Five Hundred and Thirty-Fifth Soul Cry
Within the mountain range north of Karnak, in the Dead Eagle Valley.
In the underground chambers of the Rahmann Royal Tomb, with a cold snort from Chabakunka, a massive floor drawing was sketched out. At first glance, it depicted a plump bird pattern.
After the drawing was completed, it rapidly emitted dazzling light. Amidst the light, a large spirit body appeared within the underground chambers. It was a bird-like spirit body nearly two meters tall, with a much more robust and thick neck than ordinary birds, along with complex long tail feathers. Its body was adorned with mysterious symbols, making it look more like a giant chicken rather than a bird.
Seeing this suddenly appearing giant chicken spirit, Shahab, who had been cursing Chabakunka, paused slightly, as if sensing some danger, and frowned.
“Soulless coffin! You’re not Moen, who are you!? What do you want?!”
Shahab warned Chabakunka cautiously, while Chabakunka stood with his hands behind his back, coldly looking at Shahab before speaking.
“Of course, to make you silent forever.”
“Beak cry, call.”
As soon as Chabakunka finished speaking, the chicken-shaped Wilderness Spirit opened its beak and let out a piercing soul sound. This soul sound was so intense that even those who were not “Silence” Extraordinary Beings could hear it.
This sharp soul sound, known as “Penetration,” caused everyone present to feel a tearing pain in their minds. Amidst the piercing cries, Shahab and his subordinates covered their heads and retreated, feeling their souls trembling and their heads being torn apart.
“Commandments…”
Amidst the soul cry, Shahab muttered these words with a trembling voice. In an instant, the unwavering belief brought by fervent faith filled his heart and his subordinates’. The effect of the commandments allowed them to barely withstand the powerful soul array, but some of Shahab’s subordinates, whose souls were naturally weaker, had already dispersed before the commandments reached them, staring blankly ahead.
Nephnis, hiding above on a beam, couldn’t help covering her ears, but this did not stop the cries from tormenting her soul. She and the soul whiskers inside her felt immense pain. Doro, far away, also felt the residual effects of the cries and murmured with a frown.
“This… Is it a wide-range soul attack?”
Finally, after a short duration, the chicken-shaped Wilderness Spirit’s cry stopped. The entire spirit body dimmed significantly. Within the underground chambers, the soldiers and Shahab who had been successfully covered by the commandments were sweating profusely and gasping for breath, appearing to have narrowly escaped. Those with weaker souls had dispersed before the commandments reached them, standing there dazed with their heads and bodies swaying slightly, seemingly struggling to return to normal.
Facing this scene, Chabakunka spoke again in soul language.
“Come… come… to me. I am the soul beacon, your beacon…”
After Chabakunka spoke, everyone present suddenly felt a sense of detachment, as if their bodies became lighter, wanting to shed heavy clothing and float away. Shahab immediately used the commandments to suppress this illusion.
Suddenly, he and his soldiers’ resistance against this feeling increased significantly. However, those soldiers who had already been deeply affected by the cries before the commandments reached them were not so fortunate. After feeling the urge to float away, they accepted this sensation, shedding their burdens and floating upward.
From other perspectives, these soldiers’ souls detached from their bodies and drifted toward Chabakunka, facing the approaching spirits, Chabakunka opened his mouth, and the souls turned into wisps of greenish soul flames, surging into Chabakunka’s mouth and being absorbed into his body. Seeing this, Shahab couldn’t help but feel enraged!
“Cursed soulless coffin! d*e!”
Shouting, Shahab drew his revolver and fired continuously at Chabakunka. The bullets struck Chabakunka’s body, but did not penetrate; instead, they shattered the tough outer bone ash on his skin, causing him to step back.
Chabakunka’s bone ash came from a bone craftsman’s sigil, capable of mixing bone ash and sand to automatically cover his body like armor, and shaping according to the soul. Ordinary bullets were unable to penetrate this defense with just one round of shooting.
“sh**t! k*ll him!”
