Chapter 34: Swear Allegiance!
The obsessions of the First Generation Star Eclipses are one dangerous thing for humans.
Loti Shana is definitely on another level compared to the Ballad Conductor.
The Ballad Conductor only happily brings tragedy to some people.
While Loti Shana aims to turn the whole world into the Star Eclipse Nation and transform all living beings within it into Star Eclipse citizens.
This is already apocalyptic-level stuff.
A single First Generation Star Eclipse could be that terrifying?
But after all this time, she would’ve done it if she could.
She shouldn’t have waited until now to do it.
“How many such places exist on Earth?”
Mo Rabbit asked.
Loti Shana recalled.
“Maybe a dozen or so, while seeking the origin, we also hastened collection, much like here to speed up the process of expanding our territory. Once prepared, it can be done in a very short time.”
“But some seemed to sense something, and when I wasn’t around, they destroyed the nation I created. More than ten have been destroyed, truly infuriating, gathering lots of Star Eclipses is quite rare!”
Mo Rabbit looked unsurprised.
The Hero Cemetery situation was not the only issue.
This First Generation Star Eclipse has established Star Eclipse Nations in other parts of the Earth as well.
If one day Loti Shana expands her territory, those nations will come into play, accelerating global Star Eclipse transformation.
If the Star Holders didn’t notice, she would steal all their thunder.
When the Night Watchers or other organizations finally realize, they’ll probably have already transformed into Star Eclipse beings under Loti Shana’s power.
Fortunately, Mo Rabbit noticed this early and couldn’t help but smile in relief.
Loti Shana found that smile odd.
“What are you smiling about? I can tell; you’re not a real Star Eclipse, are you? To survive here disguised as one shows you still have some skills. Want to work under me? If we turn the entire world into my nation, I can give you control over a region.”
“I don’t think you’ll succeed.”
Mo Rabbit’s eyes were full of amusement and didn’t falter due to Loti Shana’s dangerous intentions.
This First Generation Star Eclipse was surprisingly straightforward.
Honesty about her goals and abilities.
It must be pure confidence.
The First Generation Star Eclipses indeed had the power to view humans as nothing more than ants, capable of bringing catastrophic destruction. They didn’t fear human conspiracies or plots.
Force equals mass times acceleration.
On the flip side, the First Generation Star Eclipses possessed absolute power below the Origin itself.
Anything that might combat them is nearly impossible.
But perhaps heaven is on humanity’s side.
After all, there’s a little loli with power beyond even the First Generation Star Eclipses.
“Since you’ve been silently observing for a while, you clearly heard what I said, right?”
“Surely, those aren’t fabricated stories? Admit it; they’re interesting, but impossible. Don’t know where you learned about the Dream Narrators, but humans can’t fight the First Generation Star Eclipses. Even you can only become my servant.”
Loti Shana instinctively didn’t believe it.
She was an origin-created First Generation Star Eclipse, and nobody had ever challenged her.
Humans were mere ants; she could crush them at will.
Yet this black-haired girl claimed to have defeated several First Generation Star Eclipses.
It was outrageous.
It would make sense if the Star of Origin had resurrected.
Humans could never do it.
Mo Rabbit dismissed Loti Shana’s skepticism.
“When will you start your plan? Today? Tomorrow? Or the day after?”
“Not so fast, not enough preparation yet.”
“Fair enough.”
Mo Rabbit giggled.
Loti Shana glared at her disapprovingly.
“From the beginning, I sensed something off. Why aren’t you scared of me? Knowing the First Generation Star Eclipses, you should know who I am—my death god status over your mortal coil. Do you think I won’t kill you?”
Loti Shana had seen many humans.
After witnessing her power, their terror was palpable. To preserve their lives, they humbled themselves in the dust.
But this chick apparently didn’t feel that way.
Even if unconcerned about death, that attitude is too relaxed.
Mo Rabbit shrugged.
“Well… seen too many unbelievable things to care much. Anyway, I still hold value for someone important.”
Even with her neck pinched by Loti Shana, Mo Rabbit remained unfazed and even giggled.
To most humans, the First Generation Star Eclipses were disasters, no doubt about it.
But this isn’t the end of their story.
Knowing Loti Shana needed preparations, Mo Rabbit expected her downfall soon.
Finding fun from tormenting the First Generation Star Eclipses.
How delightfully entertaining.
By the way, the Star of Origin she sought worked as the night pearl in the theater, infusing the netherworld theater with a touch of the mortal realm.
Using it as leverage might grant a bit of parity with Loti Shana.
But Mo Rabbit had no desire to mention it.
Being forced onto a throne and having her neck squeezed—she might need to remember this one.
At this moment, Loti Shana released her grip, acting magnanimous.
“Spare it, I’m not that harsh on humans. You’re different from the others; you know about the First Generation Star Eclipses and boldly came here alone. Daring to establish a new nation under my rule? Impressive courage!”
Loti Shana patted Mo Rabbit on the shoulder.
“If you become a Star Eclipse, you’ll be my right-hand woman. Think about it; swear allegiance to me!”
“I decline.”
“You have no right to refuse, I’m the creator! Eventually, I’ll be king of all Star Eclipses. Even you’ll eventually become a citizen. You dare resist my rule?”
Loti Shana stared coldly at Mo Rabbit, the vertical slit irises exerted tremendous pressure like a top predator.
Even Mo Rabbit almost buckled under this pressure.
She managed a weak smile.
“No, no, no~ It’s just that I’ve already sworn allegiance. Unless you defeat her, I won’t betray. You wouldn’t want a past traitor for a lieutenant, right?”
Loti Shana pondered deeply.
“As expected… Who is this person you pledged to? If we defeat her, problem solved, yeah?”
“Exactly.”
Mo Rabbit grinned triumphantly.
“Who is she?”
“She’s called Night Lan.”
“This isn’t the same person you mentioned earlier? Can’t be made up?”
“Yes, she indeed exists~”
Loti Shana was immediately astounded.
“So everything you said was true?!”
“Well, what do you think?”
