### Chapter 22: This Isn’t Too Bad
Night Star looked at Loti Shana, who was still brandishing her royal authority with gusto, and couldn’t help but ask Kong Yu Bai beside her.
“Has she always been like this?”
“Yep! She seems really worried that you’re plotting a coup.”
Kong Yu Bai chuckled, clearly amused by the antics of Loti Shana.
As the magnificent ruler of the glorious Star Eclipse Nation, she had no subordinates whatsoever. She had to personally deliver speeches to assert her royal presence, which was oddly endearing.
The Star Eclipse embodiments, as her citizens, appeared all too eager to indulge Loti Shana, almost as if they were playing a game of house.
Regardless of the situation, Loti Shana was undeniably a source of joy for this Star Eclipse Nation, bringing a lot of entertainment to its residents.
Night Star sighed, her gaze towards Loti Shana filled with exasperation.
“What the heck? Both she and this nation belong to me! Why would I need to stage a coup? Talk about being overly dramatic.”
“That’s just her obsession, I suppose.”
Just then, Loti Shana, in the midst of her speech, sensed something strange and spotted two figures in the crowd staring at her intently.
At the sight of them, Loti Shana froze in place.
“Gulp…”
The other Star Eclipse embodiments looked puzzled by Loti Shana’s odd reaction.
“What’s wrong, Your Majesty?”
“Nothing… nothing at all! That’ll be all for today’s speech. You’re all dismissed!”
With that, Loti Shana turned on her heel and left.
Night Star and Kong Yu Bai exchanged glances and stealthily followed her.
Once they reached an empty corner, Loti Shana stopped.
The two following her did the same.
Loti Shana flicked her long, purplish-red hair and shot Night Star and Kong Yu Bai a stern gaze.
“You two rascals! What brings you to our nation?”
“Uh…”
Night Star pondered for a moment before quietly asking Kong Yu Bai, “What should I do now?”
“Just dive in.”
“Got it.”
Nodding thoughtfully, Night Star quickly marched up to Loti Shana, striking an imposing pose.
“Gulp…”
Loti Shana instinctively took a half-step back, reminiscent of a startled little wildcat.
In a flash, Night Star grab Loti Shana’s hand and pulled her close, giving her a good ol’ scruffle.
“How dare you call me a rascal! You’ve got guts! It’s time you feel the full force of your master’s might!”
“Gulp~ No, there are other people around!”
“Does that mean it’s fair game if no one else is around?”
“Absolutely not! Don’t misunderstand my words!”
After a round of face-pulling and hair-messing, Night Star finally let Loti Shana go, leaving her in a delightful chaos.
Night Star felt a satisfying sense of accomplishment.
During the earlier ruckus, she hadn’t sensed any resistance from Loti Shana; in fact, it felt like Loti was somewhat into it.
Although she was saying “no,” her body seemed to be quite obedient.
Could it be she was getting used to this?
In front of others, Loti Shana was like a snarling dog, fierce and dignified.
But here, with her master, she resembled a little puppy rolling over and exposing her belly—a stark contrast that was utterly adorable.
Even if she hadn’t been trained into a perfect little maid, this was pretty nice too.
To the citizens, Loti Shana remained the great queen, but to Night Star, she was just a cute little plaything.
Such hypocrisy!
“Gulp… You messed up my hair! If anyone else sees this, it would tarnish my royal dignity… How dare you, rascal! I’ll remember this!”
Loti Shana pouted as she tried to smooth her wild hair, her eyes filled with grievance.
“Alright, alright~ You’re still the same as always.”
“Hmph! Don’t think just because you have some grand presence backing you, I’ll surrender. That’ll only make me stronger! How’s that for my royal charm?”
“Completely unaffected, actually. I’d rather push you down on a bed and rub you down.”
Night Star quipped softly.
“Gulp! Remember this! A majestic ruler will never concede!”
“Hehe~”
Night Star couldn’t help but laugh.
Loti Shana was quite the entertainer.
Maybe this was why Night Star had given up on training her into a perfect maid.
If she followed every command, it would just lose some of that fun allure.
“By the way, Loti Shana, I plan to look for the Origin of the Stars. Got any thoughts on that?”
“You haven’t given up? You tried ages ago and couldn’t find a thing!”
The search for the Origin of the Stars was a headache for all the First Generation Star Eclipses.
Loti Shana, along with the other initial Star Eclipses, was plagued by that nagging obsession since the day they were born.
If they couldn’t find it, they could never focus on their own pressing matters.
All initial Star Eclipses felt the same way.
Loti Shana could comfortably pass her time here simply because Night Star had promised to help her search.
With Night Star sharing in this burden, Loti Shana had some breathing room.
But now, after three years, there hadn’t even been a single clue.
To Loti Shana, that was just a blink of an eye, but for a human, three years could feel like an eternity.
Not being able to find something for three years? Loti Shana thought Night Star must have given up.
“Giving up is not an option! I’ll never give up! It’s just the Origin of the Stars! Don’t think you can hide from my grasp!”
Night Star declared resolutely.
It seemed that in this future world, the First Generation Star Eclipses were worse off than those in her past.
At least in her timeline, quite a few had already resolved their obsessions.
But these initial Star Eclipses in this timeline were still struggling and searching.
Had Night Star not intervened, they might have been searching forever.
Now Night Star planned to use the Wish Princess’s power to find it, and surely, she would find it one day.
Loti Shana narrowed her eyes and couldn’t help but mutter.
“How dare you speak such disrespectful words… Truly outrageous.”
“What’s the problem? Sooner or later, I’ll rub shoulders with the Source of White. I hear she’s also a cute girl.”
“Gulp… Such greed… rascal.”
Loti Shana hadn’t expected Night Star to tame one First Generation Star Eclipse and now want to capture the Source of White too.
While it was true that the embodiment of White was indeed a cute girl, for a mere human to set her sights on such an existence was sheer hubris.
Huh?
Night Star has powers on par with the Origin level?
Well, then all’s well!
Maybe White would end up falling into her arms too.
If the Source of White fell into Night Star’s hands, would she still maintain her royal dignity?
Loti Shana was beginning to feel a little uneasy.
What if the Source of White was trained into a fluffball and ordered her to bow to Night Star? What then?
How nerve-racking!
Noticing Loti Shana falling silent, Night Star couldn’t help but reach out, mess up her hair again, which she had just managed to smooth out.
“Are you worried about me? No need to fret!”
“Gulp! Who’s worried about you, rascal?! I will not bow to you!”
“Mmmm, this isn’t too bad.”
It certainly adds to the teasing value.