Seeing that the gunfire had no effect, Shahab immediately ordered his men to fire at Chabakunka. Just as the soldiers were recovering from the confusion induced by the cries and preparing to sh**t, Chabakunka had already taken new actions.
Chabakunka waved his hand, and another large floor drawing appeared out of thin air on the floor of the underground chambers. This drawing, emitting a faint glow, depicted a huge snake with four limbs. Amidst the light, a new Wilderness Spirit appeared, a giant lizard over seven meters long, adorned with intricate runes.
“Eat my spirituality, erode this land, become the spirit here, embody yourself with earth.”
The moment the giant lizard form of the Wilderness Spirit appeared, Chabakunka commanded in soul language. Instantly, the soul giant lizard began to roar silently in the void. Under the influence of the lizard’s roar, both inside and outside the underground chambers, the environment changed.
Inside and outside the chambers, the sand and stones that had been quietly piled up started to levitate, as if blown by a fierce wind, rushing directly towards the main hall of the underground chambers, gathering onto the body of the giant lizard’s soul. The soldiers, who had been preparing to sh**t, were blinded by the chaotic sand and stones, making it difficult to aim. By the time they recovered, they saw in front of Chabakunka, a huge lizard made entirely of sand and stone, glaring fiercely at them.
“sh**t!”
The savior faction soldiers did not hesitate to pull the triggers, firing at Chabakunka, but all the bullets were blocked by the sand giant lizard. As the bullets were swallowed by the sand, this volley had no effect. Seeing this, Shahab’s face darkened.
Without hesitation, Chabakunka ordered the sand giant lizard to attack Shahab and his men. The sand giant lizard charged straight at Shahab. Seeing this, Shahab immediately threw a dispelling undead sigil, attempting to drive away the strange spirit in front of him. However, under Chabakunka’s enhancement, the sand giant lizard ignored the dispelling effect and knocked Chabakunka aside, about to swallow the terrified Shahab when unexpected changes occurred.
Behind the stone pillars, beside the steps, in the sand… various dark corners within the underground chambers suddenly appeared several figures with different attire. They raised their firearms and shot at Chabakunka. These were the zombie puppets that Doro had stealthily brought in amidst the chaos. Seeing the sand giant lizard move, they all attacked Chabakunka together.
After observing the brief exchange between Shahab and Chabakunka, Doro immediately realized the strength of this unfamiliar soulless coffin. She understood that their battle would be one-sided. At this moment, waiting on the sidelines and hoping for both sides to weaken each other was not a wise choice. Helping the weaker Shahab faction fight against Chabakunka was the right decision.
Chabakunka’s chicken-shaped Wilderness Spirit, with just one cry, had caused Doro to feel a headache and almost lose her mobility. If there were a second cry, Nephnis nearby would be in great danger. Now, the soul chicken remained silent after its first cry, seemingly preparing for a second one. Doro must resolve the situation before the second cry, as killing this unknown soulless coffin would make dealing with the remaining Shahab easier.
The zombie puppets hidden in the underground chambers suddenly appeared, ready to sh**t at Chabakunka. However, as if anticipating this, the sand giant lizard that had been attacking Shahab and his men immediately ceased its attack upon seeing the zombie puppets. It dissolved into a pile of sand and rushed back to Chabakunka. Simultaneously, Doro’s zombie puppets pulled the triggers, firing a series of dense shots at Chabakunka from all directions.
At this moment, the returning sand quickly gathered around Chabakunka, forming the sand giant lizard once more, blocking the bullets fired by the zombie puppets. Chabakunka remained unharmed.
“Scoundrels…”
Looking at the zombie puppets, Chabakunka spoke coldly. Then, he injected more spirituality into the sand giant lizard surrounding him, causing more sand to gather on the giant lizard’s body. The giant lizard’s form instantly doubled in size, filling the underground chambers with a sense of crowding.
The silent roarer, the sand giant lizard, charged wildly throughout the underground chambers, tearing and smashing most of the zombie puppets in an instant. This enormous creature seemed unstoppable in the limited space, causing the entire ground to tremble due to its movements.
