Chapter 24: Promotion
Ever since Night Star Lan discovered that the glowing orb could create terrifying enemies, she decided not to hand it over to anyone who didn’t believe in its potential.
Sure, the Dream Narrator had a decent relationship with her, but they weren’t quite at the “I trust you with my life” level yet.
The Dream Narrator did throw out a pretty good line earlier.
The next enemy might not be so easy to deal with.
Having such a ludicrous enhancement material in her possession was fine, even if it ended up being completely useless to her.
She could always keep it as a storage item.
Even if one day it caused some chaos, Night Star Lan would handle it herself.
“Uh-uh, anyway, this orb is mine! No one can take it!”
“Ha~ do as you please.”
If a fragment of the Origin of the Stars fell into the hands of some unknown ants, the Dream Narrator might just swoop in and reclaim it.
After all, no matter how down-and-out the Origin was, it was still a lean camel worth more than a horse.
The Dream Narrator also wouldn’t allow the Origin to be used by some unremarkable characters.
That’d be an insult to all First Generation Star Eclipses, to some extent.
But as long as it was with Night Star Lan, it didn’t really matter.
That Wish Princess hanging around Night Star was watching everything closely.
The Dream Narrator didn’t even know where this Wish Princess came from; she didn’t seem like a creation of the Origin.
From the specs, she seemed to rank above a Supernova, likely on par with the Origin.
If that’s the case…
Having the Origin in her hands didn’t seem so embarrassing after all.
That’s what the Dream Narrator thought.
After discussing this matter, both sides ran out of topics to talk about.
Night Star Lan simply waved her hand, shooing people away.
“Well, that’s it! Dream Narrator, you go back to doing your thing while Dream Pursuer Yin stays here for some cuddles with me.”
“Alright, see you next time!”
In the next moment, the Dream Narrator’s figure vanished into thin air.
Night Star Lan affectionately nuzzled Dream Pursuer Yin’s cheek with a blissful expression.
“Let’s all sleep in the dream together tonight~”

At the capital headquarters.
In the Leader’s office.
Two men were having a conversation.
“Are you saying there’s a huge anomaly in the Hero Cemetery?” the Leader asked, somewhat incredulous.
Mo Tu nodded lightly.
“At least above Ultra, it’s very likely a Supernova.”
“Are you sure?”
The Leader’s expression turned serious, clearly taking this matter to heart.
“Not sure. My abilities can’t foresee high-spec entities.”
Mo Tu shrugged, looking rather helpless.
In the past, his divination was more than enough for Ultra-level star eclipse events.
Even if he couldn’t break the case directly, it made things a lot simpler.
But for some time now, he’d been encountering entities that made his divination capabilities seem weak, as if he was being pushed out of his league.
He thought this ditching of his powers was a result of joining the Rising Sun Theater Group.
Yet here he was in the capital, still unable to escape this troubling fate.
Definitely out of his depth.
The Leader fell into thought.
He naturally knew about Mo Tu’s situation.
In major incidents caused by Ultra Star Eclipses, Mo Tu’s strategic role was more than sufficient.
Once things exceeded his capabilities, it’d be hard to grasp the overall situation.
The last Supernova Star Eclipse that descended upon the capital was an incredibly tough scene.
Other Night Watchers had practically no effect, aside from Night Lan, this special entity.
Could there really be a Supernova Star Eclipse being born in the Hero Cemetery?
But the Leader was certain that none of the fallen Night Watchers held an Extraordinary Star.
It shouldn’t be possible for such a terrifying star eclipse to come about.
Or was it an invasion by an outside star eclipse?
That theory was quite plausible.
The Leader quickly contacted someone.
“Can you come over for a bit? Sorry to disturb your rest.”
It was a certain Sunlight Night Watcher.
Mo Tu lounged in a chair nearby, looking quite relaxed.
He knew who the Leader was reaching out to.
A moment later, the doorbell rang.
A figure walked into the office; it was a very mature woman.
“Garnet, I called you here to take care of something.”
This was one of the Sunlight stars within the headquarters.
There’s a saying online:
“Flowing output, ironclad support.”
Garnet was the latter.
She had an incredibly strong strategic advantage, absolutely rivaling Mo Tu’s “He Tu Luo Shu.”
In fact, in some respects, she was even stronger than Mo Tu.
Garnet’s star was named “Breakthrough,” or perhaps “Promotion.”
She could enhance relatively ordinary stars to a very high level.
Even ordinary stars under Garnet’s enhancement could very well function like a Sunlight.
The already powerful Sunlight Night Watchers could even reach sub-extraordinary levels.
With Mo Tu unable to make a significant impact, only Garnet’s star could really come into play.
After all, she was ironclad support.
The kind of support that even a dog on a chain could lead to being the main character.
After greeting the Leader, Garnet turned to the other person in the office.
“Mo Tu? You’re back?”
“Yo, Sister Garnet, long time no see! You still look so young and serious as ever!”
Mo Tu greeted her with a smile.
Garnet was one of the older Sunlight Night Watchers.
Thanks to her special star, she hadn’t been affected by the major overhaul events before.
Her supporting capabilities were still too strong.
They could swap out output roles all day long; but when it came to support, there’s just no replacement.
During his last stint in the capital, Mo Tu had met Garnet, so she looked familiar.
Garnet didn’t give Mo Tu a warm reaction, wearing a cold expression.
“You’re still just like before, such a hassle. Get your business done and leave the capital. Staying here will only mess things up.”
“Okay, okay!”
Mo Tu didn’t argue.
Garnet was the classic type with a sharp tongue but a kind heart, frowning on the outside but worried for his situation inside.
After all, Mo Tu had previously exposed his star’s abilities, drawing quite a bit of attention from powerful figures.
“Don’t worry, after reinforcing the seals on the Hero Cemetery, I’ll be out of here in no time. Who wants to stick around?”
Garnet didn’t respond but looked away to the Leader, waiting for him to speak.
The Leader began, “Garnet, we called you here to enhance Mo Tu’s star. He needs to predict something very important.”
Mo Tu wasn’t surprised by the Leader’s decision.
When he called Garnet over, Mo Tu figured he knew exactly what he wanted.
Garnet’s enhancement ability had its limits too; she could only use it once every three days, and each use lasted only half an hour.
And they needed to act tomorrow; there were hidden unknown dangers in the Hero Cemetery.
Leaving Garnet’s ability in reserve for an emergency was a smart play.
But the Leader’s thoughts weren’t entirely aligned with that.
Once the specifications of the star eclipse exceeded Supernova, even the strongest combat personnel in the headquarters might not have much of an effect.
Only a sub-extraordinary level might stand a chance against a Supernova.
Just like last time with the “Doll City.”
That had merely been when the opposing force had just been born, not at their peak, making it possible to barely win under Mo Tu’s lead.
This time, they needed intelligence.
Information on Supernova star eclipses could sometimes turn the tide of battle.
Garnet furrowed her brow slightly.
“Is there really something he can’t foresee now?”
With A-class mental power, Mo Tu could surely gather information on ultra high-level star eclipses.
How could something surpassing his ability happen?
Mo Tu shrugged.
“Sorry, there are just too many things I can’t foresee.”
Garnet also realized the seriousness of the situation.
“I understand.”
