showed genuine interest.
Liu Ying Mo narrowed his eyes again.
“I’m not interested. Downstairs, please.”
He too just needed some fresh air.
The headquarters’ atmosphere was stifling, and even being a Sunlight Watcher couldn’t escape the mental strain.
Night Watcher norms dictated regular mental breaks to avoid becoming Star Eclipses.
Whenever Liu Ying Mo felt overwhelmed, he’d come to this deserted rooftop for a breather.
No other Sunlight Watcher did this.
Like finding a quiet spot to ponder life after school.
An undisputed genius among peers, he kept his pride and avoided idle chats.

If a newbie learned he got so worked up, that would be embarrassing.

“You’re a Sunlight Watcher, aren’t you? I know. You shouldn’t treat me like a novice. Actually, you should call me senior. Come on, say ‘senior.’ If I like it, I’ll forgive your earlier disrespect.”
“Huh?”
Mo Tu seized control, throwing Liu Ying Mo off balance.
“You’re not joshing, right?”
“Do I look like I’m joking?”
