### Chapter 32: The Fishing-for-Something Department
“Is there only one person in the HR department?”
“Not quite, there are other employees.”
“But why is it just you here? Where did the other employees go?”
Night Star remembered that Zero Meow had introduced Luo Xi as the director of the HR department.
Isn’t the HR department supposed to have more people?
Why was she alone?
Night Star had been trying to chat with Luo Xi for so long without seeing any other HR employees around—it was like they were all avoiding her.
It’s eerily quiet out here; even the door hasn’t creaked once.
Could they all be off “fishing for something” too?
That’s impossible. If everyone was fishing for something, this wouldn’t be an HR department—this would be the “Fishing-for-Something” department!
If it’s a Fisheries Department, Night Star definitely wants to join!
Unfortunately, that’s never going to happen.
The Star Network Group is such a serious organization; they’d never stand for a Fisheries Department.
Luo Xi must know what’s going on here.
“Just guess,” Luo Xi replied again, making Night Star feel like pulling her hair out.
“I don’t want to guess, just tell me directly.”
“Can’t do.”
Great, Night Star felt more foolish than ever.
But why doesn’t she mind it at all?
Probably because Luo Xi is too cute.
She’s always patient with little LOLI types.
Right now, Night Star has figured out Luo Xi’s personality—she’s like a tranquil lake that doesn’t respond too much to anything.
Her voice is as flat as her mood swings, and emotions barely flicker across her face.
Mostly, it’s just her eyes and lips moving.
So far, Night Star hasn’t seen Luo Xi smile, giving her an almost three-dimensional doll vibe.
The name itself.
When she first heard it, it sounded super weird, like somewhere she might’ve heard it before.
Oh, right!
Hilo and Luo Xi—are these just backwards readings?
With just a slight difference in one letter.
Wait a minute.
Hilo? Luo Xi?
A lightning bolt struck the night sky in her head.
Night Star went deep into thought.
One face of Star Eclipses from the Star Origins is called “Kuro”, while the other side is “Bai”.
“Kuro” sounds like “Hilo”, and “Bai” sounds like “Luo Xi”.
Though who knew why the embodiment of “No Bullshit” would be called Hilo, but if “Luo Xi” is just a reverse of “Bai”—that’s a little too convenient!
Night Star glanced at the phone-scrolling Luo Xi and realized she wasn’t really paying attention to her.
Luo Xi gave off the vibe of a mysterious three-dimensional doll with no interest in anything.
She also looked petite, probably under five feet tall.
Night Star herself was just about 4’10”.
How small was this girl?
Four feet one?
That fit the criteria for “Origin’s White” perfectly!
Of course, her hair color and eye color didn’t match.
Maybe she was hiding it on purpose, and it’s too early to drop suspicions until everything’s uncovered.
So the question remains:
Is Luo Xi really “Origin’s White”?
Night Star was suddenly jolted by her own thoughts!
What the heck!
Is this really happening?
“Uh…”
Her mind was a chaotic mess.
She needed hard evidence, but asking Luo Xi directly would probably result in her saying, “Guess!”
Too frustrating.
So Night Star faked checking her phone, but her real focus was on Night Lan.
Soon enough, it became quiet in the HR department.
Meanwhile…
Night Lan left the cozy corner with the girls and quickly tracked down the boss.
“Boss! Can I secretly investigate someone? I want to know their background, birth details, and physical data.”
“Sure, who is it?”
“Uh… A girl named Luo Xi, the HR Director of the Star Network Organization. Should be details on her here, right?”
“Of course, anything alive gets its data logged in the system. You can find out everything you need.”
Though Night Star could investigate too, she’d never tried.
So she asked Xiao Jin for help.
Xiao Jin pulled up the control panel, accessing the data library and swiftly obtained the info Night Lan needed.
Now, Night Lan was looking over Luo Xi’s detailed information:
– Birthplace
– Birth date
– Parents’ names
Night Lan scrutinized every detail carefully.
“Eighteen years old? Definitely a legal loli. And her parents are both still alive, working as Night Watchers. She even has two older brothers and a sister.”
That’s Luo Xi’s family.
But other info showed:
– Childhood photos
– Growth marks till high school
Every pic revealed dark hair and eyes, naturally black, unaltered.
Her body growth stopped after middle school, remaining cute and petite.
Checking her record from when she joined the Star Network Org:
“One meter forty-one?”
Just one centimeter off from “Origin’s White.”
Really odd.
Based on this data, Luo Xi looks like a genuine human, not “Origin’s White”.
Right?
Night Star pondered, unsure.
Who knows if “Origin’s White” can massively alter reality.
That kind of power is beyond comprehension, similar to how the Wish Princess displays unimaginable strength.
Maybe “Origin’s White” could modify databases too.
That’s when Xiao Jin spoke up.
“Oh, I recall! Luo Xi was practically raised before my eyes. Way back, I fought alongside her parents, and even saw her when she was young. She was always different from her peers; no nonsense and calm. As for why she chose the Star Network over being a Night Watcher, perhaps only she knows.”
“Hmm.”
Since Xiao Jin verified it, it must be true.
Luo Xi is most likely human.
No way she’s “Origin’s White.”
Of course, Night Lan agreed; that kind of coincidence is absurd.
Like leveling up instantly in a game, she wasn’t naive.
Better to focus and not make wild assumptions.
Otherwise, assuming anyone is “Origin’s White” is dumber than a bag of rocks.
Night Lan isn’t dumb.
Back to chatting with Luo Xi.
“Thanks, Xiao Jin. Gotta roll. Busy yourself.”
“No rush, if you have more questions, hit me up.”
“Mmm~”
