### Chapter 7: A Safe Approach
Night Lan and Lan Feng Su Yu chatted for ages, sipping afternoon tea and munching on desserts from midday into the evening, right until dusk rolled in.
Most of the conversation was driven by Lan Feng Su Yu, who fired off questions like a kid at a candy store.
Night Lan was just there, answering her queries with the enthusiasm of someone who just woke up from a nap.
Overall, it was a pretty enjoyable chat.
At one point, Lan Feng Su Yu vented about not being able to come to Yun Chang City to visit Night Lan.
Apparently, she and Mo Yu were direct subordinates of Yao Can.
And Yao Can was this super strict boss who wouldn’t let Lan Feng Su Yu off the leash to frolic around in Shanghe City, piling on troublesome tasks to whip her into shape.
So, there she was, bogged down in a mountain of work, with zero time to hunt down Night Lan.
If Night Lan hadn’t taken the initiative to drop by, who knows when they’d have met again.
Such a struggle!
After hearing this, Night Lan felt lucky that Xiao Jin in Yun Chang City was her boss.
He wasn’t like Yao Can, all serious and strict, and he wouldn’t throw annoying tasks her way—bless him! What a flawless manager!
Night Lan imagined her days as a Night Watcher’s mascot in Shanghe City and knew she’d be getting extra training.
Yao Can definitely doesn’t take kindly to slackers.
But Night Lan? She was all about the laid-back, take-it-easy lifestyle.
Talk about dodging a b*llet!
Lan Feng Su Yu had it rough with a boss like Yao Can, not even able to slack off.
Their chat stretched until night fell.
Seeing that it was getting late, Night Lan finally parted ways with Lan Feng Su Yu.
In a rare moment, Lan Feng Su Yu offloaded all her remaining work onto Mo Yu.
Mo Yu showed up later to complain, but Lan Feng Su Yu silenced her with a chocolate cupcake, rendering her unable to lash out—she just had to agree to return later.
Thanks to Mo Yu’s contributions, Lan Feng Su Yu had been able to enjoy an afternoon of laughter with Night Lan.
Back to reality.
After separating from Lan Feng Su Yu, Night Lan had no plans to head back to Yun Chang City right away.
She had told Lan Feng Su Yu that she was just checking in for a bit, not planning to camp out.
That left Lan Feng Su Yu a little bummed out.
But when Night Lan promised to come back regularly for chat sessions, her mood lifted like a balloon!
Night Lan had this feeling that Lan Feng Su Yu was deliberately putting on a sad face to tug at her heartstrings and fish for that promise—totally giving off a “sweet turns to sinister” vibe.
But that was probably just Night Lan’s overactive imagination.
Lan Feng Su Yu was just a hopeless goof.
Her pink hair always made Night Lan think of all those anime characters with the classic bubblegum vibe—stereotypes can really mess with your mind.
In the blink of an eye.
Night Lan swung through the Theater Door and back into the Rising Sun Theater, encountering Night Star, with whom she promptly engaged in an enthusiastic hug.
“Snuggle snuggle~”
After a bit of cheek rubbing, Night Star and Night Lan flopped down in the audience area, ready to ponder the mystery of the remaining part of the Origin of the Stars.
Rumor had it that this part dealt with the Stars—totally opposite to the Star Eclipses hovering above the theater.
Since Kuro was currently a non-functional, unconscious ball, what about Bai?
Surely, they wouldn’t be a ball too?
Well, Night Star had no idea; she’d have to see to find out.
Now she was ruminating on how to retrieve Bai.
For that, she called upon Mo Rabbit, who was probably off daydreaming somewhere.
Out popped a tiny girl with short black hair, sitting not too far from Night Star and looking utterly exasperated.
“Hey, Audience Performer, you called me out here for something?”
In many ways, Mo Rabbit was also really not keen on meeting Night Star.
She always had this uneasy feeling like she was on the brink of a disaster.
A little while back, she’d gotten word from their Leader that Night Star had already cleared all the pollution issues linked to the Graveyard Star Eclipses.
Mo Rabbit assumed that must have drained Night Star’s apparently endless energy.
Guess not, huh?
Now Mo Rabbit was left with the uncomfortable realization that Night Star had even more free time to cause her trouble.
But at that moment, Night Star’s focus was completely on Loti Shana, leaving Mo Rabbit to stew.
“Relax, Mo Rabbit, I don’t have any bad intentions towards you right now.”
“I hope the ‘right now’ can be morphed into ‘forever’—that would make me super happy.”
“Nope!”
“Ugh, I knew it.”
Night Star swiftly changed the subject.
“Let’s put those minor annoyances aside. I called you over because I want to discuss something crucial.”
“What’s the deal?”
Mo Rabbit noticed that Night Star was seriously serious this time—no playtime in her eyes.
If it had her that riled up, it must be something big.
“Actually, I want to find the remaining piece of the Origin of the Stars.”
“Why?”
Mo Rabbit’s expression remained flat, as if not a hint of surprise had registered.
“Several reasons, you should figure it out.”
“Kind of, I get the gist of your thoughts.”
“So, what’s your take?”
Night Star was eager for Mo Rabbit’s advice.
Her reputation for being reliable and wise, with holistic insights, often pointed Night Star in the right direction.
That was something even the Extraordinary Star might struggle with.
“My take is ‘Ji’.”
Mo Rabbit casually shrugged.
“Seriously! Be more serious!”
Night Star waved her tiny fist in mock anger, as if planning to deliver a punch if Mo Rabbit didn’t shape up her answers.
Nah, more like two punches—one for Night Star and one for Night Lan, just to keep it fair.
Mo Rabbit shrugged again, a glimmer of mischief in her eyes.
“Do what you want, but I suggest you mentally prepare yourself. For instance, if the Origin of the Stars revives—what then? How will you handle the other half? Where will you stash it? If the Origin turns out to be your enemy, do you even have the means to resist? These are all serious considerations.”
Night Star fell into thought.
That makes sense.
From the Dream Narrator’s stories, the Origin of the Stars was initially a stable and great entity—not the source of calamity.
But once it went haywire, things turned disastrous.
Even the later Star Eclipses were a result of its chaos.
If the Origin of the Stars were to revive, its current state was still up in the air.
If it was stable? Awesome.
But if it was out of control, they would face a serious crisis.
Her B-level Wish Machine and other abilities might not be enough to tackle a primordial source of disaster.
Maybe only a jump to A-level spirit strength could give her a fighting chance.
But that was an experience Night Star was definitely not keen on.
She wasn’t one for self-sacrifice.
Seeing Night Star getting puzzled, Mo Rabbit tossed out another idea.
“Here’s a thought: you can check out the situation of the Origin’s other half, but you could choose not to bring it back. Just hide it away somewhere only you know. That could achieve your desired sense of stability without altering the status quo. It seems like a foolproof plan.”
“Hmm, I see, that does sound safe.”
Night Star nodded, pensive, absorbing Mo Rabbit’s advice.
Who knew if having the two halves of the origin together might ignite some crazy resonance that turned them into a full-blown disaster?
Nope. Not about to take that chance!