While the sand giant lizard was wreaking havoc on the zombie puppets, Shahab finally regrouped. He ordered his subordinates to continue shooting at Chabakunka and drew his saber, enchanting it with a sigil. Suddenly, flames erupted on his saber, and Shahab shouted, charging at Chabakunka with the flaming sword.
The sand giant lizard returned to Chabakunka’s side to protect him, slapping at Shahab.
Facing the incoming giant claw, Shahab swung his flaming sword, cutting through large swaths of flames and striking the sand claw. Although the high heat of the flames and the physical impact of the sword had little effect on the massive sand claw, the spiritual fire generated by the burning spirituality could affect spirit bodies. The burning sand giant lizard let out a mournful howl as part of its giant claw disintegrated.
However, Shahab’s spiritual fire was not strong enough to cause significant damage to the sand giant lizard’s spirit body. The sand claw, after disintegrating slightly, continued to strike Shahab, sending him flying with immense force. Shahab spat bl**d and fell to the ground.
With Shahab dealt with, before Chabakunka could catch his breath, more attacks came his way. Inside the underground chambers, some of the zombie puppets that had survived the sand giant lizard’s assault now charged directly at Chabakunka, shooting as they ran. Chabakunka controlled the sand giant lizard to rush to their aid, and the charging zombie puppets were quickly pinned down by Chabakunka’s giant claws. As they fell into darkness, hidden fuses on the zombie puppets ignited.
BOOM!!!
Suddenly, the sand giant lizard’s claw holding the zombie puppets exploded violently, scattering debris and dust everywhere. While Shahab had previously drawn the sand giant lizard’s attention, Doro had equipped the zombie puppets with explosives and charged them at Chabakunka. When the zombie puppets were hit by the sand giant lizard, Doro detonated the explosives, destroying part of the sand giant lizard’s physical form. Chabakunka’s expression changed.
“What…”
As for where Doro got the explosives, she naturally sourced them from the explosives brought in by Shahab to blow up the tomb. Doro could easily find plenty of them.
Doro blew off one of the sand giant lizard’s claws with the explosion, but such pure physical attacks were ineffective against the condensed spirit body of the wilderness spirit. The sand giant lizard’s claw quickly began to regenerate, the sand reassembling into a claw, but this process took some time.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Doro controlled more zombie puppets to charge out from the shadows, rushing from all directions at Chabakunka. Chabakunka’s expression changed, and he immediately had the sand giant lizard circle around him, protecting himself comprehensively. The zombie puppets exploded upon reaching the sand giant lizard, blowing apart parts of the giant lizard. Then, another zombie puppet rushed into the gap created by the explosion, continuing to detonate before the gap could heal, widening and deepening it further.
In an instant, the rumbling sounds echoed continuously throughout the vast underground chambers, causing the entire Dead Eagle Valley to tremble slightly. The thick stone pillars inside the underground chambers swayed slightly amid continuous explosions, and the entire underground chamber seemed on the verge of collapse. The sand giant lizard rapidly disintegrated amidst constant explosions, its regeneration speed failing to keep up with the destruction. Shahab’s stockpile of explosives greatly aided Doro.
Finally, after the last zombie puppet self-destructed, most of the sand giant lizard’s body had been completely blown apart into sand, revealing Chabakunka, who was protected in the deepest part. However, by this time, Doro had used up all the zombie puppets in the underground chamber, leaving none to deliver the final blow.
At this moment, from the dark top of the underground chamber, a swift shadow plunged downward, diving into the dust and rushing directly towards Chabakunka.
That was Nephnis, who had been lying in wait for a long time on the beam. The moment Chabakunka appeared, she jumped down from the beam, wielding a sharp blade, and charged at Chabakunka with a top-down strike. Chabakunka, now temporarily unprotected by the sand giant lizard, faced a decisive blow from Nephnis.
Raising his head, Chabakunka looked up at the descending assassin, his expression unchanged. He slowly muttered:
“Beak cry, call.”
Beside Chabakunka, the chicken-shaped Wilderness Spirit, now fully recovered, obeyed the command and opened its beak, letting out a piercing soul cry.
